1 Warning problem

Failure Date: 02/10/2026

So I am just driving and all these lights come on my dashboard about front collision warning failing and land departure failing and no traction control or power steering. It caused my car to slip in the rain since there is no abs without traction control. I skid for a bit till I regained control and pulled over. This is such a common problem in this generation of cars there are 100 of youtube videos and forums complaining about the abs module failing this is a danger to others lives. How has this not been recalled as the brakes are so crucial?.

2 Warning problem

Failure Date: 09/17/2025

Abs module failure on 2013 Honda Accord. Fcw system failure, abs failure, ldw failure along with brake light constantly on, also tire pressure sensor light on. Brakes have a softer feel when compressed. Diagnosed at independent repair shop as failure of the abs module which is a circuit board issue with improperly soldered wire connections, something Honda should cover as the module dealer cost is about $3000 plus labor. Brake sensitivity and possible failure is a major concern and the vehicle is at only 116k miles.

3 Warning problem

Failure Date: 09/11/2025

My Honda Accord is now difficult to drive due to tendency of steering wheel to cycle to the right at sporadic or random intervals. On more than three occasions, simply starting the car resulted in the steering wheel spinning to the right more than one full turn on it's own without my touching the steering wheel. The uncontrolled steering is more prevalent at lower speeds under 25 or 30 mph and is even more challenging in close parking situations. Although I have driven the car without this problem for approximately 8 years, with the sudden onset of issues last month, the Honda dealer claims this recall is not covered on my VIN number due to the car being repossessed from the former owner who inflicted significant interior damage which totaled the car. By the time I purchased the car the interior was in pristine and newly repaired condition with a salvage title. To my knowledge and experience the car has never been involved in any wreck. Dealer would like approx. $4600 from me to make the repairs to the electronic steering gearbox which would normally be covered under the current recall (which expires next year for my 2013).

4 Warning problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2025

Dear - NHTSA vehicle safety division, I am writing to formally document my ongoing concern regarding a faulty anti-lock braking system (abs) module in my Honda vehicle, which I believe poses a serious safety risk. Despite contacting Honda corporation on four separate occasions to address this issue, the company has refused to acknowledge or accept responsibility for what appears to be a recurring defect found in several Honda models produced between 2013 and 2018. The vehicle was inspected by a certified technician at a Honda dealership, who confirmed that the braking failure stemmed from a malfunction of the abs module. The technician also acknowledged that this issue is common in Hondas from the aforementioned model years. I relayed this information to Honda directly, along with my willingness to cover part of the repair cost, but was offered no resolution or goodwill support. The replacement part alone is quoted at over $3,100—an unacceptable burden for what appears to be a known issue. As a loyal Honda customer who has purchased five Honda vehicles over the years, I am extremely disappointed in the lack of accountability and response from both the dealership and american Honda motor CO. This is my first experience encountering this level of disregard from a brand I once trusted for quality and dependability. Unfortunately, Honda’s approach to this problem no longer reflects the reliability and professionalism customers have come to expect. I am submitting this statement in support of any formal investigation into systemic safety concerns regarding abs modules in affected Honda vehicles. If any additional documentation or information is required, please feel free to contact me directly. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Honda Accord 2013 exl VIN: [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

5 Warning problem

Failure Date: 09/10/2024

Vsa failure associate with fcw, ldw, vsa, tmps and eps warning light. The cause is vsa modular.

6 Warning problem

Failure Date: 08/15/2024

Code 123_11 for bad abs module. Lights that turn on within the dashboard are: front crash warning (fcw), lane departure warning (ldw), tpms, traction control, and electronic power steering. This issue is common within this generation of Accord and Honda needs to issue a recall.

7 Warning problem

Failure Date: 08/09/2024

Component vsa anti lock abs pump modulator 57110-t2f-a1 malfunction. Circuit board wiring inside of modulator has loose/dismantled wires causing complete failure of abs system for vehicle. This is a widely know problem amongst 9th generation Honda Accords and Honda has yet to issue a recall here in the united states.

8 Warning problem

Failure Date: 02/05/2024

Unknown.

