Failure Date: 02/01/2017

I called Honda customer to report a problem due to constant check engine lights and to get my car checked with a recall notice . They told me I will charged to see whether my is eligible for the recall notice and told my check engine problem cannot be checked out since my mfg warranty expired since it is only good for 6 yrs from the year of manufactured date and not the sold date . I bought my car 2011 so my warranty is still valid , but for whatever reason they are going by mfg date and sold date.

The vehicle seat offer no comfort or support, but actually inflict severe and immediate back and hip pain. After driving the car only 15 miles in the interstate, I had back pain for 2 days. I don't want to get in my own car I just purchased. I want to take it back. Why is this allowed? how car a vehicle that causes injury continue to be sold. There should be a recall. There should be a fix. There should be a repair. I want my money and my health back!.

Incredible uncomfortable driver and passenger seat. With in 30 min of driving, my lower back, bottom, neck, thighs and toes, get so sore, I have to stop, walk and stretch for 20 minutes before I can continue. I have been avoiding drives longer than 30 min, but sometimes traffic exists and it is not easy to accomplish. I have reach the point of no return. It is a shame as I love everything else about it. . .

8 Seats problem

Failure Date: 05/22/2013

While beginning to accelerate from a parking spot , going somewhere between one to five miles per hour all passenger side air bags deployed . I thought for sure Honda would be willing to correct this major safety issue but much to my surprise, they were very rude and refused to pickup any costs I incurred from this incident ( a little over $10000. 00 ).

9 Seats problem

Failure Date: 05/04/2013

Front passenger airbags deployed without impact on my 2010 Honda Accord causing passenger injury. Honda verbally agreed to cover all costs then broke the verbal contract which has left me in a financial disaster as I am now having to pay for my monthly car payment as well as payments towards a loan of $14,000. 00 to cover all costs of the airbag incident. . . . . . . . September 2014 I was involved in a automobile accident in which the air bags should have deployed but instead failed.

10 Seats problem

Failure Date: 04/23/2013

The front seats in this vehicle are extremely uncomfortable and cause back pain.

11 Seats problem

Failure Date: 03/08/2013

I started noticing right leg pain/numbness while driving my ,new to me, 2010 Honda Accord ex home from the dealership. I thought I just didn't have my seat adjusted properly. The pain became much worse over the next few weeks, affecting both legs and left hip, but I thought it was still just me until I researched it. The real pain began after a 3 hour trip. The pain was so severe the next morning that I could barely walk and couldn't get out of pain. My doctor ordered an x-ray and then a bone scan to see if there was a fracture. The tests showed a condition called spondylolisthesis where the l4 vertebra was pushed forward on the l5 vertebra causing an impingement of the nerves that supply the legs. I contacted the dealership and they told me that my only recourse was to trade the car in on another vehicle(at a great loss to me). I haven't driven the car since. I've been to a doctor, a spinal specialist and am still getting physical therapy to address the pain and haven't driven the car in 2 months. I know the seat can be taken apart and plates removed to make it possible for me to drive it but that disables the safety features of the car. These seats would cause permanent damage to me if I continued to drive the car, if they haven't already, I have never had any issues with a car seat before. These seats are not just uncomfortable they are dangerous and need to be recalled. I have been a loyal Honda customer and would only consider buying a Honda. The seats in my other Hondas were wonderful. I'm so disappointed that Honda won't fix this issue.

12 Seats problem

Failure Date: 01/25/2013

Seats are not comfortabel.

13 Seats problem

Failure Date: 02/18/2012

I had a 2008 Accord, which seating was very comfortable. I trade for a 2010 with all the same equipment and leather seats (same as 2008), but have major issues with the lack of comfort, lack of adjustable to support the back and legs. I, like others I've read, have backaches, neck pain and leg problems when I drive this car. It's ridiculous. Who changed the design of comfortable seats to this junk?? why would the design change at all?? sometimes improvements aren't really improvements, and this is a prime example. Shamed on Honda. I've owned four Hondas. I sure won't buy another one with uncomfortable seating.

14 Seats problem

Failure Date: 11/20/2011

2010 Honda Accord ex has very very bad seat design. Because of which I have been having to go to doctor almost every week. My back has become all weak and I have developed slight wing scapula because of this . I request Honda to take responsibility and address this issue.

