My wife thought she locked her keys in the car and I got a hanger to try and get in by putting hanger in window and pulling the latch for trunk and then pull the lever to fold down the back seat and then I crawled in from trunk and when I lifted the back seat to look on seat it latched and I was locked in car! I could not open any doors or windows and it was very hot that day and it was even hotter inside the car. I thought I was gonna die! I was trying to yell but nobody was around and my son in law just happen to pull up and I was screaming beating on the window and he heard me and saw me and rushed over and I told him to pull the latch in trunk to open back seat and he found the latch and I was able to crawl out. I thought I was gonna die!! you cannot get out of that car if you are inside and the locks are locked. There was a time not long before that my wife and I went to store and she went in and I was gonna come in after I got done with my phone call I was on and when I tried to open the door it would not open and I had to wait for her to come out of store to unlock the car so I could get out. After this last incident I was so shaken up I didn't know what to do until my brother in law told me to file a complaint before it happens to someone else that might not get lucky like I did and to call an attorney which is what I'm gonna do regardless of what they do about it. I'm a grown adult and could not get out of that car and if that were to happen to a child I don't wanna even think about what would happen and that is why I'm making this complaint so it can be fixed before it happens again if it already hasn't.
I bought my car in March of 2023 3 months later my ball joint broke & knocked out my axle which caused damage to my car my warranties didn’t cover the damage to my car nor the axle or ball I had to pay out of pocket for a tow truck not only that I had to pay to get it fixed. I’m still having trouble with my car & the dealer hasn’t did anything to fix my problem.
I own a 2010 Honda Accord. I was driving on the highway while driving at approximately 60 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated and the vehicle started to shake and failed to operate as needed. I was able to navigate the vehicle off the roadway. The vehicle was towed to a dealership where the vehicle was diagnosed that the piston rings needed to be replaced. I have 59,000 original miles on it! I was told by the service advisor that it was common in Hondas with v6 due to the ecco or vcm. I found out extended warranty was given to owners, I didn't. I want to know why I didn't and why I never received a recall? I'm not spending $6000 for something that was a terrible design. Please call helen crowe or david bryant 317-701-7600 or email dobryant66@gmail. Com.
The two catelletic converters are broken at the same time? the part guy said 1 is broken and the other just isn’t working. How can this be on a car that has less than 125,000 miles?.
I traded this vehicle in to autonation Acura south bay in torrance CA on 1/2/23 and purchased one of theirs. My 2010 Honda trade had 233,566 miles. They failed to forward my vehicle release to dmv and I began receiving parking tkts. I contacted the dealer. They said it was taken care of. I kept getting toll evasions. I contact the dealer again and requested they send me a copy of what they said was sent to dmv. When I reviewed the dmv registration report, I saw the odometer had been rolled back to read 105,266 . That is a difference of 128,300 miles. That is fraud and a extreme safety hazard to that buyer and other drivers.
Abs modular malfunctioning and messing up brakes so lights stay on.
Can you remove the nose mask recall from this vehicles? I don't have a nose mask. I am trying to rent it and they will not let me list it. Thank you.
08-2010 Accord nose mask safety recall that is not being honored.
Passenger air bag keeps going on and off . There is a electrical problem with the front and back locks . The vct actuator has gone bad on the car which cause it to make a loud rattle noise . There is also something under the car that's loosen underneath the car when you make a turn you hear a knocking noise .
When alarm goes off it locks my doors and windows and I can't get out until it stops I was trapped inside car in summer like 101 outside book said roll window down and open the door from the outside handle the window well won't open and I can't open my door and I'm locked in there with no air in the dead of the summer this is a real problem. One time I tried to get out and the alarm went back on again and I was locked in there another five or 10 minutes even my neighbor came out and tried to help me.
The same issue that you have a recall out for 2010 Honda Accord with different vinz is the bearing in the transmission.
