Ignition key can be removed from the ignition with the transmission in gear allowing the car to roll. This has happened multiple times. I took it to h dealer and the wouldn’t fix it because they couldn’t find a recall notice on it.
Passenger side subframe rusted out near steering/suspension components causing my sone to lose control of vehicle and crash. This is a well know defect of this vehicle.
Rusted through subframe of undercarriage of car; hole in subframe now - front near ac duct.
Honda had the main brake line with hydraulic fluid burst causing accident. Pushed on brake pedal went straight to floor and did not stop. Was working fine the day before, pumping brake pedal was uselesss. Car was heading for another vehicle so I drove off the road, speed was about 30mph when I ended in a median strip.
I bought a Honda Accord from my nieghboor for 900 dollars and when I took it in for an oil change the did a inspection and found out that the passenger side subframe is totally rotted out but on the drivers side is still intact the car was unsafe to drive and replacement costs over 1,200 dollars to replace the car has over 228,000 miles on it but the mechanic said that its hanging on by a tread and overtime the suspension could collapse leading to a crash.
I have a 2000 Honda Accord. It runs fine but, the other nite it locked me in. On the driver's side and I could not get out, I am disabled with a back injury. And this is not acceptable. If I were in a wreck it could have been worse. But, then 2 days later the car locked me in on both sides. I could not get out. My boyfriend finally got me out on the passenger side, but its been 3 days now and they can still not get my car undone on the driver's side. They have taken door panel apart and everything, still can't get it to open. ( it was stationary when trying to unlock it).
Car shuts off while driving. No check engine light comes on. Usually starts back up. My research indicates ignition switch which I have found Honda has had recalled in the past.
When in motion vehicle transmission slips terribly and is difficult to shift. Car only has 100,000 miles on it. Also air bag lights are always on. Steering wheel also locked on the car.
Srs indicator light came on and stayed on. Took vehicle in to Honda dealership and they said "scanner test found no communication with air bag module. ".
The "srs" light is on in the dashboard. It has been determined that the passenger seat belt latch is faulty. It is dangerous to ride a passenger in this vehicle for fear that the seat belt would not work properly if the vehicle was in an accident or just hit by another driver. Please advise on the repair procedures. The pixels on the mileage and miles driven is not working properly. The mileage and miles drives numbers cannot be read.
The Honda Accord after being returned to myself, had an entire back portion of the vehicle catch fire. It took about 8 coffee pots full of water to douse the flame with before the fire was extinguished in the car port near the side of my home. 805-439-0057 home phone home and mailing address scott brett giles 145 south street #4 san luis obispo, CA 93401 USA.
I have pictures "images" from my small camera taken the same day of vehicle fire. The vehicle appeared as well to be missing an "engine cap?" of some sort after having been at an automotive shop for about a day. Sbg 4/3/2017 805-439-0057 home phone scott brett giles.
The sub frame on the passenger side of the vehicle is rusted out. The rust is below the ac drain hose. The vehicle is unsafe to operate. The dealer gave me an estimate of $2200 for the repair. No damage/rust on drivers side where a/c does not drain. The mileage is 158,080. Also see srs light.
The a/c drain drips on the engine frame beam / cross member causing them to rust. They are now broken in two. Later models were supplied with a drain tube to re-route the condensation away from the beams eliminating this concern.
After having the vehicle in "reverse" to get into a stall parking space on the street, it was shifted into "drive". While being in "drive" and tapping on the gas pedal, the vehicle went in "reverse" uncontrollably. The brakes did not respond. In an attempt to avoid reversing into a wall, the vehicle turned and crashed into a parked vehicle. The impact potentially injured a women that was standing behind the impacted vehicle talking with someone.

While driving my 2000 Honda Accord it made loud banging noise. I took the car into the mechanic to discover that the sub-frame was rusted. After investigating, I come to find out that this is happening to alot of Honda Accords made in (1999-2002). . Read more...
I backed my 2000 Honda Accord sedan uphill into my garage, took the key out of the ignition and started to go into my house when I heard a strange noise. When I turned around the Honda was rolling downhill towards my neighbors house, it stopped short of hitting my neighbors house by some shrubs and a small tree. No serious damage happened. I still had the key in my hand and when I checked the Honda the transmission was in reverse. I tried several times to remove the key in each gear and I was able to remove the key in every position. I took the Honda to a local dealer and they said no recall was on my Honda for that problem and that I had no recourse except to have it repaired on my own. I always heard safety recalls never expired but I guess I was misinformed. I located an NHTSA recall champaign number: 05v025000 that stated Honda Accord 1999-2002 ignition key interlock (the key can be taken out of the ignition in any gear and the car could roll and a crash could occur). Possibly causing damage or death?.
