When traveling 40-45 mph driver hit another car on side of road, pushing it. Also, struck a tree head-on. Neither air bag deployed from either impact. Driver did sustain severe chest cavity injury. Please describe details.

Consumer was in heavy traffic, and he said that traffic in front of him came to a stand still. He was within two car lengths behind another vehicle. Consumer applied brakes and hit vehicle in front of him. Upon impact, airbags didn't go off. Also had problem stopping with abs braking system.

While traveling 30mph another vehicle pulled out in front. GMC "t" boned the vehicle. Upon impact, neither air bag deployed. Passenger was leaning forward at time & the seat belt had become slack. Passenger hit head on windshield. The driver suffered bruises on chest & knees. Both had emergency room treatment due to a lack of air bags.
Had an accident 22-Jul-99, and airbags didn't deploy. Consumer has not contacted dealer and manufacture. Had brake problems and had them replaced 1000 miles under warranty.
