Five problems related to brake foundation components have been reported for the 1997 GMC Suburban. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Brake problems, rotors have been machined several times, brakes shudder when stopping, and the speed sensor replaced.
Brakes experienced failure on three occasions.
Design of the brake system does not stop efficiently, rear brakes are not making enough contract with the rear drums to aid in stopping, resulting brake fading and damage to rotors (warping). Mjs.
Battery ruptured, causing acid to leak down on the brake line, resulting in braking system failure. Dealer has been contacted.
Brakes fail continually causing loss to stopping distance control, pulsation and pedal to the floor, unable to rectify.
