The contact stated that after the serial data gateway module was updated, the check engine warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle failed to restart with the key fob, and the doors failed to unlock with the key fob. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer; however, the dealer refused to diagnose or repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 177,000.