While driving my 2010 Honda Accord crosstour on the freeway the engine light started flashing, I immediately took my car to Honda of stockton. They notified me that my car is burning oil excessively. Bank 1 pressure switch /bank 2 pressure code p3400 /p3497 vps stuck off both banks. Check engine come on and eco will not work they charged me $150. 00. Honda tested the vehicle and has evidence of the excessive oil consumption. I researched this due to them saying to fix this issue it would cost me $8000 and found there is an extended warranty add for this problem but the dealership says my car does not qualify. The extended warranty recall states that 2010 Honda Accord's qualify, but they will not make repairs for excessive oil consumption which has caused my catalytic converters to fail as well as my spark plugs and piston rings. I have researched and advised the mechanic this is called the vtc acuator and seems to be common in 2008 to 2011 Honda Accord's. The dealer instructed me not to drive my car it could catch fire and blow up and to contact corporate which is my next step.
Srs light comes on and off took my car to Honda and was told not to worry about it. I had air bags replaced last year. I hope nothing hazard happens to me or others while driving this vehicle.
Driving down the highway at 65 mph when the sunroof shattered. There were no cars in front of me and I was not crossing under any bridges.
Car is burning through oil much faster than normal. Honda agreed that this is a known problem, but since it is not an official "recall" they did not inform customers. They refuse to cover the known problem since the 2010 Accord was built in 2008, and the warranty covers 8 years.
The sunroof exploded while driving on the freeway with no cars in front of me.
Takata recall. . .
Sunroof exploded while driving on interstate abourt 70 miles an hour.
While driving the odometer shows a warning that the fuel cap is not sealed I can clear the warning by changing the odometer setting but it reappears shortly thereafter. This is sometimes accompanied by a check engine light. Took car to Honda dealer who reported that the check engine light was from the fuel cap warning. They replaced the fuel cap but less than a day later(approx. 50 mi. ) the warning has reappeared.
While driving on the interstate I heard a loud "pop", it sounded like gunfire so I looked around to see if there were any other vehicles near me and non were close. I looked at all my windows and they were in tack but I heard this loud gushing of wind coming from overhead. When I stopped, I realized it was my sunroof. It had a hole in the middle of it and it look as though it had come from the inside as the remaining glass was protruding upward. I contacted the dealer who sold me the car and they stated it was impossible. I google to see how much it would cost to repair it as the dealer stated they would not, that is when I found out that this is a common problem, so I am reporting my issues in hopes that the car manufacturers will take this serious before someone is killed.
Excessive oil consumption. The car began grinding and had no oil registered on the dipstick after 1000 miles following an oil change. This happened multiple times despite using high mileage oil and getting oil changes more frequently than recommended,.
Car acts like it doesn't want to take off, then stalling while driving, it sometimes starts to jerking. When pressing the accelerator it doesn't want to accelerate. I sometimes pull over to turn the car off to see if it would do better if I restart it, but then it starts acting like it doesn't want to crank back up.
The interio passenger side air bag area is leaking when it rains. The vehicle has never been in a wreck. I've looked on the exterior area and unable to visibly see any defects that would allow rain/water into the interior area that is leaking. My concern is the water/rain will cause the side air bag to not function properly during a time of need.
Burning oil excessively since I have had the car. I never got a recall notice. Having to add a qt or better a week. June 12 it stalled out all the way home from work. That was a Sunday. Just checked the oil on Thursday. Oil was okay in Thursday. On Sunday no oil to show on dipstick. Burnt at least 3 qts in less than 200 miles! drained what little oil was left. Changed filter and put new oil in. Still would not run. Changed spark plugs and it ran better but still has a slight mis. Dtc p0303. The dealership deleted the code and said it wasn't a code in there. Will not do anything. I had it read before I took it there and have a picture of it. The paint has been chipping off for over a year, not where rocks hit. Places that are curved or rounded. Edges of the roof or fender. It's only 6 years old. Honda doesn't stand by either of these issues. Never again will I own a Honda. The car is not leaking oil and it is not smoking. The oil is going some place. And that is causing serious damage to my car. Not to mention the damage that's already been caused. A software update doesn't fix the damage that's been caused already.
