While driving, the vehicle display screen and lights start turning off and on. The warning lamp says " service trailer brake system" and the vehicle is unable to accelerate at all. Leaving me at a stand still in the middle of the road. It's a safely hazard because it happens suddenly and without warning and I am unable to move my vehicle so I'm just in the middle of the road. I haven't taken it in to the dealership yet. I looked online and there is a recall called " chassis electronic control module internal contamination" that meets the description of what's going on here, but when I called GMC they said there is no recall for my specific VIN, even though the recall is for my make model and year.

The contact's wife owns a 2014 GMC Yukon xl. The contact stated that on several occasions, the vehicle failed to start with the key in the ignition. The failure persisted and a yellow anti-theft warning symbol was displayed on the instrument panel. The contact stated that on one occasion the vehicle failed to start after several attempts and the contact became trapped inside the vehicle for approximately 5-6 minutes and was unable to unlock or open the doors. The contact attempted to use the remote and the key to unlock the doors but there was no electrical functions available. The contact stated that the temperature was very hot inside the vehicle, and he was starting to be deprived of oxygen due to the excessive heat. The contact’s wife who was inside the residence was able to unlock the vehicle from outside after several attempts of pressing and pushing the door handle, the key, and the remote. The contact stated that after the door was unlocked, the contact jiggled the key inside the ignition switch and the vehicle started. Medical attention was not needed; however, the contact stated that the failure could have been fatal if he did not have the cellphone to call for assistance. The contact eventually restarted the vehicle and drove to the dealer. The contact was provided a diagnostic fee and the vehicle remained with the dealer. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 120,079.
