Six problems related to other fuel system have been reported for the 1999 Honda Accord. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
When sitting at a stop light for a minute or more with my foot on the brake and the trans in drive waiting for the light to change , then upon releasing the brake and no pressure on the gas pedal the auto surged forward at a rapid speed. Causing loss of control and a rear end collision with the auto in front of me. I researched this anomaly on line and found a list of testimony with the same complaint. Honda did a diagnosis of this problem and found no defects. I'm scared to death to drive this car.
When sitting at a stop light for a minute or more with my right foot on the brake and and the auto trans in drive upon releasing the brake the vehicle accelerates on it's own without any pressure to the accelerator at a rapid speed. .
Ignition some times doesn't work.
Car turns on then once it warms up it turns off please help me fix my problem.
I started driving down a freeway side-road and as I approached a stop sign the brakes slowly went down to the floor. Using the regular brakes and the emergency brake I stopped without incident. I pulled over and found that the brake line had a large leak approximately in the middle and underneath the car. As I worked on replacing all of the brake lines one of the fuel lines also collapsed so I replaced all of the fuel and brake lines to be certain of their reliability.
The subframe, brake lines, fuel lines, and suspension, on the front passenger side, have all rusted out to the point of failure due to a poorly designed a/c drain hose. The dealer should have noticed this was a problem during any of the later service visits. Honda should take action on this dangerous situation.
