Alternator caught on fire.
Had to replace the battery. Turns out the alternator was not charging the battery. I then replaced the alternator. The alternator was contaminated with oil from the vvt. The variable valve timing solenoid assembly that is located above the alternator needs to be replaced also. Otherwise the oil leak will damage the alternator again.

2009 Honda Accord. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle misfiring and lights illuminated on dash.
The srs unit has failed which is an acknowledged problem in some 2008-2010 Honda Accords but my particular model is not eligible for the recall. Considering the failure and the acknowledgment from Honda on this exact issue, my car should be eligible for the recall free of charge. I came to know about this problem because of the airbag indicator light being on.
Missing some of the dashboard lights on the 2009 Honda Accord; mainly radio, climate and shifter button displays; rest of the dashboard lights work and still have functionality.
We have found that are 2009 Honda Accord has a parasitic draw we have to pull fuses so the battery does not go dead within hours. Have tried new batteries, charge batteries. Through our own research people are calling this problem a parasitic draw from the battery and its a matter of tracing wires down and pulling fuses. And if you want to use car without running battery down my husband has pulled a fuse or two but this disables several things radio, some dashboard functions. Which if it keeps going could be problematic on the function of the Honda maybe affecting lights eventually or other safety features. So would like to see how many other people are experiencing this problem and how bad it can get and how it can be fixed. Some people were disconnecting wires to remedy the problem and don't want to do that. When we bought car it had to be jump started. So the problem has only increased as time has passed.
Airbag light is on and the recall for the module was completed several months ago oddly enough the srs light and tps are on as well all came in about the same time but unknown as to why.
The tpms warning light periodically appears despite the fact that the tire pressure is not low on my 2009 Honda Accord. The tpms light has remained on for the last few days even though I have verified that the tire pressure is normal. The car was driven on highways and city streets while the light remained on.
Power window rear rt - won't close. The motor gets very hot. Very unsafe, had my mechanic disconnect the motor. The window started opening on its own while I was in motion & wouldn't close. When engine is on, the motor is on all the time and could cause a fire when key is on positiin. I just realized that this had to be the cause of the melted molding only on that one window. Rarely open this window throughout the years.
My driver side (left) courtesy light will not automatically turn on when the door(s) open nor when the remote is used to unlock the car. Yes the switch is set to door mode. Yes the light works when manually pushed. Yes all other lights come on when the door(s) open. The bulb is fine, the fuse is fine, and the door-light switch is fine. I find this to be a safety issue, not particularly regarding driving, but for my physical safety. I need this issue resolved so if I need to use this light in particular, I can.
Engine surged and vehicle sped up, on it's own, when pulling into a parking lot. Vehicle collided with boulders and railroad ties causing damage to the front, rear, undercarriage, and ruptured the fuel tank. When the vehicle came to rest, people were yelling for the occupents to "get out" of the vehicle, because fuel was gushing all over the ground. Driver is 84 and passenger is 82. Both sustained injuries to their spines and driver is still in the hospital as of 3/8/2015. Needless to say, this could have been much worse.

Drivers side window motor has stopped working not allowing window to roll up/down. The dealer is attempting to say it is the after market tinting. I have had the same tinting on all four windows since a few days after I purchased the car, but driver's side is the only window that the motor will no longer work. My husband's civic has the same issue on his driver's side window.

The car is equiped with the v6 engine that has vcm (variable cyinder management). I have read several different reasons for the problem at hand but, the car is consuming far more oil than it should. From the consuming of the oil it is also causing spark plugs to foul. There are tons of forums online with people that have the same complaint as well as a class action law suit that was filed sometime in 2012. From everything I have read from researching the problem, Honda either denies there is a problem with the vehicle, supposedly installs some computer upgrade that doesnt fix the problem, tells people their engine needs to be rebuilt, is told they need to run a different type of oil, or iike myself was told that it is completely normal for these engines to consume 1 quart of oil per 1000 miles driven. Its seems as though there is a problem with the valves or valve seals sealing off completely. It is a well known problem yet Honda is not doing anything to rememdy the problem.

The contact is concerned that the windows and sunroof could open during rainy weather conditions and cause extensive damage to her vehicle. She filed a complaint with the manufacturer. The VIN was unavailable when the complaint was filed. The current and failure mileages were approximately 3,000.
My wife and I bought a 2009 Honda Accord from john hinderer Honda. Every 27-30 seconds the headlights flash when running anything like defrost or a/c unit. She has been experiencing road rage harassment as people believe she is flashing them at night while driving home from medical assisting school in worthington, ohio. We took to dealer they tested it inside as well as two other vehicles they had of same year and saw that all vehicles had same problem. They say it is normal to save gas. Doesnt seem the savings are worth the risks to me. Dealership seems to be slow in responding to this and Honda corp refuses to run a campaign until enough people call or report it. I also don't feel its safe to basically be driving a strobe light.
A 2009 Honda Accord headlight flicker when ac or heather fan turns on.
2009 Honda Accord head light blink every 27 seconds when a/c is on Honda sees it normal a characteristic According to Honda I didn't see this on the window sticker anywhere nor was I informed about by my sales man just 4 different service departments apparently is a very large problem of the car ,its just plain dangerous, there is no fix unless ,somebody starts a campaign,or enough people call Honda and complain after spending a little time on the internet there seams to thousands of people with the same problem.
