Driver seat belt would not recoil. Took to royal GMC of tucson and they said it was not a warranty covered part and would not repair it unless I paid for the seat belt replacement. Obviously, I need a seat belt as a safety feature being the driver so I had them order the seatbelt and they installed it. See attached receipt. I believe this should be a warranty item from the manufacturer as it is defective and a serious safety issue. The vehicle is a 2019. I am the only one that drives this vehicle and I have never had any accidents etc.
The “service safety restraint” alarm goes off continually on my 2021 GMC Sierra 2500hd at4. The warranty is no longer valid as at the time of occurrence I was at 34,500 miles and when I took it in the warranty had expired due to exceeding 36,000 miles. Extended warranties were not purchased and this began approximately 8-9 months after purchase. The code given is “b0014 driver seat side air bag deployment loop” with a description of high resistance in wiring or wiring harness. After much research I have found that many GMC 2021 vehicles and previous models have had this exact same issue. No dealership as of yet has offered to help or understand that this defect was of their own flawed design. The issue that I am having is exactly the same as other models such as the 2021 yukon, sierra 1500, suburban and others. This is a safety issue and only want GMC to account for their flaw. I do not believe I should have to pay for a design flaw or equipment malfunction that is well known amongst GMC vehicles. I am asking the NHTSA to help me in this matter and the many others who are having the same issue and for the manufacturer to be accountable for their own flaw.
To avoid a head on collision I had to move to the right of my lane and I hit a mountain head on and neither the driver or passengers airbag deployed. The vehicle over turned on its left driver side after skidding along pavement for a few yards it finally came to a stop. There were no passengers. I was the driver and sustained lacerations to my head bruising in chest area and a punctured left lung. The vehicle was in motion going 35 mph.
I had started the truck, connected a landscape trailer and started out of the yard, I stopped in the driveway to check the safety chains. While I was outside the vehicle I heard a bang. When I got back in the truck the airbag light was on and both front seatbelts were locked.
Rear passenger seat belt is stuck and will not let out slack or tighten. Constant. No accidents. It worked properly when we bought the vehicle. We were unaware of any changes or occurrences that caused it.
While traveling on the highway we hit black ice and ultimately ended up with a front impact which turned into a 2 time vehicle rollover. Both front seat belts and buckled during the rollover and did not lock and neither of the airbags in front when off at any point during the collision.
Rear seat belt retractor has stopped retracting.
Pulled out rear middle seat belt to put my grandchild in it and it won't retract. Was told by dealership that they would not fix it at no cost because I was 120 miles out of my warranty. There is a recall on seatbelts but not the pickup.
Passenger seat belt does not allow freedom of movement after breaks are applied with constriction of passenger . Only way that owner or passenger can release the seat belt lock mechanism is to unlock the seat belt while vehicle is in motion causing safety hazard for the passenger. Owner took vehicle to dealership and given estimate of $950+ to fix this issue.
The passenger seat has no warning system if the seat belt is not buckled. On this vehicle only the driver has a warning for an unbuckled seat belt.
I have had my vehicle in for repair several time on the passenger seat belt does not provide a warning when disconnected while operating. The dealer is telling me that is was not installed in that model and year. I do not feel safe have a passenger in the seat with out the warning letting me know that are unbuckled. My wife rode for over 200 miles with it disconnected by no fault of her own. I feel this is a safety issues and need addressed with GMC the chevy same year it works.

GMC, I am emailing you in regards to safety features of our 2015 GMC sierra denali not working properly. The rear seat belts do not lock and they do not retract without assistance. We asked the dealership locally if it is recall related issue and they said we would have to pay to have them fixed. This is an issue with a safety feature and it should be replaced/fixed at your expense. We have family friends who were involved in a collision on i70 with a bear, in a GMC or chevy and their little boy almost died because his seat belt faulted to lock and keep him safe. Since knowing that was a huge issue, it is important to us to pursue getting this fixed. It has been like this since we bought this truck in 2016. We look forward to hearing back from you regarding this matter. [xxx] [xxx] redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. I have a complaint on the seat belts in my truck. It is a 2009 GMC 2500hd. When merging with traffic from a ramp when you need to slow down and look for your merge spot the seat belt pins you back to the back of the seat, putting your sight of view in the blind spot. To release yourself you have to push yourself back farther to release the seat belt. I took it to the dealer and they put it on their computer and there were no codes, so there was nothing they could do. I told the service writer this can't be right, and he said I wasn't the only person complaining about this. This makes it dangerous not only the people on the lane I?m going to merge to, but also people behind me. I am not braking hard for this to happen.
The contact owns a 2004 GMC Sierra 2500. The contact stated that the rear seat belt buckle does not remain fastened. He is waiting on the manufacturer to determine if it can be repaired under warranty. The failure mileage was 22,000.
2000 GMC sierra, 3/4 ton, pickup, seat belt does not work.
2003 GMC Sierra 2500hd crew cab cloth split bench: the shoulder harness seatbelts on all three passenger seats will lock up during normal cruise (no sudden stops or yanks on the belts), and will continue to get tighter and tighter until the occupant must unbuckle the seatbelt and let it completely retract before it can be re-buckled.
