The contact owns a 2001 Honda Accord. The contact purchased the vehicle and was provided a copy of NHTSA campaign number: 19v182000 (air bags) by the original owner of the vehicle. The local dealer was contacted; however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The dealer refused to release the vehicle because of a "do not drive" warning on the vehicle. The contact had to sign a release form to retrieve the vehicle. The contact stated that the dealer deactivated the front driver’s side air bag. The contact stated that the air bag warning light illuminated and remained illuminated. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.
Dealer has falsely stated that past airbag recall work was completed. The timeframe they gave of completion is incorrect. We owned the car during the timeframe they said the repairs were done, but they were not done. We had a mechanic from Honda call use around the stated time (years ago, I cant recall specifically, dealer has the info), but the mechanic never came yet marked the work as completed. I asked the dealer and they ran a report and said wok was done. I'm basically driving a ticking time bomb.
The srs light comes on and once cleared/reset it will typically return after 2-4 trips. It was confirmed when the car when air bags were checked for recalls. This first appeared in 2018 with airbag recalls. It became a recurring issue in 2021 when after each reset it would return. The reset would last months and when the battery was drained it might reappear. In 2024 Jan. The reset and light return cycle become more consistent with it returning within 2-4 trips.
The airbags did not deploy during a side impact accident. A state state trooper investigated the accident.
I was driving down the road at about 45mph and the passenger side seat airbag deployed scared me causing me to pull steri g wheel just a little hitting a curb and causing my tire to blow out and destroy the fender well and pull the trim on door panel off along with cracking my front bumper my car was in amazing condition only had 75k miles stated parked in garage now it's trashed out all because the air bag went off for no reason my daughter was in back seat right behind passenger seat and white dusty stuff flew all over her please fix this before it kills someone thanks I love my Honda but will never get in another one scared for my life please fix.
Recalled airbags.
Nhtsa said owners of certain Honda Accords should not be driven since airbags could explode and be fatal to the driver. We are not allowed to drive them until it is fixed.
Side air bag light comes on and off randomly when driving no more than 25 mph and lights get brighter when I press the gas but doesn't move immediately.
The airbags failed to provide me protection during an accident on a highway. 1. Airbag was size of steering wheel, both popped upon deploying, didn't protect me from hitting and shattering windshield with my head, seatbelt help me from flying thru windshield , without protection from airbag both hands and wrists are brused in braces. . I been off work for 9 days now 2 visits to er . . I believe the airbags mafunctioned. . My car is in inland towing riverside CA. A highway patrol was present unknown if report was made , it's not letting me upload files and fotos.
Hit a tree backwards at 60mph caved in driver side quarter blew dash out ripped suspension out ripped gas tank out destroyed radiator, core support, no air bags or side airbags went off.
I’m contacting you regarding Honda company mishandling of their airbag safety recall, I own a 2001 Honda Accord ex 3. 0 and just recently I have learned about the Honda recall for my car.
Hello I recently bought a 2001 Honda Accord and was not made aware that this year make and model have had such problems that a recall was made. I wax not made aware of the grave problem this year car faced and am not recieving the help I need from Honda. This issue puts myself and my family at risk.
Hola el problema con mi Honda Accord 2001 ES que lo compre en con dueo particular y ahora me doy cuenta que no trae bolsas DE aire del conductor y pasajero necesito ayuda con eso.
Srs light is on, it went off and again is on, my auto manual indicates airbags/tensioner systems needs attention. This is a very seious problem that I cant manage without Honda offcicial authorized check. My manual indicates a lifetime warranty for this kind of issues. This problem came when I started the car and the light still on.
The VIN number lists this car as a 2001 Honda Accord coupes. There are 17 open recalls for 2001 Honda Accord 2 dr based on safecar. Gov. There are 4 open recalls for 2001 Honda Accord coupes based on the Honda recall site. For some reason none of these recalls are showing up as applicable to this vehicle based on the VIN number even though it is a 2001 Honda Accord coupe. I believe this is the result of an oversight or an error that can have potentially deadly consequences if it means that vehicles that should be in the recall are not being included.
The contact owned a 2001 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while pulling into an intersection, another vehicle crashed into the front driver's side of the contact's vehicle. Nhtsa recall number: 15v-320 I recently purchased a 2001 Honda Accord that has an airbag from a 2002 Honda Accord. The 2001 model does not have the current Honda airbag recall but the 2002 model does. The VIN for the 2002 model is 1hgcg56752a108896. Honda refused to replace the recalled airbag. I fear for my safety as my airbag could potentially cause me injury.
Takata recalls.
Takata recall.
Can some one can tell me how a get remplace my air bag.
Srs light stays on, it is apparent from googling that a lot of people have this problem, there is a lot of information on turning off the srs light, but I feel that's unsafe.

I took my car in for the air bag recall and 9 month later the srs light came on and it's been on ever since. I called the dealership the did the air bag replacement and they told me that I have to pay $150 just for a diagnosis of what the problem can be. .
Well I had purchased the car from a seller on craigslist . I had noticed a red illuminated light reading srs on my dashboard I had no knowledge of what it was after further research of what the warning sign was. Reliable source given stated that reading indicated a possible malfunction of airbags present in the car.
Takata/Honda recall both of my airbags exploded deploying poison gas that made me dizzy and confused and hard time breathing also I received a laceration/burn from fragments in airbag on my arm in a minor collission at low rates of speed wiich caused very little damage to both cars in a rainy intersection ambulance and police were on scene.
Takata recall - on Jan 10th 2017 my son was in a car accident with his 2001 Honda Accord and the airbag deployed and stuff hit him in the face he was bleeding all over his face. The car was totaled and its now sitting in a junkyard here where we live I have pictures of the car. My son was rushed to the emergency room in reno, nv. He is ok now and he a lot of cuts, bruises and had whiplash. This car was not safe for a teen to be driving for his first car! the car lost control on the highway and bounced several times off the guard rails at 65 mph.
My car was seen for recall but my car still isn't fixed to where it's safe to drive.
Trying to avoid car infront, my speed limit is 35 mph, car went down to the embankment, airbag deployed.
Takata recall. I had the takata air bag recall on my Honda Accord. I called the number that was provided in the letters Honda sent to my house. We had the takata air bag issue fixed on November 7th at the Honda location in new rochelle. After I got my car back from them, the srs light turned on which is related to air bag. I called the number back and they said they cannot do anything. I have to take it on my own and get it fixed but how does that make any sense? I called a few Honda locations and they told me they would charge me for a diagnostic! Honda puts in defective air bags and then they supposedly fix it and after that I get a light for air bags and I'm told I have to fix it on my own? extremely disappointed with Honda and their service. This is beyond frustrating.
The contact owned a 2001 Honda Accord. The contact's vehicle crashed head on into another vehicle. The air bags deployed, which caused the passenger to sustain a large cut to the left side of the forehead and right side of the head. The passenger side seat belt failed to restrain the passenger. Medical attention was required. In addition, the dashboard split in half. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to a tow lot. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
