1 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/20/2025

The high pressure fuel pump is failing. Had a diagnostic ran with the help of autozone technicians. Advised to replace it. Looked up recalls for my vehicle and found the same issue. I was driving the vehicle home from work when the vehicle was struggling to move. It is available for inspection. No lights on prior to the fuel pump failure. These lights came on after the incident: check engine light, steering wheel with the exclamation mark, traction control, and the tire pressure light blinks then remains on.

2 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/15/2024

We were driving on the highway when the vehicle began stalling and failed to accelerate. We pulled onto the shoulder and all of the lights on the dash were on "check engine, electric power steering light, and low fuel light: the vehicle had half a tank of gas, so it was not a low fuel issue. After a few attempts the car finally started again and began to pick up power. My neighbor who is a certified Acura mechanic, used his diagnostic tool and the error code p0087 popped up indicating a drop in fuel rail/system pressure. This is the first time this has happened to this vehicle. We have serviced it regularly at our local Honda dealer since we purchased the vehicle. We see that there is an active recall for the exact issue we experienced NHTSA recall number:23v-858, however, our VIN number was not included in that for some reason. We feel strongly that the issue is indicative and matches that recall campaign and are requesting this recall be investigated and expanded.

3 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/10/2024

On December 10, 2024, while driving at approximately 45 mph on state street, my vehicle suddenly lost all power and stalled. The dashboard lights went out, and there were no prior warning indicators. Thankfully, I was able to coast safely off the road and restart the vehicle after it stalled. Before this incident, I had experienced multiple occasions when my car took unusually long to start. When pressing the gas pedal, the vehicle struggled to accelerate, feeling like it had no power. On December 26, 2024, I received an email stating that certain 2013–2023 Honda Accords might be subject to a recall due to a faulty fuel pump. However, after checking my specific VIN, I found no active recalls listed for my vehicle. Given the issues I have been experiencing over the past year—including stalling and power loss—I believe my vehicle may be affected by the same faulty fuel pump issue. I am filing this complaint to document that the identified fuel pump issue may affect more vehicles from these model years.

4 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/22/2024

The fuel pump on my 2013 Honda Accord went out. Ive taken the vehicle to the Honda dealer multiple times to get it diagnosed and they keep telling me its the high pressure fuel pump and once replaced my car will run smoothly. Not the case ive replaced it more than 6 times, my car still stalls and turns off at random so im unable to drive the vehicle. It starts and drives but you have to look at the rpms while driving, if I go over 2000 rpms itll stall. When the issue first started I was at a redlight when the vehicle stalled, thankfully no one was around me since it was late but had there been traffic my car would have been hit. I have 2 children and I cant and will not put them in that car knowing it has a problem no one is willing to take a deep dive into. Due to this issue multiple lights on the dash are on and wont go off until the problem is fixed.

5 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/13/2024

I was involved in a accident in which my car had stalled on me in the middle of a intersection and I was hit by on coming traffic and I also got hit by a truck on my left hand side which had been just repaired by someone who was certified and pay through insurance company when I got my vehicle back the ads light was on my dash as well I was hurt and the airbags split open my lips and my head.

6 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/18/2024

When overtaking a car on a one lane highway, the engine suddenly started to sputter and the steering felt unstable, and a few seconds later, four engine lights turned on (malfunction indicator lamp, vehicle stability assist system indicator, electric power steering system indicator, low tire pressure/tpms indicator). I was able to drive the car to an auto shop, where their mechanics did a diagnosis and found codes p0087, 83-11, 61-11, 85-01. While cycling through the codes all lights turned off, so they advised that I could continue to drive the car as is. A few weeks later, the same problem happened when I was driving on the highway. This time, I could not push the car past 2500 rpm, rendering the car unable to exceed 55mph on the highway. I was able to drive the car to a Honda dealership. They diagnosed p0087 and p0088 codes, and followed the TSB recommendation to replace the high pressure fuel pump. After paying the hefty replacement fee and getting the new part, the car works as expected. High pressure fuel pump failed, Honda dealership did repair so they would have the old part if not already disposed. In first instance, car became unstable at high speeds. In second instance, had to drive two hours back to dealership near me on a highway going 20mph under speed limit. Also had to pull over on a narrow shoulder. Technicians reproduced problem when holding vehicle at 3000rpm. Found code p0087 and s/b 14-039 for that code, which recommended replacing the high pressure fuel pump. Component inspected by Honda dealership. Specific warning lamps and codes listed above.

7 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2024

My car meets all the issues explained in recall from NHTSA 13v-297. The gas tank and the fuel service neck are not well connected and gas leaks out causing the engine light to stay on. The car meets production date, issue and the VIN is actually included in the range provided by Honda to nancy lewis. But somehow my VIN isnt recalled.