9 Warning problem

Failure Date: 01/24/2024

On 1/24/24, we were driving at about 65 mph. With no warning, fcw, ldw, abs, tire pressure and check engine lights as well as fcw system failure reported on dash. The car slowed to about 20-25mph and sounded rough. Cars behind were going with speed of traffic (about 65) and had to break behind us and were honking their horns at us despite emergency flashers on. We pulled over and turned off engine for a few minutes. We turn engine back on and warning lights were off and we could drive normally again. We thought it was a glitch. About three weeks later on 2/21/24, we were on a highway pass over mountain traveling about 65mph. The lights came on again and car slowed again to about 25mph. This was very dangerous on a pass with many cars accelerating around us on the uphill part of the pass. We had to pull over again. We turned engine back on but fcw and ldw lights remained on. We were able to drive normally again. When we got home, I took the car to a mechanic who did a diagnostic test and replaced the high pressure fuel pump. The fcw and ldw lights remained on as well as notification of fcw system failure. The mechanic said he did not have recalibration equipment and I would have to go to Honda dealer for recalibration. I have an appointment on 3/6/24 with Honda for recalibration. I have since gone online and see many Honda owners are having this occur with various fixes but the problem has recurred for many owners. This is very dangerous and needs to be addressed ASAP before a collision occurs and possible death of those involved as a result.

10 Warning problem

Failure Date: 06/24/2023

An incident has not occurred, however, if I keep driving there may be one with the brake controls. The vsa modular unit has gone haywired and now my brakes are getting stuck and not sure if when I stop they may not work due to the system lights appearing. Honda dealer says it's faulty and when looking the problem up, seems like most Hondas get this problem. This should be safety recall, especially if your warranty has run out. Costly and aggravating.

11 Warning problem

Failure Date: 05/15/2023

Driving vehicle and dashboard lit up like christmas. Lights included fcw, abs, lane departure, etc. Shut vehicle down and lights turned off upon starting the car, but quickly came back on and now they are on for good. I took it to the gary smith Honda in fort walton beach, florida. They ran a diagnostic check and reported code 66-11, pressure sensor circuit malfunction, vsa modulator is faulty. Dealership quoted $2,600 to fix issue. Dealer advised vehicle is not safe to drive as brakes could lock up and traction control is faulty. I looked on youtube and found this to be a wide-spreed issue with more than 10k views on each video where mechanics were discussing the issue and providing repair tips. I’m encouraging everyone in the comments to file a complaint with NHTSA as several are already on file and it appears the Honda pilot already has a recall for this exact issue.

12 Warning problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2022

Vsa modulator seems to be a defective part in many Hondas and Honda is not doing anything about it. It is a safety issue the should be taken care by Honda. My car has only 100k miles and is needing this repair that is going to cost me over $2000! not fair for a consumer.

13 Warning problem

Failure Date: 06/30/2022

Car started not being able to accelerate and shortly after the several warning lights came on and a message says that the fcw system had failed. When these warning lights turn on, the stability and performance of the car is affected. I have read several posts from Honda owners having the same issues. Honda has not taken responsibility to address the problem. The components affected are due to defective vsa modulator that costs over $1500 and it not easily available.

14 Warning problem

Failure Date: 08/15/2021

The abs modulator has failed. It is available for inspection for $120 at the dealer which does not go towards the repair. I went to an independent shop and was told that they can't figure out the problem because of the complex computer system in Hondas. I then had it inspected at Honda and was told I need to replace the modulator for $1650 parts and labor. The abs system including the front collision warning and lane departure warning are no longer reliable. If I put off the repair I am at risk of the antilock brake system failing and the brakes locking up, the stability and traction control not working, and the brake pedal may become unresponsive over time. There are 5 warning lights that come on intermittently. This has been happening for the last year. This is a defective part and an ongoing problem for 2013-2015 Honda owners with many forums discussing the issue. It can occur with any amount of mileage on the car so that doesn't seem to be a factor.

15 Warning problem

Failure Date: 07/20/2021

I receive a message that states fcw system failure, which turns on multiple indicators on my dash board; tpms, abs, traction control, steering icon, etc. It disables my front collision warning as well as my lane departure warning, so I am not alerted anymore. The issue happens every time I drive. Sometimes within minutes, and other times after driving for about 20 miles or so. I have not taken it to a dealer, as they will more than likely not know what the problem is, based on many other people posting about this. It has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance reps, or others. No, the lamps and indicators on the dashboard is what started coming up when it first started happening.

16 Warning problem

Failure Date: 05/15/2021

Car steering wheel turns all the way right on its own. You have to use force in order to correct the cars path of travel. Steering issue occurred in our driveway with the engine running and we were backing. The issue continue when we placed the car in drive.

17 Warning problem

Failure Date: 12/04/2020

When driving or when car starts, several lights on the dash come on, fdw, brake, steering wheel, lane departure, abs. . . The warning fcw system failed flashes on message center. This has been doing for years on and off. Has gotten worse recently on more than not lately. Also the steering wheel has been locking up when I start my car.
