Front Air Bag problems of the 1999 GMC Suburban

Two problems related to front air bag have been reported for the 1999 GMC Suburban. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Front Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 09/07/2002

When traveling 40-45 mph driver hit another car on side of road, pushing it. Also, struck a tree head-on. Neither air bag deployed from either impact. Driver did sustain severe chest cavity injury. Please describe details.

2 Front Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 10/14/1999

While traveling 30mph another vehicle pulled out in front. GMC "t" boned the vehicle. Upon impact, neither air bag deployed. Passenger was leaning forward at time & the seat belt had become slack. Passenger hit head on windshield. The driver suffered bruises on chest & knees. Both had emergency room treatment due to a lack of air bags.
