Suspension problem #1

The contact owns a 2010 GMC Terrain. The contact was driving approximately 25 mph, proceeded to make a right turn when the vehicle began to make a popping sound. The contact was able to continue driving. The contact inspected the vehicle and noticed that the rear passenger side tire failed to make contact with the ground. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer. The technician stated the rear passenger tire lifted off of the ground and the axle was spinning slightly. There was no recommended repair. The failure mileage was 94. The current mileage was 600. Updated 5/6/10 the dealer was unable to duplicate the problem. Updated 07/16/jb.

Front Suspension problem #2

Issue - 5/20/2011 • vehicle brought in for rattling heard from front right wheel. Diagnosis • noise was found to be coming from front right strut boot. Solution • applied grease to strut noise subsided issue - 7/26/2011 • 7/26/2011 - vehicle brought in for rattling heard from front right wheel. (same noise as reported on 5/20/2011) diagnosis & solution • noise was found to be from same location as reported on 5/20/2011. Was informed by service rep. That the boot housing which protects the strut from water and mud build-up rattles and gm has not deemed a solution to fix issue and they were instructed to pack it with grease. €¢ called gm corp. - on 7/28/2011 spoke with marlet ext. 12772 in regards to the above issue. €¢ informed by gm technical bulletin put out by gm states no fix for issue and it instructs service departments to stuff area with grease. 8/01/11 contacted by a tech from gm extension # 42315 and informed once again that gm is aware of the issue and that there is no fix for the issue and that a technical bulliton was put out by gm to stuff location with grease to stop problem.

Front Suspension Hub problem #3

Vehicle started making loud rubbing noise coming from the drivers side wheel. If vehicle had continued to be driven, it is possible the wheel could have fallen off. The wheel hub bearing was defective. After searching the internet forums it is obvious that this is a reoccuring problem on GMC Terrains and Chevrolet equinox. GMC refused to repair under warranty and after submission to them for reimbursement, they decilined.
