Purchased this 2022 GMC at4 2500hd in 2022. Drove off the lot and traveled 40 miles home. Got hom,000e and pulled out of my driveway and noticed terrible bump in second gear I believe. Notified dealer and returned truck for them to replace 2 valve bodies. One week later the truck experienced terribel bumps in a downshift fashion at slow speeds, like it's downshifting from 3rd to 2nd gear. Returned truck and they replaced transmission. Problem improved some but now with 48,000 miles if your in slow speed downshifting world around 10 mph, it will lock up or hard bump that makes you think you've hit someone in front of you when you're in heavy traffic. It's been doing this at random times since new tranmission was installed. It feels like a lock-up situation. No indicators or messages show up on vehichle. I've made several compaints to dealer with no luck to this point.
Was driving down the highway and was approaching a red light. As I was slowing down my transmission down shifted hard and my rear wheels briefly locked up and my truck went in to reduced power took to dealership only to find out the valve body failed and my truck wasn't covered.
I am receiving a "shift to park" warning intermittently when parking my truck. The truck is in park, but the transmission does not recognize this and flashes the warning on the dash and chimes. While this is happening, I cannot lock the vehicle, and the battery is being drained. I have read that this is a known issue with other GMC models as well. I just was given a $1074 bill to replace the transmission control with park sensor.
I was driving home from work and my truck down shifted and rear wheels locked up, now it’s in limp in mode and will not shift.
The vehicle will be in the park position and a warning on the dash will say shift to park not allowing you to shut off the vehicle. Jiggling the shifter sometimes works but often have to restart the vehicle numerous times to get the error message to not appear and be able to proceed with shutting off the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2022 GMC Sierra 2500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph, the warning message "transmission overheated" had suddenly displayed and an audible alarm activated. The vehicle was later towed to the local dealer who diagnosed that the transmission valve body assembly needed to be replaced. The transmission valve body assembly was replaced and the failure was remedied. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 18,334.
