general problems of the 2009 Honda Accord

1st the check engine light continues to come on, when it does it makes loud noise and seems to either speed up like idling to fast or loss of power, continues the normal maintained, already replaced the head gaskets and belts it burns through so much oil when we do test on car they say catalytic convertor and then it will stop and work and some thing over and over again, I have 157000 on my car the leather in the car it is forming hard spots on seats front and back I don't have other passengers its like the seats are superglued . I have heard Honda is aware of these problems and with this amt of complaints why is not Honda heard accountable, in park city a fire started due to faulty catalytic convertor I don't want that to happen to me.

We are experiencing excessive oil consumption with mileage under 80,000 with our 2008/2009 Honda Accord. We have discovered there has been a settlement for this problem on vehicles with a warrantee. Honda has given us a run around about our complaints saying the our car is old, suggesting therefore that we need to get a newer model, and by calling us back for two 1,000 mile checks and not taking ownership of the problem they know exists. My wise husband went on line because of his suspicions of their actions and learned he was correct: there have been enough of these problems reported with this model car that there has been a class action suit with a settlement extending the warrantee. Honda is reported as issuing TSB #11-033 in July 2011. We did not receive that bulletin. Why?.

While driving at about 55 mph on route I-287 in morristown, NJ, the car began to shake badly and the engine made a loud rumbling noise. I got the car to my local service station in morristown, where my mechanic told me that one of my spark plugs had failed to function, having been badly oil fouled. He replaced the spark plug and said the computer scanner showed code p0303 misfire cylinder #3. He also noted that Honda has a service campaign for piston ring replacement initiated in 2013 to correct the problem. I brought the car to Honda on Monday, February 13. They replaced 3 of the 4 spark plugs in question (1 having already been replaced) and updated the car's computer program, calling that step one in solving the problem. The Honda service manager explained that Honda's protocol for this is to update the software and replace spark plugs and then wait to see if it happens again. (I later confirmed this protocol by phone with Honda America. ) lacking that, Honda will not reimburse the dealership if they do the repair, but this fix seems to work about half the time. When the service campaign was initiated in 2013, I was not notified. Clearly, Honda recognized that there was a problem of oil leaking into the cylinders but did not issue a recall, as I believe they should have. In my case, my engine failed while I was driving at high speed on a major highway. This is not something I would like to happen again, but my local mechanic says it definitely will happen again, because Honda did not fix the problem. Replacing spark plugs is no more than a band aid. I'm left with a serious and expensive problem, and Honda's intention is to skirt the real issue by risking my safety in order to avoid accountability.

On 9/7/2015, I shut my passenger door to my 2009 Honda Accord and the side air bag deployed. I have been battling Honda north America and have had two independent insurance adjusters verify that the air bag was not deployed due to any type of collision. The car was stationary and parked when this occurred.

I was driving through a neighborhood one night on my way home and my car just stopped and cut off in the middle of the street. It would not turn back on so I called aaa. Once aaa arrived, they stated that it was my battery. He then said this battery is not any good, I told him I had just bought it 6 months prior from aaa . So the driver replaced my battery for free. This would be my 3rd battery in 1. 5 years. New problem, my car still would not start. Not knowing the problem, my car was towed to the mechanic. The mechanic claimed that my fuel filter had went bad, that the car was not able to receive any gas. First of all, I had never heard of a fuel filter going bad especially with the mileage on y car. Honda service states to replace the filter around 75,000. Since I was no where near 75k what is the problem. Anyway, I had the fuel filter replaced at my own expense. At this point the engine light was on showing there was still a problem. The mechanic then stated that my O2 sensor went bad. So, I replaced the O2 sensor. The engine light remained. My car is too young for this many issues. My car had a little over 60k but I have replaced the battery 3 times, replaced the ball bearings, O2 sensor and gas filter. I find out today the brand new tires I purchased from Honda are not any good and the belt inside the tires are almost broken in two. Thanks Honda, I use to love you.

I have 2009 Honda Accord I purchased from bayridge Honda 23089 miles at 2011. Today 36700 miles. When I was driving brooklyn queens expressway two weeks ago vsa and engine light is on. And feeling engine is vibrating& uncontrolled brake distance, two weeks ago I visit my car dealer; there is vsa & engine light on when my car 36500 miles. Bayridge Honda service checked there is no mistake in the car. When I back my car engine light is off everything looking smooth. (charged 105. 00$)following weekend short trip connecticut- new haven (180 miles) and I returned as some problem engine is irregular working or stalling when is working. I called american Honda before serviced my car. Just suggest serviced your car. First vsa following engines light and uncontrolled loose brake condition is came when engine not take gas irregular. Engine vibration and shut off engine . My personal auto technician test driven car with me , he diagnosed some problem. Something is running wrongly . Please be advice this unsafely condition where complaint this situations . I will be International trip September 20 to October 1 out of USA ,car is parking not driving for unsafely condition. I went to independence Honda and asked as to why between maitainence, I was having to add oil. I was told to bring it back when it was needed, and he would document it. Come to find out, they were doing an oil consumption test. Independence Honda closed and is now legends Honda. He told me to bring it in and they would fix it. Gave me a loaner car. Called me back and said they would have to do a oil consumption test. They claim they only put in about about a quart per 1000 miles. Regardless of what my dip stick shows. I will just need to watch my oil. I've had to have my spark plugs replaced twice in the year. Honda continues to actively conceal the defect from consumers and deny there's a known problem.

The check engine light came on as a result of a spider web build up in the evap fuel vent box and a spring was installed to prevent this from happening again.
