Doors locked from inside and cannot get out unless I put my window down. Safety issue. Second time I replaced my door since I was in a car accident a few years ago. Same problem came back again after replacing the door handle it used to work for years at the driver side until recently. Also doors are unable to unlock from the switch.
I got stuck in the snow and tried to get out just spent my tires a little bit and now I have no reverse. Thats all that happened. I was in my front yard.
I was driving the car and the power steering pump went out and a week later my transmission started slipping then all of a sudden my car wouldn't go into gears and the transmission stopped working completely. It will work for 5 min then it completely won't go in any gear. I had to have it towed home. It was on the road on the bypass and I started acting up then it stopped working completely when I went to get off of work and wouldn't go in to gear at all after that. So I had to have it towed home. I had it looked at by a local mechanic and he said the car had a recall on multiple things for me to look into it because it was gonna cost around 2000 to fix everything.
According to anna, who is service representative from Honda of seattle, just giving me an update on my car, so the technician verified the lights and hesitation while driving is due to the transmission failing internally, when we drained the fluid there was debris in the old fluid and it was completely dark, which indicates that there is damage internally. Technician said rebuild of transmission is going to cost me around $6500. My car has had 106500miles.
I saw that the current owner mentioned that this car fax was clean. That is not true. My daughter was owner #2 of the car. We bought it 10/19/16. About five months later she slid on black ice on route nine in MA and crashed into a cement jersey barrier. The car was declared a total loss. It sounds like you were not made aware of this. You should report it.
They hit me on the back of the car.
My daughter drives a 2003 Honda Accord. While driving approximately 25 mph, the vehicle accelerated independently. She stomped on the brake pedal and felt soft underfoot. The brakes slowed the car but did not stop the car. My daughter took an immediate right turn into an empty parking lot and pulled the keys from the car. The car coasted to a stop. In addition, when the engine was turned off and restarted, the rpms accelerated while the vehicle was in park. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where the cause of the failure was undetermined. The dealer says that they can not find anything wrong with the car and that mechanics drove the car and were unable to reproduce the problem.
While traveling at 65mph the car suddenly down shifted almost causing a ugly car accident luckly the car behind me had good reflect and was able to swerve out of my way. No check engine light, no signs of tranny slipping prior too just a scary situation to be in.
This 03 Honda Accord has a safety recall for transmission 2nd gear issues, this safety recall was fixed in 04 but had the same issue again in 2015 and has now caused the torque converter to fail and stall on the highway, trucks and car speeding up behind us with our kids in the vehicle, this has become dangerous and no one wants to take care of the problem so that nothing happens further, I haven't had the vehicle for no more than a year.
Driving at approx 50-55 mph, my car suddenly and abruptly jerked several times, like a sudden hard brake, then let loose. Did this intermittently a few times then no more on this particular day. The next time I drove it, it did one hard sudden jerk, so I pulled over. The car did not move in drive after that, had to be towed, since the front axle broke from the sudden jerking. The jerking or braking, as it seemed, was very frightening as it felt like it would throw me off the road or someone from behind would hit me. The car's tires squealed because it jerked so hard and it would throw my head against the head rest. Very frightening at 55 miles an hour!! I took it in and it was discovered that the clutch was sending debris into the transmission causing it to plug up and the transmission was trying to go into 2 gears at the same time causing it to stop suddenly, then let loose. It does this after about 20-30 minutes of driving when it has warmed up the fluids in the transmission. The transmission has to be rebuilt. This seems like a recall issue, as this is common with this vehicle they said. Could very easily cause death or injury if it happens on icy roads or in traffic!! thankfully I did not have to drive on the freeway and that it is not winter, because it could very easily have thrown me into another car or another car hit me from behind or lost control on an icy roadway and spun into the ditch or worse, been killed!! it very much scared the mechanic when he drove it also.
In July of 2015, I went outside to start my car and only to find out that my car won't start. After trying for several hours and a day later, I went back to try again, my car finally started. Few days after that incident, it happened again. This time, I was about to leave for work and it won't start until after two days of trying and it finally started. The most resent time was on August 4, 2015 in charlotte, north carolina while about to leave, I got into my car and start it, it won't start. I sat there trying for two hours before it finally started.
Hi! as you can see, I am an owner of a Honda Accord 2003. I have recently taken it for a replacement of the passenger airbag. While I was doing some research, I found that this specific year and model, had had some other issues or recalls too. For example, the transmission system. His caught my attention since I think I do have a problem probably related to it. I bought this car in may last year, from an acquaintance, and soon after, I noticed a shaking in the gas pedal, every time I was accelerating between 25 to 35 mph (city and highway). The shaking always go away when I stop speeding it for a second, and then continue to accelerate. It happens again and again. It first, and because the check engine turn on, I took it to the mechanic, and I was told that I needed to replace the catalytic. Well, I did it and. . . The problem persisted. Am I in danger here?. Ok, I will wait for your response. In the meantime, as might undersatand, I will document this request, just in case something happens. Thank you for your time and attention!!!.
