Dashboard Crack Problems of GMC Sierra 2500

I own a 2007 GMC sirrea 2500hd slt truck and it has cracks in the dash board. Which from my research these gm trucks and more have a history of cracking and gm refuses to correct the problem. It would be great if gm would admit to this problem and fix it at their expense. The truck was just sitting when I noticed the cracks. The cracks are located above the gauge panel and on the corner of the passenger airbag.

The contact owns a 2007 GMC Sierra 2500. The contact noticed numerous cracks in the dashboard around the passenger side air bag area. Larry stovesand Buick GMC in paducah, kentucky and royal oaks Chevrolet in paducah, kentucky were made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 103,000.

1 day got in truck and noticed the dash was cracked on driver side behind the gauge cluster and as I looked I noticed it was also cracked at the 2 upper corners of the passenger air bag. The truck only has 25000 mile on it. Gm will not pay to have it fixed and I'm worried that it can affect the safety of the air bags.

I got in my truck yesterday and noticed a crack in the dash at the passenger side air bag. The crack was not there before. I am concerned that if the bag deploys, the crack in the dash could become a projectile or cut the air bag resulting in a serious or fatal injury. My truck is garage kept and is not exposed to extreme temperatures.

Cracked dash by passenger air bag.

The dash is cracked around the passenger side airbag which could be a safety concern during airbag deployment with sharp pieces of broken dash being propelled towards occupants.

The contact owns a 2013 GMC Sierra 2500. The contact stated that the dashboard began to crack severely. The local dealer (frank kent country, 2000 e. State hwy 31, corsicana, TX 75110) was contacted and stated that there was no recall on the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 58,000.

Dash cracked in two places in front of drivers seat top of dash. Reason is dash is single piece doesn t allow for any flex.

Multiple cracks in the dash. 3 are at the passenger airbag. 2 of those have cracked all the way through allowing a piece of the dash capable of dislodging if the airbag deploys creating a hazardous projectile. The crack above the instrument cluster measures over 7 inches in length. Pictures provided. It is unknown if the issue started when the vehicle was parked or in motion.

My dashboard cracked by the passenger side airbag about a year ago and now it is cracking above the gauge panel. It cracked the first time when I got in it and started home from work. The second crack above the gauge panel I had just noticed a week ago.
