Upon inspecting the vehicle, the contact became aware that the battery was drained. The battery was recharged. The contact stated that while driving, there was an abnormal odor inside the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the battery was overheating. The contact was informed that the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and made aware of the failure. The contact was informed that an incompatible battery was installed in the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000.
