Ignition Module problems of the 1997 Honda Accord

Three problems related to ignition module have been reported for the 1997 Honda Accord. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Ignition Module problem

Failure Date: 03/27/2014

Vehicle stalled without warning. Continued to stall at low speeds high speeds cold engine hot engine. Since it was intermittant, mechanic had trouble diagnosing. I found a recall on NHTSA regarding this problem in which the ignition switch module was to blame. Honda refused to honor the recall given the length of time that had passed so I had it repaired at my mechanics.

2 Ignition Module problem

Failure Date: 02/17/2000

The onboard computer/brain is malfunctioning. A certified mechanic has advised me that the abs/brake system and the srs/air bag system could deploy at any time due to the computer malfunction. I am concered that a serious accident could result if the brakes fail or the air bags prematurely deploy while I am driving.

3 Ignition Module problem

When starting vehicle srs warning light came on and stayed on. Dealer says a computer chip has to be replaced.