I have owned four Hondas and have never encountered or heard of issues like this before I bought my 2003 Honda Accord. I take very good care of my cars and do not drive them hard either. I bought my 03 Accord in 2010 and had no idea that I was driving what is tantamount to a ticking time bomb. Roughly a month ago, my tach started slipping and the car started jerking and clunking while I was driving it. The problems do not begin at a set amount of time behind the wheel. It starts I the lower gears and I can tell it is starting when I decrease my speed to a stop, at 10 miles per hour the car ?shudders? and ?clunks?. It progressively gets worse and the higher gears become affected. I was on the freeway, on my way home from an appointment in the middle lane. I was traveling at roughly 55 ? 60 miles per hour when the entire car violently jerked. It was enough to throw my head into the steering wheel. I immediately went to exit the highway when I noticed that my car was now in neutral. I babied the car home and checked the fluid. It was fine. The problem has gotten worse and I can no longer drive my car without being willing to be injured or worse. The cost of replacing or repairing the transmission is not a possibility. I now have a car that I cannot fix and cannot drive. It is unconscionable that a car company that is built on its reliability would not acknowledge and fix this problem. Does someone need to die first? I guess that I am unwilling to risk getting behind the wheel of a Honda again. The scariest part of this whole situation was that I was going to put my 16 year old daughter in this car. Something needs to be done?now.
All of a sudden car get stop though engine was running on highway. There is no check engine warning. Auto gears started slipping.
Chrome plating of interior door handle peeled back and created a thin sharp edge. When I reached for the handle, to open the door, I cut my middle finger on the raised chrome plating. I suffered a laceration that became infected and ultimately put me in the hospital. I received I. V. Antibiotics for a week and will continue taking oral antibiotics for another week.
I was getting off the off ramp at about 35mph taking a right turn when the transmission made a jerking motion and slipped. I let off the accel and applied the accel a couple times before it engaged again got to my destination went shopping. Went to leave and I had no reverse. Shifted threw the gears nothing. I turned the car off and on to find the I could now back up. I put the car into drive to find out the car would only drive in first gear on drive. It would not shift gears. I have my car parked till I figure out what to do and how this issue can be reolves. I called Honda but they where no help and want me to spend money that I dont have to figure it out and fix the issue.
We were driving down the highway and all of the sudden we heard a loud crashing sound above our heads. We pulled over and discovered the sunroof had exploded. There was not any inclement weather nor was there a object that hit it. It exploded and shattered from the middle. After researching on the internet, this has happened to several Honda owners, different makes and models. When contacting Honda they said there was no recall. Although some dealerships replaced the sunroof for free. This is a safety issue if glass explodes above your head while driving. It's also not an insurance issue. Feel free to google "Honda sunroof explodes", lots of affected consumers. This definitely needs to be a recall.
As driving along normally, the car started to downshift and rev up very high, sudden drop of speed came and the car behind me almost rear ended me. When checked online, it was the transmission that has failed and it has happened to everyone who owned this year model.
I purchased my 2003 Accord brand new from a Honda dealership. In 2004 there was a recall to fix a defect with second gear in the transmission. My car was fixed under the recall (or so I thought). I have been having continuous problems with second gear slipping. In other words when the car is in second gear it feels like its in neutral because you step on the gas and the car does not move. You have to wait for the car to shift again. You never know when or where it will happen. On 11/17/14 I was trying to get on the highway. I made a left turn to enter the highway when the second gear slipped. My car was stuck under a traffic light when the traffic light changed from green to red. Oncoming traffic was approaching my vehicle at 65-70mph. I was almost broad sided. Honda knows about this defect and will not replace the transmission in my car. There have been several class action lawsuits against Honda for this problem. I believe this is a serious safety issue not just for me because I own the car, but for anyone who is operating a vehicle on the roadways. Honda should be held accountable for this defect. I also have a takata airbag which is not subject to the recall. So I have 2 problems, the defect with the transmission puts me at a higher risk for getting into and accident. If I am in an accident and the airbag goes off, I could be injured and/or killed by the airbag. How can Honda get away with this?.
Transmission failure. . . Suddenly disengaged! luckily I was not on the freeway (I-80); only driving 35 miles per hour three block from home.
My daughter had just left the house, she was maybe 1/4 mile from the house and she said it felt like her steering wheel locked up so she started hitting the brakes. She was headed into a curve but the car would not turn so she crashed into an embankment which slung the passenger side of the car into a tree. Both airbags deployed. She had 5 staples in her head, a concussion, a bruised lung, and some pelvic bleeding. She is still recovering from the concussion. I believe it was the air bag that caused the most physical damage to her head. But I can not understand what cut the gash in her head.
I have had many incidents of my car not shifting from 2nd to 3rd for the last couple years, but on July 25th, 2014 I was approaching a red light with two cars in front of me in a 45 mph zone. I was at 40mph when I put my brakes on but the car would not downshift and the engine was racing. Finally just before I got to the cars, my car downshifted with a tremendous lurch. I then drove to a nearby parking lot. The car lurched the entire way which was about 2 blocks.
