1 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/09/2024

I bought my car in March of 2023 3 months later my ball joint broke & knocked out my axle which caused damage to my car my warranties didn’t cover the damage to my car nor the axle or ball I had to pay out of pocket for a tow truck not only that I had to pay to get it fixed. I’m still having trouble with my car & the dealer hasn’t did anything to fix my problem.

2 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/09/2021

Burning oil have to keep adding oil oil rings are no good.

3 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/11/2017

My vehicle engine rpm's raises as much as 500 to 700 more than idle, when moving at slow speeds of 10 mph or stopped. Had it checked by sunny king Honda in oxford alabama, they said it could be the pcm which is under recall for this type of vehicle for ones made prior to sept 2010. My vehicle was made in December 2010. This happens all the time and cause the vehicle to speed up when moving at slow or stopped speed. Just wondering if this had been reported by anyone else. Also vehicle makes a loud noise when you crank it up. It has done this since I got the car back in August 2017.

4 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/21/2017

While driving vehicle, the engine caught on fire and the engine compartment burned up. The fire department had to put out the fire. . . On a city street.

5 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/24/2017

Oil consumption is more than it should be. I have to add oil between changes and I always get a misfire because my engine is trash.

6 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/22/2016

I bought a Honda on quite a few referrals because they were supposed to be solid cars that last. I had actually been having issues with the engine, in one form or another, a couple years after I bought it. I would take it in and it would be fixed (?). Until a few months ago when the engine and traction lights would go on for a few days then off, then back on, then of again. The final time they went on they were blinking and my car was acting very sluggish, it was not getting a lot of power so I took it in to a Honda dealer for a diagnostic. After picking my self up off of the floor from the estimate that they gave me, I took their print out to another repair center, that rhymes with, hirestone, because they had taken care of a few things in the past and had great customer service and comparable pricing. One week later, my engine and traction light came back on and I flipped out! I took it back to 'hirestone" and they took it in and a few hours later, here I am reading about the lawsuit with Honda over the excessive oil usage deal. Now I will be super inconvenienced to find a way to take my car in to a dealer for a couple hours for my 3rd oil change in about 3-4 weeks so they can monitor the usage and determine if I qualify to have the piston rings replaced, a 1-2 day job. Also come to find out that if it is the lawsuit issue, american Honda does not offer a rental car for me while they are fixing "their" faulty issue. I didn't ask for this headache, they knew about it a few years ago. They should pay for everything!! urggggggg!!!!.

7 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/16/2016

My car was on recall for the oil consumption and the air bags are on call. And I also have a noise mask issue and transmission .

8 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/08/2016

My car burns too much oil between oil changes. I have contacted Honda and vehicle checked out 5 times now for the problem, the dealership told me that for my vehicle to get fixed in the oil consumption class action suit it had to have the check engine light come on twice, etc. I have a problem with this the 1st time the light came on I lost about 50% of the power of the vehicle when I was travelling on a very busy highway, I had to change lanes and slow down because I couldn't keep up and my vehicle was shaking so badly. It turns out that my oil consumption problem had fouled the spark plugs and caused them to stop firing which means I lost the power of the cylinders that had the fouled spark plugs. Now they want me to wait till it happens again before they will repair the engine and follow the class action that they agreed to follow. What would happen if I was pulling into traffic and lost 50% of my power or am merging onto an interstate. This is a dangerous situation and they know the problem exist, but won't fix it in a timely manner. I am concerned about driving the vehicle.

9 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/14/2015

Excess oil consumption. First made aware by oil service technician when the car was just under 5 years old. Technician said they notice excess consumption at the previous change, but thought it was a fluke. Since then, Honda has had me recording mileage and oil levels. After nearly 8,000 miles I had enough evidence for them to do a software update. . . . Which did not fix the problem. One thousand miles after the most recent oil change, I had to add 1/2 quart. Now the local Honda repair shop says they are trying to convince Honda to do a good-will fix. Really? how is this good will when this is a known engineering design issue?.