I recently took my car to Honda with problems accelerating up a hill and sometime on flat land and they told me I needed a new transmission at a cost of $4300. I asked to speak with a service manager because I only take my car to Honda to be serviced and now all of a sunden I need a new transmission. Well the service manager told me the transmissions on the 2000 Honda Accord ex v6 were bad. This prompted me to go online and do research, and there were a whole lot of complaints. These complaints stated a lot of issues I had with my car when I first got it specifically I couldnt get my car to shift out of gear from park. My car broke down on me so much in the earlier years it was ridiculous. So I called Honda to no avail since I felt my issues were covered up when I had a warranty with them. They said they couldnt help me im at 116,000 miles and they extended the mileage to 109,000 on their transmissions. I would say that this is bad business for Honda. They should have done a recall. They sevice techs should have been more thorough.
Drivers side door on 2000 Honda Accord coupe will not open from the inside or outside. Door latch assembly inside drivers door has failed. Very dangerous as occupant cannot exit from drivers side door in the event of an emergency. 68,158 miles on vehicle.
Check engine light kept coming on and wouldn't go off. Car was struggling to automatically shift into gear. When it got really hot, car would not start up right away. Would take several times of having one foot on brake and one foot on gas to get it to start again. Transmission is acting like it is slipping. Just bought this used car last year. Local Honda dealership, don wessel, of springfield, missouri acted like everything was fine with the car when we bought it. Took it in there they got the check engine light to go off but then it came back on a few days later. Tried to get them to fix it but they wouldn't. Took it to another place they, they hooked it up to the computer and said that all cylinders were misfiring, and that there was a problem with transmission. Trying to find a place to fix the transmission. We think dealership should fix it since we bought it there and they did not think anything was wrong even after we brought it back and told them that check engine light was still on and car is still acting up.
On may 29, 2014 our daughter was driving our car and had just dropped a friend off at the bus station, after the friend got out of the car, she pulls off and goes around a corner and the car accelerates and jumps a curb, uproots a tree, hits a parked car, which crashes into another parked car. Our car was totaled. I think the other car was totaled and the other car had moderate damage. Our daughter had a gash in her arm and a lot of bumps and bruises. My daughter is scared to death to drive. I would like to see Honda fix this problem, this is not the first incident, nor will it be the last.
To whom it may concern, through this letter, I wish to inform you of my disagreement with the evaluation of the air bags in my 2000 Honda Accord. I was involved in an accident and the air bags did not deploy to protect me. When I addressed my concern to the dalton agency, I was informed that the service manager, manuel páez navarro and the head of mechanics, jorge cardenas only do oil change and filters. They advised if I wanted to know why the air bags did not function correctly, that I should pay a technician $600. 00 pesos to connect a scanner to my car to see if there is an error in the system, an error that may have been there from the beginning when the car was assembled. Please understand that the factory invoice for my auto specifies that it has air bags at the highest security level. That is why I?ve taken my car to be service regularly at the dalton agency to keep all warranties in place. I placed my trust in the agency, in the Honda company and in the global brand and feel that I have been misled about service and quality. I am totally disappointed by the lack of concern from individual lives. The trauma, injury and rehabilitation after the accident has been terrible, least having to deal with you has caused unnecessary frustration and fear. Knowing that the air bag situation has been called a simple mistake or accident does not help my dilemma. Luckily I am alive today, but a few centimeters could have made a big difference and caused a tragic story. What has happened to me could have happen to anyone else, especially someone having a hard time in life. Please consider taking responsibility and do the ?right thing?. I?m attaching pictures and copies of all documents for your review and providing the following information: license plate #: 124-ppu service history: 2001 ? present service agency: Honda dalton polanco DE méxico, d. F.
Dashboard light go out without notice and they turn back on at times. Unable to see at night the speedometer. Gears in car jerk while driving at all times from gear to gear, signs of sand like metal residue in transmission fluid when changed. I purchased the vehicle a little over a year ago and did not think much of it until it became worse and I began to research the possible issues.
I fear my vehicle is being denied a recall due to it by Honda. My vehicle failed its annual emissions test on Aug. 22. The state sent me a notice informing me that my 2000 Honda Accord was part of a recall class in 2004 that was connected to an emissions problem. I received no alert from Honda about such a recall. When I asked Honda about it this week, they told me my car was not part of the recall class. And they claimed that they could determine this by my car's VIN -- that the VIN indicated it was not part of the recall class. So I am asking for your help to determine if my vehicle is part of the recall. . Read more...
