The contact owns a 2010 GMC Terrain. The contact stated that while she was driving at approximately 20 mph and depressing the acceleration pedal, the vehicle would not engage. The contact stated she would have to continuously restart the vehicle, or switch the gear in order to drive the vehicle. The contact stated that the check engine light was illuminated. The contact stated stated that she then took her vehicle to the dealer who diagnosed the failure, and advised that she change time timing chain. The vehicle was repaired, however after 5 months later the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was not repaired since. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 121,000.
