I have been having problems with many dashboard lights coming on at once. I got it checked out and I got abs code 123 - 11 and code 81 - 20. This has been going on since the beginning of August 2025. This could lead to dangerous malfunctions, and is one of the most expensive things to repair. It is my understanding that many many vehicles between 2013 and 2017 in the Honda range I've been experiencing this to the point of where we need a recall.
Vsa/abs module has gone bad. Loss of emergency braking.
We were driving on the highway when the vehicle began stalling and failed to accelerate. We pulled onto the shoulder and all of the lights on the dash were on "check engine, electric power steering light, and low fuel light: the vehicle had half a tank of gas, so it was not a low fuel issue. After a few attempts the car finally started again and began to pick up power. My neighbor who is a certified Acura mechanic, used his diagnostic tool and the error code p0087 popped up indicating a drop in fuel rail/system pressure. This is the first time this has happened to this vehicle. We have serviced it regularly at our local Honda dealer since we purchased the vehicle. We see that there is an active recall for the exact issue we experienced NHTSA recall number:23v-858, however, our VIN number was not included in that for some reason. We feel strongly that the issue is indicative and matches that recall campaign and are requesting this recall be investigated and expanded.
When starting the engine and while driving at speeds of 60+mph, malfunction lamp, fcw, vsa, ldw, low tire pressure (tpms), econ mode, and eps warning lights come on and vehicles slows to 10 mph. Vehicle will remain in this condition until restarted which may or may not resolve the issue. Car will drive but not at speed desired and vehicles appears/sounds as if it is trying to change gears but cannot. The car continues to try to slow down to lower speeds.
2013 Honda Accord accelerated to a very high speed when driving from the church parking lot, braking did not stop it. Barely avoided hitting a car. On Sunday may 12, 2024 at around 13:45pm, as I was leaving the church parking lot, driving at around 5 miles an hour, the car suddenly accelerated to a very high speed, I tried braking but that did not stop it. The car entered and crossed the street, barely missed hitting a car, then entered the parking lot of a dollar store, finally stopping on the far side of the parking lot. No one was injured and no damage occurred. Tripple a was called immediately. Had car towed to dealership (neil huffman Honda, 1607 greentree boulevard, clarksville, indiana 47129. Car was at the dealership for two days, the car was driven, and an extensive examination was done, but they could not duplicate the concern and did not find any problems with the vehicle. When this episode occurred, there was no prior warning and the action of the vehicle was extremely fast. This was absolutely scary. Please let it be known to the Honda manufacturer that the car is defective, this defect needs to be fixed as soon as possible, before someone or multiple people are seriously injured or killed, or extensive property damage is done.
On 1/24/24, we were driving at about 65 mph. With no warning, fcw, ldw, abs, tire pressure and check engine lights as well as fcw system failure reported on dash. The car slowed to about 20-25mph and sounded rough. Cars behind were going with speed of traffic (about 65) and had to break behind us and were honking their horns at us despite emergency flashers on. We pulled over and turned off engine for a few minutes. We turn engine back on and warning lights were off and we could drive normally again. We thought it was a glitch. About three weeks later on 2/21/24, we were on a highway pass over mountain traveling about 65mph. The lights came on again and car slowed again to about 25mph. This was very dangerous on a pass with many cars accelerating around us on the uphill part of the pass. We had to pull over again. We turned engine back on but fcw and ldw lights remained on. We were able to drive normally again. When we got home, I took the car to a mechanic who did a diagnostic test and replaced the high pressure fuel pump. The fcw and ldw lights remained on as well as notification of fcw system failure. The mechanic said he did not have recalibration equipment and I would have to go to Honda dealer for recalibration. I have an appointment on 3/6/24 with Honda for recalibration. I have since gone online and see many Honda owners are having this occur with various fixes but the problem has recurred for many owners. This is very dangerous and needs to be addressed ASAP before a collision occurs and possible death of those involved as a result.
As I was driving I felt my steering wheel jerk violently to the right with no warning, as I continued to drive my steering wheel than jerked towards the right again on its own before locking up. I was not able to turn my wheel which was not only extremely dangerous but also very scary. I was luckily passing by a Honda dealership and they confirmed to me that my electric power steering was the reason behind the incident that occured. What is disturbing is that the day before I went to priority Honda in chesapeake virginia and they changed my oil and supposedly checked the fluids etc on my car. They provided me with a report that stated my brake fluid was good. The other Honda told me I had no brake fluid………. . They marked my power steering fluid as good… I have no power steering. I am considering my options right now and have not ruled out legal action. This was a very scary situation. The icing on top is the fact they spelled my name incorrectly as well as the wrong address….
My 2013 Honda Accord coupe has had severe steering problems for the past year, the steering does not want to respond where I cant even drive my car anymore.
