1 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 02/08/2026

Automatic emergency braking system deployed unexpectedly on acceleration from a traffic light stop. Vehicle was about 10-15 mph and system operated with no brake pedal input. A vehicle behind had to do a panic stop to avoid collision. Deployment disengaged when accelerator pedal was released. My wife, principal driver, was in the car. She advised this had occurred two times before. No recalls are presently listed for the vehicle.

2 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 07/04/2025

I just purchased this 2019 GMC Yukon denali. About 3 weeks after; the message "service trailer brake system" started beeping. . . Didn't really pay bother me at 1st since I weren't planning to pull anything. Then it started doing it more frequently. Now it is constantly doing it every few days. Can't seem to get it to stop. Very annoying. . . Any suggestions?.

3 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 10/08/2024

The contact owns a 2019 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that while driving at 55 mph and approaching a red light, the brakes failed to operate upon depression of the brake pedal. The brake pedal had hardened as the contact steered the vehicle off the shoulder of the road. Due to the failure, the contact drove through the intersection and allowed the vehicle to coast to a complete stop. Upon restart of the engine, the "brake assist" warning message flashed on the instrument panel. The contact's husband was called to the scene of the incident and later drove the vehicle to an independent mechanic. The mechanic inspected the vehicle had discovered that the vacuum pump had failed. The vehicle was repaired by the mechanic. The dealer was notified of the failure and offered to inspect the vehicle; the dealer then referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline to file a safety complaint. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 131,600.

4 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2024

My vehicles electronic stability control is activating randomly. This issue started a few years ago and has increased in frequency. We will be driving at speeds between 50-75 mph in dry conditions and it will randomly activate which has almost caused us to lose control of the vehicle. No mechanics have been able to figure it out. I did some research and saw there was a vehicle recall issued for 2019 GMC Yukons electrontronic stablilty control system, but for some reason it does not cover my vehicle. The gm recall number is n192261050. The description of the issue matches exactly what is happening. I called GMC and issued a complaint and also have setup a dealership to fix the issue. I don't believe I should be responsible for paying the cost of the repair since other 2019 GMC Yukons were recalled for this issue.

5 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 05/10/2022

Received a message on driver information system that states service trailer brake system. When towing a trailer, the trailer brakes are inoperable and pose a safety risk in the event of a sudden brake event. Gm apparently has a service bulletin published for this message which indicated a replacement of the connector in the wire harness should be performed. Although I don't tow trailers often, I should be able to rely on this feature in my vehicle. My vehicle only has 70,000 miles and this is too soon for such a part to become faulty.

6 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 04/27/2022

I purchased this vehicle, new. I have never towed anything with this vehicle. Yet, the "service trailer brake system" warning has been flashing, endlessly for two days. The chime is distracting when it comes to driving and/or hearing emergency sirens, should they be nearby. I have not taken it in for service as this just occurred yesterday (4/27/2022). This issue makes the vehicle difficult to drive and feel safe.

7 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 09/04/2019

I was traveling straight on ohio turnpike with my family when all of a sudden the truck tires started to feel weird. I tried to slow down a little by pumping my breaks, but the wheel gave a sharp pull to the left for no reason. I was traveling approx 60-70 mph when I felt a strong pull to the left hand side and my seat started to vibrate. I couldn't control the steering and informed everyone in the vehicle at that time that we were going to crash. I am positive that this defect in the steering/breaking system resulted in a major accident. If that's not bad enough, my air bags never deployed and I was injured as a result of the mva. 7 passengers wearing seatbelts. Vehicle totaled. Damaged guard rail. Submitted a defect claim right away. I've driven suvs since I was issued my license and never once have I ever felt out of control. It was like slow motion. I knew I was going to crash and there was nothin g I could do to stop it. I have since been awarded the ohio state troopers award for seat belt safety. I've requested an inspection of the vehicle. Only after the accident had it been brought to my attention that the right tire had recently been replaced. Vehicle has since been recalled. I'm certain something malfunctioned and that's why we crashed. We drove from MA to mn at the end of August to attend the state fair, the accident occurred after leaving mn on our way back home to MA. Accident was witnessed. I was not cited or issued a ticket. Not my fault. Just need someone who specializes in defects to confirm my allegations. Included in police report as well as motor vehicle insurance claim.
