general problems of the 2011 Honda Accord

Sub frame corrosion rust out / crack(s). Control arm (s) corrosion. All verified by independent repair facility, a & b collision staten island NY. This has been an issue with previous years as per driveaccord. Net.

I have a 2011 Honda Accord v6 coupe. At approximately 11:39 hours on 8/15/2023 my car lost all steering and brakes and spun violently multiple times across the highway. Thankfully the car did not impact another vehicle and ended up on the side of the road in soft sand. A scan tool revealed a trouble code for a failing or fault within the vsa modulator. This module controls both the brake system and stability control in one unit. At the time of the above aforementioned incident 2 warning lights were on the dash for the following: abs and stability control. The arizona department of public safety responded to the incident. I file this complaint because the safety of other drivers and myself were placed in serious jeopardy.

I was driving and I was at a stop light then went sounded like my car was in neutral but it wasn't. . Sounds like a bad transmission, I'm not 100% sure. Started a clanking sound. Went to park and turned off the vehicle then started it up didn't make a sound until I put it in reverse then it wouldn't reverse.

Was driving and took a left hand turn and transaxle broke in half. Could not move after that. Was no warning and it looks like that transaxle was rusting and broke.

When I start my car, I hear a rattle sound for 1-2 seconds. It only happens when the car has been off for about 3 hours. It used to happen once in awhile and now everyday. I searched online and a lot of people say it’s the “engine’s variable timing control actuator” or vtc.

The tpms light stays on, even after tires are filled with the correct amount of air and then tires replaced . Also on the driver side door panel the leather is blistering , car is garage kept . I am not sure the exact date I noticed this , im giving an estimation.

Vehicle constantly has the calibers seize , causing the brakes to lock on and warping the rotors. It has already happened four times and every Honda dealer stated there’s nothing they can do because there isn’t a recall.

The car accelerates on its own, when you put it on p it stays fully accelerated. When the vehicle is stationary. In motion is doing the same thing.

My car started having problem when I purchased it in 2011. The car would run sluggish. I took it in for schedule maintenance and complained about the problem. I was given the run around for the last 7 years. I complained it was a defect from the beginning. Finally the car started to make rattling sounds. I took it in and was told I had an oil leak. I was furious and told them that it is that same damn problem I had for 7 years. My car has 80000 miles. The dealer than told me I needed to change trans oil. I been bringing in my car for maintenance for the last 7 years and never did anyone tell me about oil leaks and trans oil issues. I complained about the sluggish performance and they completely ignored this issue. They kept the car and finally found out the problem my car had for 7 years. It had a bad timing belt. I told them it was a defect from the factory and it should be covered through my warranty. The car was sold to me defected! the dealer told it will not cover the cost to fix it. I paid for it and now the car runs perfect. I am writing to you because I should not have paid to fix the problem because the car had a defect from the beginning. I hope you can help me with this issue. Again I complained about the problem and the dealer did nothing to help me. I am going to write to Honda and complain also to them. Water leak in the interior of the car. Anytime it rains, water leaks through the top section of the driver's side curtain airbag and starts dripping.

I have took my car to the shop because it keeps speeding up and down and they said they didn't couldn't find anything wrong with the transmission and it's still doing it and I had the transmission fluid change hoping it would help it but it didn't . . They changed the fluid but not the filter. . Now the transmission seal is leaking. . I have had this car to the shop several times. . The car speeds up going up or down hills or driving straight on flat roads.

I was driving on I-75 near ruskin florida when the driver's side window imploded for no known reason. Florida highway patrol responded and could not see any evidence of the vehicle being struck by any foreign object. Glass ended up in several places including behind me (the driver and sole occupant), under the driver's seat, the far rear right seat and floorboard. I have photos. This happened around 6:40 p. M. , July 11, 2016. I have contacted Honda and they refused to do anything about it. . I feel that this is a severe safety issue and should be investigated. I have additional photos.

The rear window of my 2011 Honda Accord just exploded for no apparent reason. After searching the internet, I found that this has happened to a number of people with different makes and models of automobiles and that the most likely cause is defective rear window defroster wires. We were moving about 5 mph on a city street.

Sunroof exploded. Cost of repair to glass and repainting roof, deck lid,antenna, spoiler, and right quarter panel was over $2,400. Car had 61,000 miles on it. Driving with cruise set at 70 mph and outside temperature at 9:30 a. M. Was 63 degrees.

I lost power and I notice battery light indicator came on after making a right turn while going 5 mph while raining in a puddle of water. Shortly after which, maybe 5 seconds, I regained power back. This has happened twice while turning during a rain, although it does not happen every time it rains.

My catyletic convertors have all gone out at 127,000 miles.

This is not a safety complaint but more of a defect. I have a 2011 Honda Accord and it had less than 50,000 miles when I noticed the issue. I have leather interior and the arm rest on the driver's door bubbles in extreme heat. Once it cools off, it lays back down some, but never flat as it should be. It is concerning that this is happening on a car that is not that old. Upon googling this issue, I see that there are many Honda owners who have complained of the same thing. I took it to the dealer and was told that it is not covered under the extended warranty and it is very concerning especially when the dealer (prioroity Honda in chesapeake, va) says that its the glue and it will be $150. 00 to repair. Really. . . . I would have been best off getting cloth interior. This is the 3rd Honda I have owned, but afraid it may be my last.

The driver side sun visor doesn't snap back into place after use. I use it to help protect my eyes from the sun while driving, or to hold up the sun screen when parked. Instead of snapping into place after use, it dangles down about 2" in front of my face. I'm over 6' tall and the dangling visor can block by view. Honda had a similar issue with the civic model a few years before and they obviously haven't fixed the poor design.

Hi, I purchased a Honda Accord (exl, v6) of 2011 model. I and other family members experience headache whenever we use the car, mainly for long drive (say, more than 2 hours). I think its due to its new electronic noise cancellation system (that Honda installed in its Accord models around 2010) and high internal cabin noise, particularly at higher speed. Honda reconfigured the noise cancellation system in its 2013 Accord models. I reported the issue to Honda technical service and two Honda dealers. None find/acknowledge any issue with the car or with its noise cancellation/sound system. I wanted to inform your organization with an aim to know if that can be considered as mechanical malfunction (for this particular vehicle) or manufacturing defect of that particular Honda model and if I am entitled for refund. The passenger and driver's seats are extremely uncomfortable. These seat are going to cause back problems. Honda should fix these immediately.

Faulty lumbar support in Honda Accord se 2011. The lumbar support in the above model is faulty and is resulting in serious back-ache to many drivers (online posts can be checked). Even with zero settings on lmbar support, it protudes outsides resulting in back pain to many including myself. This is also a safety issue as due to uncomfortable position and the resulting pain causes the drivers to move and alter positions of sitting, changing the seat settings while driving. The pain also results in taking mind off traffic and whats happening on the road. The issue is sometimes experienced by many on driving more than 30 miles on the first try. Please investigate.