Takata recall my complaint is about abs pump anti-lock brake part modulator assembly sedan cvt fits 13 Accord 503036 the lights are on in the dashboard and in the dealer told me to replace that part.
I was in a parking lot trying to park my car in a spot on the right side. As I pressed the accelerator at a normal pressure, the car just started accelerating and did not stop. I first slightly hit a car which had just pulled out of a parking spot. I tried to use the brakes multiple times and tried to shift gears to make anything happen which could help stop the car. It was out of control and in order to avoid a cliff, I veered to the right after passing about 30 parked cars and hit an embankment with a tree on it. My car crashed into a parked Lexus SUV which then was lifted and moved to the right and hit another parked car. The air bags came out and the car stopped. My wife and I and other people could have died if there were any pedestrians in the parking lot. We both have many life threatening injuries and cannot drive due to those for a long time. In addition we are now quite frightened. The car was completely out of control and I could not stop it.
I had pulled into a parking stop and stopped. I was about to reverse to park straight when my car shot forward. The brakes were not working and the car accelerated forward until it was stopped by a brick column. I was in a parking lot in front of a retail strip center.
Car in the morning hesitates just pulling out of its parking space. Put the car in reverse and it won't move. Put it in drive and same issue. It seems as if it's trying to warm up maybe? when it does start moving, it runs at 5-10 mph at 3k rpms. I let it roll slowly and after a few minutes it starts to drive normal. Going uphill, I experience a similar issue where the car is running at very high rpms at low speeds. I get the effect in eco and in s mode. It doesn't seem to matter. Car is a 2013 has about 42k miles and started to experience this issue about 4-5k miles ago. I just assumed it was because the car wasn't warm enough or because its a 4 cylinder. Looking further into this noted that this seems to be a common issue with Honda's cvt.
Cannot steer when turning and when turning the wheels keep turning, cannot get the speed up normally have to pump the gas hard for car to accelerate.
Vehicle was parked. Upon pressing brake to shift to "drive" the vehicle jolted multiple times then accelerated forward. The vehicle collided with another vehicle directly in front injuring a person who was between both vehicles at the time.
Driving on a busy s. E. Street in washington DC, driving about 20 to 30 mph. , heard a noise that sounded like a tire blowing out or some other type of noise emanating from underneath the car. I tried to press the brake, but instead the car accelerated and would not stop. It sped up at least another 15 to 20 more mph, and again, would not stop. There were vehicles in the back, so I could not use the emergency brake or shut the car off. There were also vehicles on the side and in front of my vehicle. I had to make a decision on how to slow the car down without hitting any pedestrians or any other vehicles. Decided to try and stop the car by hitting something stationary and ran into a set of steps that belonged to an office building. Airbags deployed and two passersby stopped to assist me and my passenger out of the car. We were both transported by ambulance to a hospital with substantial injuries to the chest, rib, neck and back for myself and the passenger.
While driving alone into a marked space in a public parking lot, my foot slipped off the brake and hit the accelerator. The vehicle then accelerated into the concrete base of a light pole. Immediately, the vehicle bumper crumpled, the left side of the hood crumpled, and the passenger side air bag activated. There was no one except myself in the vehicle and the driver side airbag did not activate. At this date, November 10, I have no idea how much damage was done to the vehicle.
Ongoing issue. Sometimes when I start my car in the morning, or when leaving the office in the evening, and put it in reverse and give it gas the engine revs, rpms go up, but the car won't go. I will roll down my driveway (it's on an incline), put the car in drive and still have the issue. Then, without warning, the car will respond to me giving it gas and take off. This is a very dangerous issue! I have almost collided with my neighbor before because of this. Took it to the dealership where I was told that they can't duplicate the issue so they can't check it. If the car won't go, how can I take it to them while I am experiencing the issue?.
When the car first starts up, and you shift it into drive, the car lurches forward rather rapidly. It is especially bad when you go from reverse to drive.
I had been experiencing stuttering with my vehicle while accelerating. Brand new vehicle and issues began at approximately 500 miles. Took it into the dealership and the service tech acknowledged the issue but claimed they ran full diagnostics and assured me that the vehicle was in perfect condition. Two weeks later, while driving the vehicle at approximately 20 mph, all of the warning lights came on and when applying pressure to the gas pedal, the car would not accelerate. Had to have the vehicle towed and direct injection system replaced.
The forward collision warning system on this vehicle has not worked properly since it was purchased new from darlings Honda in bangor maine on 6/14/13. It has been returned to the dealer at least three times for calibration and adjustments to no avail. I have knowledge of at least 2 other vehicles which are the same. I have also contacted american Honda and have been advised to return it to the dealer. (which as stated has been done) the dealer says that american Honda has furnished no information to them as to how to resolve this matter. The dealer agrees that this system in not working properly and is awaiting information. The forward collision warning system is listed by Honda as a safety feature. It simply does not work and has no value as a safety feature.
