Fuel Pump problems of the 2014 Honda Accord

The contact owns a 2014 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving at various speeds and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle was sputtering and jerking. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had progressively worsened. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled and was towed several times. The contact stated that the starter was replaced several times. The contact stated that the failure recurred while driving at an undisclosed speed, and the contact was able to pull over to the side of the road. The contact restarted the vehicle and continued driving; however, the failure recurred while driving 30 mph on the highway, and the vehicle stalled in the middle of the road. The vehicle failed to restart as intended. The contact was able to push the vehicle to side of the road with the state I-pass assistance. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The contact stated that the failure increased as the weather temperature was increasing because the fuel pump was evaporating. The contact stated that an independent mechanic had previously diagnosed the vehicle with fuel pump failure. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 23v858000 (fuel system, gasoline); however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 138,000.
