Failure Date: 01/09/2017

The cluster lights and the dome light will get dim. The dome light does when you open the doors. The cluster lights will while the head lights are on. The lights on the radio do the same. The radio will make a loud noise and stop playing until you turn off and turn back on. The wiring to back speakers is put in wrong dont work at all. The seat belts will lock when trying to pull them and it dont matter if its in motion or stationary.

2 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 10/15/2015

The head unit failed making the entire control panel dark. The only way to repair this is to have to purchase an entire audio unit which did not fail. Parts were the front panel for $243. 44 and the head unit for 900. 65 plus installation costs. As this was a safety issue we had no choice but to replace. The lights should not fail and the cost is excessive requiring replacement of working parts.

3 Exterior Lighting problem

Front lights get dim inconsistently and cannot see at night.

4 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 12/21/2014

This is the second time that this vehicle causes an accident due to involuntary acceleration defect. I was coming to a complete stop to park the car when all of a sudden it accelerated on its own and sped into a building. First it hit an iron bench pushing it into the wall. The car missed hitting a young mother and her four little kids by mere seconds. My insurance company sent one of their own adjusters to inspect the damages, and determined that the car should be repaired. In the meantime the people at the body shop where the car was towed to kept telling me that the car was not safe to be put on the road again. I pleaded with my insurer to have it totaled as I was too afraid to drive it again after two accidents, and my conscience did not allow me to sell the car after the repairs putting somebody else in same kind of danger. I also called Honda, but their reply was that Honda was not going to do anything about it. Honda folks were even annoyed that I called them saying that my insurer was the one to contact them through the proper channels. Finally my insurance agreed to total the car. However, I saw that the car was sold to an auction dealer listing it as "salvage title/rebuildable. " the car is for sale again stating that it will cost $4,872. 00 to fix it. My insurance company increased my premiums considerably considering me the party at fault. I ask NHTSA to act quickly to stop this unsafe and unfair practice.

5 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 10/02/2013

It crashed into a suudenly stopped car. Nothing changed.

6 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 10/17/2011

Car was running fine. No problems. All of a sudden the airbag light came on. I stopped the car and checked the seat on the passenger side and seat belts trying to figure out why it was on. I got back into the car and continued home. When slowing to turn into driveway a loud banging noise occured. The car was put in park and immediately started rolling backwards. This could have been a hazard if a car had been passing by or if this had happened in busy traffic. I could have rolled back and hurt someone, hurt myself or rolled back into oncoming trafic. Also if someone had been walking behind the car and gotten ran over and killed. Anyway it was later towed to a dealer and diagnostics ran. The dealer informed me that I needed a new transmission. That is not right. My car was like new with a little over 68 thousand miles on it. I still owe on it and purchased it brand new. Honda should be responsible for this. Since this has happened to me and I have begun to research this I found a ton of recalls for this same problem, yet I am told my car is a 6 cylinder and is not under recall. Please help. I was told it would cost me 4400 plus $ to replace the transmission. Honda should be responsible for this cost.

7 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2011

My car started having issues with the lights. The indoor and outdoor lights would continually fade out and then return and then fade again. Often I had no lights on my dash or radio. My windows stopped working automatically on the right side. We could not lower the window. The locks stopped working occasionally. All of this is something I had a problem with my other Honda as well. It was the same make model and year!! I thought it was just a fluke but when I got this car the same problems started.

8 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 02/11/2011

Over 6 months ago, I noticed that the light which shows what gear you are in on the shift column on the floorboard wasn't staying lit. Sometimes it would come on when I started the car and other times not. Sometimes if I thumped on the shifter on purpose, it would come back on. Then several weeks ago my radio stopped working. At first there was no sound but then a very loud weird noise started happening and it is extremely loud. The only way to stop the noise is to turn the radio off. Then at other times you turn on the radio and it works fine. Not long after that I was driving one night and all the lights on the dash flicked off and on again very quickly. It did it several times during my 3 hour trip and then stopped and I hadn't noticed it again until today. Today my husband was driving and the check engine light came on and stayed on. I know sometimes if you don't click your fuel cap three times after refueling it can cause the light to come on but I have not refueled in several weeks. A few minutes later the abs light came on, went off and then came on again. Shortly after this, all the lights on the dash flashed on and off again several times very quickly. The battery is not that old and this can happen whether it's wet or dry conditions. The user manual said the check engine light is emission related but there are so many other things happening that I wonder if this is some sort of electrical problem. It is scary when it happens because suddenly all the lights on the dash cannot be seen so you can't see the spedometer needle or anything. It's ok if it happens in daylight but is truly unsafe if it happens at night.

9 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 03/12/2010

The airbag warning light on my 2005 Honda Accord ex-l was illuminated. I took the vehicle to my Honda dealer and they replaced the wiring subharness. This was the same symptom, issue and resolution as NHTSA campaign #06e064000. My vehicle was not in the included in the VIN numbers recalled per that campaign and I feel that Honda didn't resolve the manufacturing defect by the time my vehicle was produced. In other words, I don't think Honda recalled all vehicles affected.

10 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 06/11/2006

As I was coming to a complete stop, parking, the car sped up involuntarily. I kept pressing on the brakes, but it did not make any difference until the car was stopped by hitting a building. I was told that the dealer inspected the brakes while the car was at the body shop, and did not find anything wrong with them. The car was repaired, and I continued driving it. The involuntary acceleration occurred several times again, but I did not think anything of it because I was not coming to a complete stop, and it adjusted its speed again. Until. . . I had another accident eight years later due to none other than involuntary acceleration. See a separate complaint.
