My Terrain is using motor oil excessively. After an oil change, I can drive 1000 miles then I start hearing a knocking noise on startup. I have to add motor oil at every fuel fill till my next oil change sometimes one quart and sometimes two or more. I have no leaks. The engine compartment is clean and dry and nothing is wet under the car ever.
In January 2018 I had noticed at drive thrus that I could hear a knocking sound coming from my 2013 GMC terrian. One day I was driving home on the highway and when I got to the stop light I noticed the sound got very loud and once the light turned green the car would not go. After shutting it off an turning it back on, I was able to get it to a gas station, where oil was leaking everywhere. It was towed to a GMC dealer and they told me the timing chain had broke and I had to buy a brand new engine for a car that was 5 years old and had 106,000 miles. There was a recall that took over a year for me to be declined for which was the piston ring and now there is another one for the catalytic converter that poage is telling me I am denied for. How can there be 2 different recalls that effect the engine, but I do not qualify for either one of them. To spend $5307. 00 on an engine for what is obviously a defect is insane.