Two weeks ago, I was driving at approximately 55 mph, the car felt as if it were switching gears sluggishly. Then I noticed the engine light had come on. I took the vehicle to o'reilly's to investigate the engine light which was caused by a p3400 code/bank 1. I researched the code and purchased 2 quarts of the 0w20 synthetic oil. The light went out after driving approximately 10 miles. I then made an appointment for an oil change, however the dealership was closed for the memorial day holiday and rescheduled for tomorrow (3 days later). The light has since come back on; I again checked the oil and had to add 2 quarts of 0w20 synthetic oil. Once again, the car is sluggish and has a new symptom of knocking when accelerating. I will have it towed in the morning for the scheduled oil change to ensure nothing is damaged. I have done additional research and found that I had received notification from Honda last year in reference to a class action settlement for service bulletin (#11-033) that addressed excessive oil consumption from a "systematic design defect that enables oil to enter into the engine's combustion chamber. This leads to premature spark plug degradation and engine malfunction. " hopefully, the dealership will repair the defect once and for all.
Seat belt warning light came on. I took the car to herb chambers, seekonk, MA, and they said it was the safety harness that needed replacement. They said that they would have to order the part as there was a shortage of these parts available. It would take a couple of weeks to get the part. It has been approximately three months and I still have not heard from them.
Took my 2010 Honda Accord to repair a atc actuator. I am told the part has not been improved and everyone who had this repaired is returning within 6 months . There are alot of complaints . When is Honda going to recall and fix this faulty part . The car starts so loud !!!!.
Sudden accident n death involved on site no other vehicle involved.
Complaintant was driving a 2010 Honda Accord on interstate highway, traveling at approximately 65 to 70 mph when original equipment sun roof shattered with a very loud burst. Complaintant did not witness any object hitting sun roof, nor did sun roof have prior damage at the time of the incident. The shattered glass from sun roof began to enter the passanger compartment, landing on driver and occupant in front passanger seat.
On my 2010 Honda Accord, occuring on all four doors, the window sweeps are melting. These are the strips that keep water from running down, into the door wells from the closed windows. The rubber strips were replaced a few years ago under warranty for this problem. Last fall, the new sweeps started to also melt down to a rubbery tar-like consistency. I complained to Honda about this defect to no avail. I was told that I would have to pay for new sweeps and for them to be installed. The impression that I received from the service person was that in warmer climate areas this is a problem. It appears that the newer Honda vehicles are not suitable for extreme weather conditions and Honda is not concerned with the situation. I have had two other older Honda vehicles in the past in the same location. Never had this happen.
Excessive oil consumption. I am putting 1-2 quarts oil every 3000 miles, even though the oil life indicates 80% or better. I bought this car new and just noticed this about 9 months ago. The oil is not leaking, it is just gone. Also when I start the car first thing in the morning or when is is cold, the top of the engine makes a rattling noise. There is also a loud pronounced noise that sounds like it is either the engine or the transmission, something doesn’t sound right. I am taking it to the dealer to have it checked out.
Engine light came on; car chugged; called aaa and had it towed for the third time to Honda . A switch, oil pressure rocker arm pressure switch (rear) was replaced. This is the third time that a part failure has caused oil pressure/engine problems and left me stranded out of town.
I purchased this car new in may 2011. Within almost two years I had to replace the original brake pads and rotors I was told by my local dealer that this is normal. I have never had to replace brakes with such low mileage. Now as of today, 06/18/2014 my car has been back in the shop twice with in the last two months for more brake problems. I replaced the right rear caliper in 4/2014 with about 720000 miles and now today I am replacing the left rear caliper. I have had a Honda Accord coupe that I have put well over 100000 miles on and have never had to replace calipers. I am very unhappy and I think an investigation should be put on this car year of 2010 brake system as there are several complaints on the net regarding this. I have spent almost $2000 on brakes this is ridiculous with having a such a "new" car also had a problem w tires had to replace at 48000 also stock michelin tires. Unheard of Honda needs to do better with their stock parts!.
Engine light came on while driving on the interstate. Car chugged and threatened to cut off. I miraculously got it into the Honda dealership in orlando. Had to leave it,get rental to get home and go back for it 4 days later. Defective front spool valve assembly was found to be binding/sticking causing engine to misfire.
August 01, 2011. Whirling sound coming from right front of car. Increased sound with speed increase. Honda dealer replaced right front wheel bearing in warranty. 2010 Honda Accord 10,013 miles. October 20 2014 left front wheel bearing reported bad by Honda. No warranty 29,000 miles. Same car what a joke.
