The driver-side headlight and turn signal on my 2022 GMC Yukon stopped functioning completely. This issue began before gm recall 22v?903 and worsened immediately after the recall repair was performed. The recall repair required three separate dealership visits because it was initially performed improperly, yet the problem was never fully resolved. During interactions with gm and the dealership, I was told the repair might involve a $600 part, but they could not guarantee that replacing it would fix the issue. It is unreasonable and unsafe for me to be expected to cover the cost of repairs for a problem that was caused or worsened by a recall repair performed incorrectly. The malfunction creates a serious safety hazard, as oncoming drivers cannot see my turn signals, and I nearly had an accident because of it. The problem has been confirmed by the dealership and documented in gm case #74327012. Prior to complete failure, the driver-side turn signal and daytime running lights occasionally stayed on after shutting off the vehicle which I was told that was caused by the recall. The vehicle has been inspected by authorized gm dealerships multiple times, but the defect persists. The component is available for inspection upon request.
Illuminated emblem failed due to apparent water intrusion. It caused drivers side head lamp to operate improperly. At first it caused headlamp to flicker, as if a short. Then it caused headlamp to remain on when it shouldn't. It would not cut off. Therefore, risk of battery going dead and being stranded. It could also cause trouble driving, therefore causing a wreck. My vehicle is currently in the shop for this and no recall has been issued by gm. It's a known issue, had been a known issue for over 7 months, and still no resolution!! I had to pay extra for this emblem, and they're not offering a refund for an added oem accessory that will not operate! they have issued a temporary "fix" until resolution is found, again, 7 months and still no resolution!.
The contact owns a 2022 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed in a parking lot, she suddenly saw a blinding glare and then crashed into a light pole. The air bags did not deploy. The contact stated that her two infant children were inside the vehicle with her and that there were no injuries. No warning lights were illuminated. A police report was filed. The vehicle was taken back to the contact's residence. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, where various unknown repairs were completed. The contact had received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 22v903000 (exterior lighting). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 5,000.
