general problems of the 1999 Honda Accord

The contact owns a 1999 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the front driver side interior door latch failed to open. The contact exited the vehicle from the front passenger side door. The dealer was notified and they informed him that the manufacturer was not responsible for the repair expense. An appointment was scheduled with an independent mechanic for the defective door latch repair where he was awaiting the arrival of the necessary parts to complete the repair. The failure mileage was 180,000.

The driver side door latch failed in the locked position with the door closed. This presented a very real safety hazard as I would not be able to exit the vehicle from the driver's side in an emergency. The repair estimate from the dealership was $1,300 for a $100 part.