This has happened 3 times in just a couple of weeks and probably would have occurred more but I'm scared to drive it and only do so when necessary now. I live off a one lane highway on the mountains and should this happen with someone right behind me, I fear my life being in jeopardy.
2003 Honda Accord with under 80,000 miles. V6 with automatic transmission. Transmission started slipping while making turn in neighborhood. While turning, pressing the gas only raised the rpms, but the car was not moving. I thought I was going to get hit by oncoming traffic. After trying to re-create trouble, it appears if the car tries to downshift into a low gear and gas is applied heavily, the car red lines and does not shift gears. This was a bad moment for this to happen. Very dangerous to think pressing the gas pedal has the potential not to move. Slow acceleration and the transmission shifts fine, but if you need to get out of the way, you can't accelerate hard.
The condenser as been ruptured twice due to debris on the street which as caused 500 dollars in repairs. Ruptured again two weeks after that was repaired. This issued needs to be addressed, have had several cases never experienced a issues such as this. However it's causing a uncomfortable driving experience and a lot of money that I don't have to repair a unnecessary repair. This needs to be recalled because it is clearly a design flaw that Honda has to know about.
I purchased a Honda Accord ex about 30 days ago, used, of course. The ignition switch is locking. I can turn the car off but it takes me about 10 min to wiggle the key out. I have to turn car on or halfway on and off in hopes of getting the key out. The gear shift indicator on the dashboard reads as though the car is in park and drive at the same time. Honda doesnt have a recall for this but per my research it happens to a lot of people and has to be more than a user error. I may have to pay allthis money to get something fixed that is faulty in the car and should be replaced as the key should be able to come out with no issue.
A/c compressor leaked freon (all of it).
While traveling at about 60 mph on the highway the the vehicle stalled out, and due to light traffic the driver was able to pull over safely. The transmission would no longer take, when placed in any gear. The vehicle was towed home.
Transmission will not or struggles to move in or out of second gear.
On June 28, 2013 I got into my car and tried to crank up my car. My ignition switch would not turn over to crank the car. I found this to be surprising when I did'nt have problems with my switch in the past. I called Honda, they indicated that it maybe my key, or my ignition switch, and to bring it in for an inspection. After the inspection Honda stated that I needed a new ignition switch that would cost $1000. After I was told what I had to pay for the repair, I asked was there any recalls on the ignition switch, the dealer said "no" I later called an attorney for the matter he ask for my VIN # and he would look into it. After looking into the matter he indicated that my car was not under warrenty and to call 18009991009 Honda services. I called Honda they informed me that I had an inspection for the ignition switch in 2010. I think Honda is not telling the truth, I feel I was over charged, for the repair.
I was driving around 20 mph when my car starts revving and the car doesnt move. It happens between 20mph-40mph. I was to pull over then start driving again. It happens more often then not now.
I received a letter in the mail for a recall. I called to get in and get fixed. I drove my car in there perfectly fine. When I received my car back there was no power steering. I couldn't even put my car into a parking spot. The first thing the employee said to me that gave me my car was, "something is wrong, you need to make sure that they fix this. " ray underwood the owner/manager laughed in my face and told me there was nothing they could do for me. He left me there stranded. I am a young woman with a young child (under a year old). They wanted to charge me around $800 for something I didn't do and couldn't even "guaruantee to fix it. " they didn't turn the wheel to get the oxygen out when replacing the power steering hose. They just wanted to scam me and get my money. . Now I am left with a huge knick in my driver's side door that was not there the morning I dropped my vehicle off. They are unwilling to help resolve the issue. The manager has no heart and has no problem leaving a young woman stranded at their location unless they sign a paper saying they will pay hundreds of dollars, then puts a knick in your car and says there's nothing I can do and there's no way to prove it. I asked for a copy of the walk around inspection and that scratch was not on there. I advised immediately when I saw it taht night and ray underwood keeps saying there is nothing he can do for me. My husband just got a new vw sportwagen, I have been looking at the pilot and new Accord for a while now and I will tell you I will never again by a Honda after the way I was treated and now no one will fix the situation. I can't believe you are letting this man represent your brand. If I would have attempted to pull out in the busy intersection with the way they gave my car back to me it would have been a huge liability issue. I would have been so badly hurt and/or injured.
On 4/28/13 I was driving on the highway when my vehicle began to violently jerk and almost caused me to crash into a car in front of me. This has happened to me a few months back and Honda checked and replaced the auto trans recall. Now today Honda tells me the transmission is gone and I will need to replace it at $4,000. I just got this car only 11 months ago and not even put 40,000 miles on it now I need a new transmission? this is outrageous and unacceptable to me. I purchased the car with 115,000 miles on it, now its at 150,000 and I need a new trans?.
The transmission is well on its way out slipping only use official Honda dw-1 fluid still no help Honda needs to fix this problem they have a defective transmission and they know it.
Vehicle slams into 3rd gear, or slips out of gear, locked up one tie.