10 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/07/2015

I bought my car new in 2010 Honda Accord 4 cylinder. I had been taking my car to get the oil changed on a regular basis to the Honda dealership. Since beginning of this year, my car started making noise so it took it to dealer to check the reason. He told that me that my car is out of oil even though indicator say oil level is 70% and that is the reason for it's making sound. He told me that he could not detect the issue and bring it one more time. He temporarily fixed the issue by filling the oil. It again happened after a month and he again filled in oil but he charged me this time for filling the oil. He said that we will need to do "oil consumption" test as he doesn't see any leakage either. This is really scary to me when I see that there is already class suit against Honda for the same reason but that's applicable for 6 cylinders engine and not for 4 cylinders. When I asked the dealer about it, he simply denied any lawsuit or class action or recall for Accord 2010. It's defect in a car but neither Honda accept it or dealer agrees to it. However, I'm spending my money and time to fill in the oil every month after only 1000 miles. It's ridiculous and frustrating as well.

11 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/29/2014

Accelerating from a stop sign and check engine light came on, vehicle began to idle rough and shudder. Limped to a auto parts store and diagnosis was cylinder #2 misfire. I was returning home from vacation and contacted dealership service dept where car was purchased from. Was informed that Honda issued a TSB for fouled plugs. Drove 290 miles home as all dealerships were closed.

12 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/13/2014

While attempting to pass a semi-truck on a two lane highway, my 2010 Honda Accord v6 lost power a few minutes after acceleration. The truck driver probably felt that I was being rude and slamming on my breaks, but I was trying to move to the shoulder of the road because my car was losing power. The car was towed to an independent shop that specializes in Honda makes/models. Upon review of the vehicle, the shop found oil in all three catalytic convertors. My 2010 Honda Accord is part of the class action lawsuit for misfire and oil consumption (leakage). I called Honda America and notified the company about the issue while attempting to pass. I have been told by the dealer's service department and the independent shop that they have never seen this type of issue. I asked if it was related to the issues identified in the class action lawsuit, both stated they couldn't understand "why oil would be in the convertors". I have used the dealership's service department for all work minus the alternator (2 weeks ago). A new shortblock was installed 20k miles ago (part of the misfire/oil issue). My main concern is the situation of losing power in the middle of acceleration. I was extremely lucky today (and I did not have a solid yellow line when I was passing - pretty much a straight away). I told Honda America they needed to look into the possibility that the issues with the 2010 Honda Accord v6 goes beyond misfire and oil consumption. I attempted to google accidents and issues with 2010 Honda Accords. This is a major safety concern and NHTSA should look into this issue (potential causes for accidents involving 2010 Honda Accord v6 models).

13 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/20/2014

Purchased vehicle 5/8/2014. Driving home and I called my husband and stated that the car sounded like crap--wasnt shifting correctly and just had a horrible sound coming from engine. He stated we will check oil and transmission fluid when you get home. To find no oil or transmission on either. We immediately contacted dealer we purchased from and we had it towed there for attention. Car dealer changed oil(which wasn't much) and transmission fluid were "fine". Passing the buck! we continued to keep an eye on it to find we are putting quarts of oil in it. It has had 3 oil changes in less than 6 months and not due to mileage---due to each place we took it to-dealer-changed oil, jiffy lube-changed oil-Honda-changed oil and started "oil consumption" test. I have checked oil in my cars, since I was 16 years old. Honda stating "it's normal"--it's not normal to have to keep adding oil to your car between one oil change to another, due to mileage only. You can visually see oil everywhere on the engine block and laying on other components of the engine. Fix the car!!!!!!.

14 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/13/2012

I was involved in a three vehicle collision. I was rear ended by the 4th vehicle which started a chain reaction and my vehicle was hit in the rear and the front and the air bag did not deploy. My vehicle was a total loss.
