1 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2020

My husband and I were on a trip and I didn't realize it, but people kept flashing us and I did not have my lights on. When we pulled over, my husband could not get out of his side of the door. It would not open. We were on the freeway, on a cold rainy day and visibility was bad, and not being able to have lights, or defroster work properly put us in a hazardous position. Later I found out as I took it to a mechanic was that our fuse box was not working correctly, and the lights on the right side only and the door and the defroster were not working. It cost me $951. 09 to get this repaired on my 2008 Honda Accord. I think when people get in a car, and drive it especially in hazardous conditions, everything should work properly. I did see on several sites there was a recall on this, but I never received a recall letter, or was contacted by my dealer. I would like to be reimbursed for the $951. 09 OH, and I also would like other Honda owners to be aware of this problem. It could possibly prevent an accident, someone in dire situation that affects their safety. The car was being driven on a rainy day, and the defroster could not clear the windows, we could not put the heater on, could not roll the window down, could not get out of the car because the lock would not come up. Regards, amy lowery.

2 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 03/23/2014

Vehicle sun visor, when being lowered, snapped and something inside appeared to break rendering the visor unable to return to the up position. Same thing happened about two years ago to the drivers side visor and this is the passengers side. I replaced the first breakage myself at a cost of about $90 for replacement. I am getting tired of replacing Honda's poorly designed safety equipment. Vehicle is a 2008 Honda Accord lx-p. This is a well maintained adult driven car which was bought new. My sixth new Honda and maybe my last. Honda says not covered except for three years initial warranty. One breaking may be a fluke but when both break within two years, poorly designed part. When partially in the down position, they create a distracting and potentially dangerous condition.

3 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2013

Tl- the contact owns a 2008 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the sun visors failed to stay in the up position. The vehicle will be repaired. The manufacturer was contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was 123,000. The VIN was unavailable. Rvk.

4 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 04/16/2012

Sun visor will no longer stay up. Creates visibility problem.

5 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 03/26/2010

I have a 2008 Honda Accord. Each of the past 3 months, the windshield wipers have failed to work properly during use. Each time, they would be working and would stop. Honda service technicians replaced the windshield wiper motor after the 1st and 3rd incident. I believe they modified the bearings after the 2nd incident. The parts appear to fail about every 30 days or so.

6 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 10/20/2009

2008 Honda Accord drivers windshield wiper drags the water it was suppose to wipe away back into the operators field of vision. Starts at 40 to 45 mph with steady rain and worsens as the vehicle speed increases, at 70 it is bad. Dealer says that it does it on all Accords and there is no fix.

7 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 09/21/2009

2008 Honda Accord drivers windshield wiper drags the water it was suppose to wipe away back into the operators field of vision. Starts at 40 to 45 mph with steady rain and worsens as the vehicle speed increases, at 70 it is bad. I have pictures. Blade replaced 3 times, arm replaced once, no help. Honda has been notified. Honda is stonewalling me by not contacting back after their initial call, threatening to assume the concern is repaired after sending me a letter that said in 10 days they assume the complaint is no longer a concern. Poor customer service. Other people with 2008 Accords have the same problem. (edmunds carspace).

8 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 06/17/2009

The plastic sun visor split at the seam. Now it will not fold up flat against the ceiling, causing it to be a visibility issue. The visor will not fold all the way out, therefore blocking more of the road than preferred. Since it will not fold up either, it sticks out directly at my head. This visor breaks about every 10,000 miles, with below average use of the visor (less than 10 times a week).

9 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 11/29/2008

2008 Honda Accord sedan. While driving in a steady rain at 55 mph and above the rain water collects on the windshield near the driver's side a-frame pillar. The windshield wiper removes the water from the windshield but because of the design of the a-frame pillar it allows the rain water to return to about 1/4 of the driver's viewing area thus obstructing the view until the wiper returns to remove the water. This process continues until either the rain lets up or speed is reduced. Having this obstructed view is a hazard for the driver. I was told by the salesperson when I bought the vehicle the a-frame pillar was redesigned so that wind would be funneled away from the driver and passenger front side windows but this redesign does not allow water to be completely removed from the windshield. I have also experienced this hazard at other times than the November 29, 2008 incident.

10 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2008

Sun visor falls down, obscuring vision. Bought car brand new, visor started falling down within first 4 months of owning. Repeatedly reported to dealership, was always blown-off as "that's not covered and nothing we can do about it". Have inquired at different dealers; unable to get rectified. This is a safety issue. The dealer also blew me off when I kept reporting to them something was wrong w/brakes, from day one --as well as I repeatedly tried to get them to explain and address why my airbag light kept going off and on intermittently from day one. Both of those issues turned into recalls! but still cannot get anyone to listen to me that the sunvisor constantly falling- again, from almost day one - is in fact, a safety issue, or even get them to fix this!.

11 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 07/28/2008

While driving at night time the headlights flicker 1 to 2 times per minute. If the a/c unit or heater/defroster are on it occurs 2 to 3 times per minute. Twice while driving with the defroster and windshield wipers on. The headlights stayed dim for 2 to 3 seconds. I took the car to the Honda dealer were I purchased it. They said they already had other vehicles with this problem and there was no fix. I returned one month later, the service manager gave me the Honda 800# and told me to call Honda motor corp. The answer I get there is no recall.

12 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 03/13/2008

Lights go dim and then brighten back up very often like every few seconds, other drivers think I'm flashing them this action seems to be very un safe for drivers. Also when raining the wipers pull the rain water back down the windshield about half way down the drivers side from the a frame.