8 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2022

I’ve been to many auto shops including the Honda dealer and they all say my vehicle needs to have the fuel pump replaced. I’ve replaced it more than 5 times. My car stalls and will not accelerate the way it should and is a safety hazard. I am unable to drive the vehicle but it’s the only car I have. I’ve heard similar stories from family members that have the same vehicle. Fortunately they were able to purchase a newer vehicle. Not my case though. There were no warning lights prior to this. My car wouldn’t turn on one day so we changed the battery then it wouldn’t drive and then it started to stall and if driven it won’t accelerate the way it should. My car has been like this since 2022. I’ve called the dealership and they won’t look into it. There is an open recall for the coupe version of my car but they say my car isn’t on the list.

9 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/19/2021

My car is facing no starting issues several times a year even though I have done every single maintainance on time at the dealership. This time the dealer told me it is a bulletin 19-034 and need a software update. This could be very dangerous if it happened on the highway. Fortunately, it happened in a small park and I was driving very slow. There is always some starting issues of my Honda Accord since I bought it. I went to the dealership several times every year. Sometimes the dealer ask me to change battery and sometimes the dealer aksed me to change all kinds of fluids. I have changed every single fluids, pcv valve, brake pads and rollters in the car almost yearly and the no start issue is still happening. I feel it takes me too much time and cost me several thousand of dollars every year is too much. Also, if the turnoff happend on the highway it is very dangerous. I am hesitate to take my kids in the car since the problem. Very annoying. Also, the software problem should be solved by the manufacturer free but they are charging me every single time.

10 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/11/2020

When I start to take off the car stalls our on me for like 3 or 4 seconds, it has almost caused me to wreck a lot of times and my 2013 Honda pilot does the same thing.

11 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/05/2020

I purchased my 2013 Honda in 2019. Already it is showing that it has a fuel rail pressure sensor problem that could potentially cause a fire. While driving on the freeway the car lost acceleration. Now it can only be driven 40mph or less. I received a printout that determined this diagnosis and stated that there was a recall for this problem. I notified Honda and they said that there was no recall. Could you please help me to confirm the truth?.

12 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2019

Emissions light on. Smell gasoline always. Mechanic stated he needed to change the cylinder senson and put a new gas cap on. Once this was performed on the vehicle , two hours or less, emission light on and same issue presented itself. The vehicle was stationary when the inital problem occured with the emission and still occuring.

13 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/02/2019

Upon start up, all the lights on the dashboard lit up. Fcw failure noted on the digital display. Acceleration non existent in this state. Several restarts (34 was the max), no lights on the dash. Car ran fine. Dealer diagnosed it as a timing chain that had expanded. Seems to be fixed. (only been two days). I think it is a major safety issue because the lack of power could manifest itself at any time. Imagine getting on a highway with no power to accelerate.

14 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/26/2018

Two nights ago I was driving on I-75 back home from work , I was going speed limit 70-75 mph and the car suddenly started "bogging down", didn't want to go above 30 mph and a number of dash lights were service engine, power steering, tire pressure and maybe traction control. I turn off the car, turn it back on, and the lights still on. I drive short distance home at 25-30 mph. the following morning I looked at the car, didn't see anything wrong I felted very unsafe from car suddenly slow in the middle of hwy I-75 going from 70-75 mph to 25-30 mph, this happened with out any warning or enough time to pull over the shoulder, definitely a bad accident would happened here.

16 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/14/2018

Tl-the contact owns a 2013 Honda Accord. The contact stated that their spouse was driving at 40 mph and the power steering faild. The spouse had pull over and get on the shoulder. The power steering warning light did illuminate. The vehicle was not towed. The vehicle was taken to a near by location and parked. The dealer was not contacted the and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the issue. The failure mileage was 98,000. Jw.

17 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/03/2018

When I start my vehicle, the engine turns on, but only stays on for a second or two before loosing power. The battery seems to be working perfectly fine as the lights and indicators are properly lit. The starter also cranks properly. The engine however turns on but doesn't stay o. This has happened to me multiple times and I have changed my car battery 3 times now as the dealership isn't unable to identify what the issue is and my battery keeps getting drained. The car is particularly susceptible to this issue in the mornings in colder temperatures (50 degrees or so as I live in southern California) after not being used overnight.

18 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/25/2016

My 2013 is at 38,000 miles and I smell fuel when the vehicle is being started. I show a recall for this issue but when I enter my VIN# it says my vehicle isn't in the recall. Something is going on and I think it needs looked into. If this is the same issue that caused the recall for some models, it's odd that it's also happening to mine but my vehicle isn't in the recall.

