Two problems related to latches/locks/linkage have been reported for the 2000 Honda Accord. The most recently reported issues are listed below. Please also check out the statistics and reliability analysis of the 2000 Honda Accord based on all problems reported for the 2000 Accord.
The issue is I can remove the ignition key without the shift lever being in "park" on my 2000 Honda Accord, VIN [xxx]. There is a current recall, but the dealer states it does not apply to my vehicle. It should be added to the recall. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. The window regulators and power door locks on the Honda's I own keep failing and cost more than 300 dollars to repair. This seems to be a systemic problem on the Honda's. I have had this happen on all 4 doors of my 2000 Honda Accord and 2 doors on my 2004 Honda pilot. Honda needs to do a recall and fix this issue. People shouldn't have to pay for a systemic issue in the car, which can be a safety issue as well as you can't put the windows down or up once this happens.
