My 2014 Honda has been have 2 major issues over the life of the vehicle. 1. Vtc actuator - prior to the oil indicator light coming on and the time to change the oil, my car screams out a loud consistent noise. I have reported this concern to team Honda in baton rouge on numerous occasions. The most recent repost was on [xxx]. I am concerned my engine will fail or explode. 2. Tires light indicator (see pictures) my tires were check on [xxx] and I spent almost $300 on a new tire. The same light which were on on that day came back on. All 4 of my tires were checked out and 3 out of 4 of them were in good condition. This has also been an ongoing issue. The tire light random come on, then the other 5 (all related) flashed an the dashboard. My first time experiencing this was less than a month after getting my vehicle but the tires was still covered under warranty at that time. By these lights coming on during non-emergencies, the consumer can not identify when the vehicle actually needed to be serviced. Both has been ongoing and reported for years and fed up with these issues. I am surprised they have not issued a recall yet! thanks for reading this and I look forward to hearing from a Honda representative very soon. In the dashboard, eps (electronic power steering), vsa (vehicle stability assist), abs (anti lock brake system), and brake lights would turn on and off intermittently. The lights could turn on starting the car in the morning or after driven for some time, for short period of time - 15 minutes to long period of time - 60 minutes. When these lights are on initially, a clank could be typically heard. When driven and slowed to around 10 mph, the high-to-low whine could be heard. At low speeds, the car jerks on deaccelearation and acceleration. The car may be difficult to drive smoothly at low speeds. Obdii reader found no fault codes. Reports of other cars with simillar problem indicate issue with abs module, wheel speed sensor, and/or battery.
Abs / vsa module failure.
I took my 2014 Honda Accord ex in for repairs on September 4, 2023 and the Honda dealership informed me that after replacing the battery that the it that the vsa modulator on the car has gone bad which has been a common problem with this year Honda Accord and others from 2013 all the way to the 2017. And this part has been on back order for months. This a shame.
Car occasionally experiences unintended acceleration. This happening today 9/4/2022. Car was brought to a complete stop. It suddenly accelerated while the foot was still on the brake, causing it to rear-end the car in front. Thankfully there no physical injuries reported (yet) we had experienced this a couple of time before. I had contact Honda as well as the local dealer and they cleared the car with no changes.
A strange thing occurred while I was dropping my grandchildren to school on 3/30/22 at 8:45 am. after dropping off the kids, as I started the car in the car drop off lane, there was no acceleration despite me hitting the accelerator, the car would not accelerate, and cars exiting the school parking lot backed up behind my car. Suddenly, the car accelerated in an uncontrolled manner on its own, brakes did not work, and all warning lights on the side of the dashboard came on. I steered the car towards an empty area and was ready to crash it into an obstacle to bring it to a stop. I tried to put the car in park but despite putting it in park, the car continued its acceleration forward. I also tried to turn off the car by hitting the start/stop button but the car would not turn off. The car accelerated uncontrollably for at least 0. 3 miles. After this uncontrolled and automatic acceleration, the car came to a stop. I had the car towed to the Honda dealership. Honda dealership advisor told me that there was no recall on this model. however, a quick search on car message boards shows that this phenomenon of sudden and uncontrolled acceleration has been reported on 2014, and 2015 and 2016 Honda Accord model year cars as well. Fortunately, no children or their parents in the school were injured this time. I hope you will direct the Honda dealership to identify and fix the problem. I am afraid to drive the car without understanding the reason for this frightening experience. dealership address is 675 state avenue emmaus PA 18049 phone number 610-965-1365 associate who is helping me is michael paxos.
The eps system has an issue that caused my car to stop on the highway. I was able to move to the side of the road but the car was jerking back and forth. The engine light and tire pressure sensor also infighter.
