Four problems related to brake master cylinder have been reported for the 1996 GMC Suburban. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The defective abs braking system malfunctioned, causing the spongey feeling brake pedal and having the vehicle to pull to left, and causing extending stopping distance. Replaced the brake master cylinder. Dealer cannot determine problem.
Master cylinder broke, resulting in loss of brakes.
The brake's master cylinder cracked away from the power booster causing loss of braking power. Vehicle was stopped with the use of the emergency brake.
Master cylinder failed resulting in brake loss.