Recently bought a 2000 Honda Accord in great condition. Upon inspection noticed that there the front suspension cross member/subframe was rotted on the passenger side of the vehicle. This is only on the passenger side of the vehicle. Upon researching online have noticed that there have been similar complaints from other owners about the ac unit leaking and rotting out that part of the sub frame.
Hi, don't know where else to report this information. I've called before, let it ring for up to 20 minutes, with no kind of pick up. I was going to buy the mentioned vehicle from ross auto, at 590 28th st se, 49509 . I took the car to rivertown Honda in grandville, mi , kenowa sw, 49509 for inspection. Ross's claims car has 20,000 actual miles. I brought it back, quite livid with the lies. He told me to give him carfax in my hand, I said I would for the $35 fee. He freaked out, said there's something wrong with me for being upset about their lies. I told him to get the car off the lot. The following Sunday, drove to ross', car still there. Price raised to $7998. Called mi attorney general's office >told me to call the mi secretary of state. Rep gave me phone number claimed 2 b a federal agency. Was not. Called back mi sec state,on hold > than 1/2hr, told "this is federal offence" >call another #. Told>. . . "nothing u can do,car is> than 10 yrs old". I called fbi in grand rapids, mi. Told me it's issue 2 take up w. The mi sec. Of state. See now why ross' laughing all the way 2 bank, as he's unaccountable. Wrote 2 my neighbor, hon. Steven timmers, district court judge >office about a mile from ross', in city of wyoming court building. Told me he has no jurisdiction, doesn't offer legal advice. Don't know if car is still on lot. I presume someone bought it & been ripped off royally. At closing time, multiple hispanic men drive many of the cars off the lot for some reason. I find this quite peculiar. This situation is an outrage, & I'm dumbfounded that there is no one who will take the time to stop these low lifes. So what if car is >more than ten years old? doesn't the odometer have a serial number on it that can prove it's much less than ten years old? this is a "total loss vehicle" being sold as something quite different. Inexcusible outrageousness.
2000 v6 Honda Accord died without warning at a stoplight and since then it has become more frequent over shorter and shorter time periods/distances. During the first few several occurrences like this it just died either while stopped or while running but could be re-started by putting car into park gear and re-starting. No warning, no sputtering, no shaking and so on prior to any of the dying. The only indication it has died is the dash panel indicator lights would all be on as though the car was just being started. During re-start the dash panel lights would be lit like they should be just prior to starting. Now as of yesterday the pattern has changed to still dies and the dash panel lights come on but when you shift to park and then try to re-start none of the dash panel lights come on and all you hear is the cranking of the engine but not starting. Eventually after a few minutes (1-5 minutes) of being off you could then re-start the car and the dash panel lights would light up prior to the re-start like they should. Unfortunately toward the end of yesterday that pattern again changed to where the lights would not come on during the attempt to re-start even after 40 minutes. I called Honda on 06/18/2013 and spoke to an agent and told her that I believe this is the same issue that Honda had a recall for dealing with the ignition switch under recall#:36754 in the USA and also another in canada for the identical issue my Accord is demonstrating. Honda seems to want to hid behind the idea that if my VIN is not in the recall then I am out of luck. This is a life threatening driving condition the car dies while moving without warning. I am sure they are other owners with this same issue (web is full of owners decreeing this issue) that have just had car repaired but never filed report here to bring issue to your organization's attention.
2000 Honda Accord. Consumer writes in regards to recall report . The consumer provided a list of recalls. However, he was informed they did not apply to his vehicle.
A light engine came on from nowhere, took the car to a mechanic to check it out, it appears to be a transmetion codes. Since then having trouble shifting.
Transmission has begun slipping, jerking badly. When coming to a full stop, noticeable jerk of transmission. When starting from full stop, significant drag, then thump as transmission engages.
I can remove my ignition key from my Honda Accord 2000 ex . 4 dr. 4cyl without putting on park.
Side air bag: light comes on and turns off intermittently for no given reason. This has been happening since I bought the car in January 2007. Tried to get assistance from buerkle Honda who did not make any notes about my request. Now tell me I need a new electrical system and that it means the air bags will not work.
The vehicle's has had multiple transmission failures. The vehicles engine revved etween 4000 to 5000 rpm before the consumer noticed the vehicle was not moving forward. Once the transmission slipped into gear the consumer was whip-lashed and body slammed into my seat belt. The vehicle driver seat has a sudden shift movement while the consumer drives that occurs intermittently as vehicle rounds sharp corners and turns. In Sep 2003 sent a notice about a problem with the drivers seat loosening. The key gets stuck in the ignition. The side airbag light comes on when the consumer has something on the front passenger seat cushion. The consumer hears a rattle in the dash near the coin drawer.