Within 2 weeks of purchasing a new Honda I experienced a 2 to 3 second hesitation problem when trying to accelerate from low speeds. The first time it happened I was on a green light turning left, so I had to yield to oncoming traffic. I had slowed down to about 3 or 4 mph but tried to accelerate once the way was clear only to find that I had no power! I then pressed the accelerator all the way to the floor but nothing happened. It was almost as if the car had stalled. Just as I was about to try and restart the car it kicked in and I surged ahead just seconds before being hit head on. The same thing happened a few days later. This time the oncoming car had to go around me or we would have crashed. My car is now close to 7 months old and I'm still having the same problem even though I've taken it to 2 different Honda dealers and reported it to Honda of America. My case number is #12013-04-1600114. I have spoken with them many times. The problem is that it's an intermittent occurance and almost impossible to recreate while riding around with the service manager in the car. I have found many instances almost exactly like mine on the internet as well as finding a class action lawsuit which is pending in California, so I don't know why they must see it for themselves. They should be able to diagnose the problem from my description, especially since other drivers are relating the same symptoms. I've been without my car a total of 34 days while it sat in the shop of 2 diff. Dealerships waiting for them to do something to fix my problem. As far as I know they never did anything except test drive it and then say "problem not found". I find that very hard to believe because the problem presents itself to me about every 3rd time I drive it. I bought a Honda because safety is a huge concern for me, but this car is not safe! please help me!.
2013 Honda Accord sedan, v6, touring model I stopped at the signal light at route 50 and chain bridge road; when the light changed I pressed the accelerator to leave, but nothing happened - the car was not moving or accelerating. Cars behind me honked and I pressed the accelerator more and then all of a sudden the vehicle's front tires spun a little and the car took off. This gave me a scare! this happened again 10-15 miles later as I was arriving near my home in alexandria, va. However, this issue is not causing the car to jerk, surge, or accelerate on its own; during this period of hesitation, when I need the car to accelerate, it appears to momentary die, stall, or run out of gas. I thought this was very odd, so I inspected the accelerator area, floor mats, etc. And everything appeared normal. This same incident happened on November 16, 2012, November 27, 2012, Dec 4, 2012 and Dec 11, 2012. I visited fairfax Honda service department hoping for a quick remedy. Unfortunately they were unable to duplicate the problem until the service manager and I drove the car together during my 11 Dec 2012 visit. The service manager told me this was characteristic of the 2012 Honda Accord sedan. He and I then drove a 2012 Honda Accord and I found this to be obvious when driving the 2012 Honda. I am very surprised this dangerous technical problem/issue has not been highlighted and remedied for the 2013 vehicle. I am very uncomfortable and concerned that due to the hesitation when attempting to accelerate I may be hit from the rear or hit by another vehicle due to this recurring malfunction. My wife feels this vehicle is dangerous and refuses to drive it. I have previously discussed this technical problem with Honda of America and they have opened a case file [xxx]. Since I first purchased my 2013 Honda Accord, the Honda has intermittent hesitations after stopping at traffic lights, stop signs, parking and so forth. For instance, for the second time in the last five days, I stopped, went into a store, returned, cranked Honda Accord, backed out, and the car would not "go. " it simply "stalled" , February 03, 2014. This was mentioned in 2012 to service manager, [xxx], at Honda dealership service center; in mobile, al, he had one of his technicians to test drive my Honda. Technician returned and claimed, after testing, and test drive, that he could find nothing wrong. I did not receive any paperwork other than a verbal assurance that I was probably just getting adjusted to the "new car. " after that, every two weeks or so, I would have a "whole week of intermittent" hesitations and stallings. This is very dangerous when trying to get through a traffic light - I have to really press down on the accelerator for the car to finely decide to "go". This problem was verbally reported again to [xxx], service manager, and technicians, January 10, 2013 - miles 5,384. The report was, "give it some time, the car is still new. " - now, at 24,200 miles, this 2013 Honda Accord still scares me. Yesterday (2/3/2014), at a four-way stop, my Honda stalled, the engine did not "turn off", but the car would not "go. " for about 15 seconds which is dangerous when in the middle of the road. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
The contact owns a 2013 Honda Accord sport. The contact stated while driving 5 mph out of a driveway there was a delayed response upon engaging the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer numerous times and they were unavailable to locate the problem. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 200.
After a complete stop, then an attempt to accelerate, the car hesitates and then moves forward in an uncontrolled manner. It seems like the transmission is hunting for a gear and then suddenly finds it allowing the car to move but not in a way the driver would like.