15 Seats problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2011

Driver’s seat lumbar design causing driving safety issues note: it seems that this problem is more prominent for male drivers versus female drivers. This problem has become so bad that I refuse to drive it past 1 hour on the road; it just doesn't happen. Why is this so? because the driver's lumbar is improperly designed. . . . My statement comes from experience of personally having several vehicles over the past 30 years in addition to driving rental vehicles on a very frequent basis (I typically place more miles on rental vehicles than my personal vehicles) – and I really do enjoy driving vehicles on long trips when driving the vehicle I literally get a “pain in the back. I have made multiple seat adjustments with no success. The lumbar area becomes very painful where it forces me to get off the road to rest the back. If I do not do this I become irritable (doesn’t go over well with my spouse or the family) and starts impacting my driving ability. I have taken measures to wear a flexible back brace that provide additional comfort, but that only lasted another hour prior to the “pain in the back returning. This is unacceptable (& I have never done this with any other vehicle I have owned or rented) I have communicated to my wife (it is her vehicle) that I will no longer drive the Accord ex-l except on short trips (less than 60 minutes). The physical pain (legs, back, hip, etc. ) the seat causes is unacceptable and needs resolved prior to my giving it another chance. I have done significant research since the purchase looking for fixes, etc. Including inquiring with dealership and speaking with Honda customer service with no assistance. The last result from the dealership was that the engineer did also experience the problem, but could not proceed further as Honda did not have a “tech note on the problem. I spoke with Honda customer service (the 800 #) again on Friday about this with little success. Any help would be appreciated as this is unacceptable.

16 Seats problem

Failure Date: 01/14/2011

First time I took my Honda Accord on a trip was January 2010, fromm idaho to l. A. And back. By the time I got home, I had such a problem with my right leg that I had to have surgery to repair a knot behind my knee. This car has the worst front seat of any car I have ever owned. I too cannot believe that Honda, a company I have always trusted, would not fix this obvious flaw in design. I cannot take this car on another trip.

19 Seats problem

Failure Date: 10/21/2010

Driver's seat on 2010 Honda Accord causes severe back and neck pain after 15 minutes in the seat.

20 Seats problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2010

The front seats are the most uncomfortable seats I've ever experienced. The front of the seat doesn't adjust downward enough and hits the wrong pressure points under the thigh, thus cutting off circulation in the leg. The seat is also too long and hits at the back of the knee right where your leg bends. The seat belt buckle hits and presses against the leg right where the leg/hip bends. This too cuts off circulation to the leg and makes it very difficult to walk when you get out of the car. I've been experiencing both leg, hip and back pain shortly after getting my new car. This is a major problem since I'm in the car for a very long time period on a daily basis.

She took the vehicle to the dealer for an inspection, and the dealer stated brakes were considered wear and tear. It was never mentioned to the consumer, that there was a recall on the brakes. 23 Seats problem

Failure Date: 09/28/2010

After 9 years of perfect satisfaction with a 2001 Honda Accord,I purchased a new 2010honda Accord on 08/2010. Loud whining noise started after approx. 1000 miles of driving. Heard whine, loud and consistant on startup and the whine intensifies as the engine warms with driving. Dealer replaced power steering pump on my third trip to Honda service. Noise continues even louder with new pump. A return trip to Honda dealer I was told it is a noise charteristic of this model. The nerve racking whine is deadened only with the radio vol. Turned up. Two other problems create very stressful driving conditions. The head rest extend too much forward creating severe neck strain and the stiff feel in the seats require constant shifting of position. I will never purchase nor recommend a Honda to anyone. My main concern now: is this whine an indicater for an unsafe situation or for a more serious mechanical problem?.

24 Seats problem

Failure Date: 09/08/2010

I have a 2010 Honda Accord exl. The driver seat is very uncomfortable and could possibly cause accidents by making the driver squirm around in the seat on long drives. Honda does not have a inflatable lumbar support, but a cheap piece of plastic that digs into the drivers back. This causes the driver to have to constantly squirm around on long drives to try and get comfortable enough to get there. The lumbar support feels like a brick in the drivers back making it hard to focus on driving. I've heard of owners removing from the driver seat, the back of the seat and then removing the cheap piece of lumbar support plastic to get the brick feeling out of there back. I do not suggest this but want to make the NHTSA aware this is happening. Beside the seat problem the Accord is a good car, but I'd like to see a NHTSA investigator rent a 2010 Honda Accord exl and drive it for a few days, then take it on a long trip. See how your back feels then.

The seats on the 2010 Honda Accord ex 4cyl which I just purchased new are so constructed that after driving it I have had to consult my doctor and receive extensive treatment from a physical therapist! I have a 2001 Honda and just sold my 1988 Honda and they did not have this seat defect. This is a serious matter: I can't drive or ride in the car. A search online discloses that many people have suffered from these badly designed seats.
