40 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/07/2015

I began hearing a disturbing mechanical rattle on cold starts and started to become more excessive during the winter months. It was confirmed that the vtc actuator was the problem and I contacted Honda America for a solution and assistance but they denied any goodwill service because of the age and miles on my car even thou its a common problem with every 2008 Accord 2. 4l kseries engine. My 2003 Accord, sounds much better at start up than my 2008. Kind of sad since it's over 200,000 miles now. The grinding sounds so bad it has to be damaging to something in the engine. With so many complaints from all the 2008 v4 owners, I don't know why Honda is acknowledging this problem and release a service bulletin but not a free replacement of the troubled parts. This is very frustrating given and I am very unhappy with Honda's customer service. After speaking with casy with american Honda this morning, he stated that a recall has not been made because it has not caused an immediate harm to consumers. So, if I understand him correctly, harm to a consumer has to happen before something is done to a known problem????.

42 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/19/2015

I purchased new tires about a year ago. Tires had less than 30,000 on them. Back tires still had 90% tread but getting a vibration. Took car to the body shop and was told that the rear end of my vehicle was badly out of alignment. . I could see it with my naked eyes. The problem is that the rear tires can not be aligned. There is no way to adjust the camber on the back tires, so no matter what you will always have vibration and alway unevenly where your tires. Only way I can see to fix this, is to install adjustable cambers, but if this is a desig flaw and Honda already acknowledged it with a service bulletin addressing there Honda civics, then why should I have to pay for the fix. I am totally disgusted with Honda.

43 Equipment problem

Oil low at oil change.

44 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/13/2015

I was driving on the interstate and heard a loud sound and saw that the sunroof/moonroof glass exploded. Nothing hit it. No one was driving in front of me. I know it exploded because it puckered out almost in a volcano shape. Glass was everywhere.

45 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2015

My model year 2008 Accord coupe ex model has been burning oil for a long time. A few years ago I had the TSB completed on it that reprogrammed the computer and was supposed to fix the issue. As of now the car is still burning oil and has developed a new problem. My check engine light is on with error code p0341 which is for the cam position sensor. This is with combination of a loud rattle for a few seconds coming from the engine bay when the car is first started. I am concerned to drive the car and hope that Honda could diagnose and fix this problem for me. I believe Honda extended the engine warranty to 8 years and 125,000 miles.

2008 Honda Accord. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle touch screen dangers.

47 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/04/2015

Waved on as clear to go by the person looking the only way traffic could be legally coming; my wife proceeded to attempt to cross an intersection. Unbeknownst to her and the person that waved her in an all clear manner was that someone was speeding down the middle or turning lane in the same direction that stopped traffic was facing and hit her at an estimated speed of 50 mph. He hit her front driver's side and spun her around striking the vehicle a second time. No airbags deployed and my wife was taken in a c-collar by ambulance to a local hospital. When the eye injury was discovered to be beyond the scope of the er team at the initial hospital she was transported downtown to a trauma center to have her eye evaluated for retinal tear or other trauma. No airbags deployed. Not front or side curtain not passenger nor driver's side. My wife's head hit multiple times, door window twice and steering wheel to the best of her recollection. Black eye and visual disturbance that has yet to resolve five days later. Culpability aside I am concerned that the airbags on our vehicle did not deploy in a crash of that magnitude.

48 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/03/2014

Driver side front door automatic lock mechanism failed.

49 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/18/2014

I was driving and the driver's side visor flopped down obstructing my view. This had happened on the passenger side a few years ago and after I had it replaced the recall came out. Please let me know if Honda will replace it. It is very dangerous to drive along and have the visor fall. It will not stay up, only partially so it falls about 3 inches.

50 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/28/2014

Few months ago my car locks started to lock, unlock, lock, unlock, etc every time when my driving speed passed 10 mph. Then I noticed that my driver side rear door was unlocking in few seconds after I locked my car doors. Last night my car locked itself (except driver side read door). This is definitely a safety issue for a single woman. Very unsafe to park in public places when you cannot lock the car doors. Today I am at Honda and waiting for the final bill for their repair. I told them that there are thousands of complaint of this issue, but the service technicians is not aware (???).

Failure Date: 03/20/2013

Check engine light went on. Got car serviced and general maintenance. Came back on. Mechanic couldn't figure it out but found vdap code. Over $1000 in repairs and check-engine light keeps coming back on. No one can figure out why the vdap code keeps reappearing and check-engine light has been reappearing for one and half years.

57 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2013

Intermittent sudden uncontrolled acceleration. When merging into highway traffic or passing, vehicle continuously accelerates even when no braking; revs go up to 5000 and stays there even when stomping on brakes in attempt to slow the vehicle down. Only way to stop the sudden acceleration is to put car in neutral. Due to intermittent nature of problem, dealer could not fix during warranty period. Scheduled dealer appointment twice in 2011 and 2013, both times problem could not be duplicated.

60 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/16/2011

When starting Honda for the first time during the day or after it has sit for a while, it makes a noise or rough start up. I have done some research and found out what the issues is, it is vtc actuator. I have read numerous complaints about this issue. If I had known at the time that this was going to be an issue I would not have purchased this vehicle. But the sales man knew when to start the car away from us, didn't find out till the day after the purchase. We bought it used. The part is a bit pricey and Honda should be responsible for this charge, since it is not the first car that has had this issue. It seems to be a bad year for the Accord. I would like this to be fixed.

Honda put a recall on my car. They would delete or fix the recall. Nose mask, I never had a nose mask. They wasted a lot of my time. I went to Honda dealership twice. They just told me to call 1800-999-1009. They told me it is NHTSA's fault. Please investigate this case. Delete "the incompleted recall" from my vehicle's record.

65 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/09/2009

Honda will not fix their recall nor delete the recall. I need this recall off my record.

66 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2009

Car locking/unlocking alarm on/off remote activator. When care purchased new, remote worked fine up to 30 feet from vehicle. After a year and seven months, the distance was reduced to one foot; then you still have to push remote several times. Honda replaced the remotes (warranty), now after only one moth the problem is beginning again.

67 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/05/2009

Today I almost wreck because I could not see the turn signal on a 2008 or2009 Honda Accord because of the daytime running lights. The lights are next to the turn signal and are so bright they block the turn signal flash.

68 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/12/2008

2008 Honda ex-l Accord coupe - during low light conditions (late evening/night) the headlights flicker every 10 -13 seconds. I constantly see other drivers gesturing at me as if I'm flicking my hi-beams at them. Honda says that this is normal and says there is no fix . This is the first new car I've owned that has this problem. The battery is a little bigger than a motorcycle battery. This condition I believe is dangerous to on-coming traffic. This could also lead to failures of various other electronic control systems due to the fluctuating power spikes which could lead to devastating consequences while on the highway or freeway.

69 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/10/2008

Both remote controls lose range of operation within months of replacing batteries. This has become very frustrating, where I often need to be standing right next to the car to lock/unlock it. I actually reverted to using the remote of my Honda remote car starter instead of the key remote itself (of which has its own set of problems).

70 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/08/2008

Bought a new Honda Accord 2008 in August 2008. This weekend the ac stopped working because a rock has made a tiny hole in the ac condenser. I am not happy with the response that the Honda dealer said. He said that the warranty doesn't cover this. Is this my fault driving on the road. Where else should I drive? I have to pay a huge amount to get it working now. I want Honda as a company responsible for this and want to sued it for making such bad designs. I am mentally affected by this incident which is no fault of mine. I don't feel comfortable driving now as some other part may break because I am driving on the us roads.
