Three problems related to fuel delivery have been reported for the 1996 GMC Suburban. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While replacing the fuel pump to try to fix my problem, I found the power wire (gray), melted inside the fuel tank. Maybe it grounded out somehow, but the whole wire harness is burnt, and the wire is brittled and burnt.
The wiring in the fuel tank for the fuel pump got hot and melted shorting out the fuel pump. Nlm.