19 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/18/2016

I had to tow my car home today. It wouldn't start. I have had trouble with it in the past weeks now but it would start eventually. But not this time. I might lose my job because of this car failure. Weither it was stationary yes but could of been blocking traffic.

20 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/02/2015

Started the engine and the message "check fuel cap" was displayed.

21 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/15/2014

Backed out of parking spot, upon shifting to drive, the rear view camera display was black except for two red lines. Drove about 60 feet then upon making a right turn I realized there was no throttle response. The engine continued to operate. Removed my foot from the throttle then reapplied my foot and the engine was then responsive to the throttle. The distance was approx. 20 feet and the time 10 seconds that the engine did not respond to the throttle. This car has many intermittent electrical problems, but this problem could be very serious in traffic.

22 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/08/2014

The contact owns a 2013 Honda Accord. While driving approximately 20 mph, there was a fuel odor inside the vehicle. The failure occurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 13v297000 (fuel system, gasoline). The approximate failure mileage was 8,500.

23 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/22/2014

The contact owns a 2013 Honda Accord. After the vehicle was parked, a fuel odor emitted in and around the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the technician stated that the vehicle was operating as designed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 13v297000 (fuel system, gasoline). The failure mileage was 10,000.

24 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/24/2014

Vehicle does not start easily. 3-5 ignition attempts are needed to start it every time. However, once it starts everything seems fine. The battery was checked by the dealer and found to be fine. The problem is not cold related as it occurs even at 40 f.

25 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/06/2013

Within 2 weeks of purchasing a new Honda I experienced a 2 to 3 second hesitation problem when trying to accelerate from low speeds. The first time it happened I was on a green light turning left, so I had to yield to oncoming traffic. I had slowed down to about 3 or 4 mph but tried to accelerate once the way was clear only to find that I had no power! I then pressed the accelerator all the way to the floor but nothing happened. It was almost as if the car had stalled. Just as I was about to try and restart the car it kicked in and I surged ahead just seconds before being hit head on. The same thing happened a few days later. This time the oncoming car had to go around me or we would have crashed. My car is now close to 7 months old and I'm still having the same problem even though I've taken it to 2 different Honda dealers and reported it to Honda of America. My case number is #12013-04-1600114. I have spoken with them many times. The problem is that it's an intermittent occurance and almost impossible to recreate while riding around with the service manager in the car. I have found many instances almost exactly like mine on the internet as well as finding a class action lawsuit which is pending in California, so I don't know why they must see it for themselves. They should be able to diagnose the problem from my description, especially since other drivers are relating the same symptoms. I've been without my car a total of 34 days while it sat in the shop of 2 diff. Dealerships waiting for them to do something to fix my problem. As far as I know they never did anything except test drive it and then say "problem not found". I find that very hard to believe because the problem presents itself to me about every 3rd time I drive it. I bought a Honda because safety is a huge concern for me, but this car is not safe! please help me!.

26 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/28/2012

Came to stop at stop sign. New Honda Accord 2013 4 door suddenly tried to accelerate. I pushed down as hard as I could on the brake to stop the motion forward. It only moved a foot or two and with my wife yelling I was able to get it into neutral. Scared the life out of us. I am 51 and a financial professional. My wife is 52 and a physician. This was completely real.

27 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/14/2012

2013 Honda Accord sedan, v6, touring model I stopped at the signal light at route 50 and chain bridge road; when the light changed I pressed the accelerator to leave, but nothing happened - the car was not moving or accelerating. Cars behind me honked and I pressed the accelerator more and then all of a sudden the vehicle's front tires spun a little and the car took off. This gave me a scare! this happened again 10-15 miles later as I was arriving near my home in alexandria, va. However, this issue is not causing the car to jerk, surge, or accelerate on its own; during this period of hesitation, when I need the car to accelerate, it appears to momentary die, stall, or run out of gas. I thought this was very odd, so I inspected the accelerator area, floor mats, etc. And everything appeared normal. This same incident happened on November 16, 2012, November 27, 2012, Dec 4, 2012 and Dec 11, 2012. I visited fairfax Honda service department hoping for a quick remedy. Unfortunately they were unable to duplicate the problem until the service manager and I drove the car together during my 11 Dec 2012 visit. The service manager told me this was characteristic of the 2012 Honda Accord sedan. He and I then drove a 2012 Honda Accord and I found this to be obvious when driving the 2012 Honda. I am very surprised this dangerous technical problem/issue has not been highlighted and remedied for the 2013 vehicle. I am very uncomfortable and concerned that due to the hesitation when attempting to accelerate I may be hit from the rear or hit by another vehicle due to this recurring malfunction. My wife feels this vehicle is dangerous and refuses to drive it. I have previously discussed this technical problem with Honda of America and they have opened a case file [xxx].