While driving the vehicle, stalling, and braking hard the electronic power steering, vehicle stability assist, forward collision warning, antilock braking system, lane departure warning and parking brake indicator lights all activated. I took the vehicle to my mechanic who diagnosed a faulty vsa modulator control unit. When I attempted to order the part we were informed that the part is backordered 3-6 months.
While breaking at slow speed tachometer races to 3000 rpm. After pressing the brake harder speed goes back to normal in a few seconds. This has happened on three different occasions.
February 13, 2021 around 11:45 I was driving with my son and his friend & my dog with me, I about to make a left in intersection when I hit the gas pedal I hear a noise under my car (boom) then the car won't go foward even though I hit gas. Then I put in reverse it's the same thing it won't stop the car are still moving backward so I hit the brake and the car stop in the middle of intersection. So I put the gear in "p" park position but the car are still moving down the hill. Slowly by slowly backwards and then I hit the snow on the side road that's why the car stop. I'm so nervous on that moment even my son and his friend are scared.
While driving the vehicle at low speeds on city streets the electronic power steering, vehicle stability assist, forward collision warning, antilock braking system, lane departure warning and parking brake indicator lights all activated. I took the vehicle to my mechanic who diagnosed a faulty vsa modulator control unit, Honda part # 57110-t2g-l02. When we attempted to order the part we were informed that the part is backordered with no expected release date. That was June 2, 2020. Today is June 22, 2020 and I called Honda again with the same result. I believe the warning indicators are accurately communicating that these safety systems are offline and am not driving the vehicle until I can repair it. It seems unreasonable and unsafe that Honda cannot provide a replacement for such a crucial safety-related part.
My name is bikram sharma and I bought this car Honda Accord 2014,from quest auto sales in sacramento,ca95821 on March 2020. This car don't have good acceleration or pick up speed like it should be . The day I test drive it was ok ,but he gave it to me next day. Afterwards I kept calling this dealer no answer back. I don't know what is the problem with this car feels like drive and pick up is very poor with very low power. Please let me know if you have any idea about the problem,on the highway performance is really poor, will appreciate a lot.
While driving the car at 65 miles per hour, vehicle auto braked suddenly causing car from behind to near miss my rear of my vehicle. Car the alarmed on abs, stability control, lane departure, forward collision, adaptive cruise, braking, power steering, vehicle stability and hill start problem. Took car to middletown Honda of NY. Dealer identified problem as vsa module failure. Cost to replace is $1550. 00 plus labor. Vsa module failure is a common problem and should be identified as a safety recall. Car that nearly hit me was driven by off duty police officer who was not happy. Took car immediately to dealer for service. Dealer did not have part to correct problem. Dealer demanded that car remain at dealer due to being unsafe to drive. Dealer was kind enough to give me a loaner car until repairs can be made. This is a serious safety issues!.
I took my car to Honda dealership 2 weeks ago. They reprogram a key and replace a recall sensor, so I was told. They also did a system update. Since then I have had multiple issue with my car. 1st was a charging system warning, which I thought was my alternator or battery, but they said was nothing. Three days ago I got into my car to start it and it would not start stated " fcw system failed" after 3 attempts its started but acceleration would not respond. Rmp stayed below 2000 even with my foot deep on the gas pedal. I turn the car off and let it sit for for 20 mins , then it accelerator came back. But fwc and all service lights stayed on. Wake up the next day all lights went away like nothing had happened. Today I was driving home and the acceleration occur again. While on the high way it would not respond. Made it home safe. As I was about to get in my car again it would not start. Car has power but is not starting. At one point of trying to start my mph gaged was flicking, even after I release the start button. I've read many reports by customers having the same issue with the fwc fail as well as the starter system. Base on my research it seems that only Honda Accord 2014 having this issue. Honda can't seem to find the source of the problem and this is bad. Whatever the cause may be Honda needs to find a solution to this. I was left stranded with no help and no one to call on. Because one moment my car was driving like the 2014 car it is and next it was not.
I am inquiring on my vehicle because I received another recall notice. When I put my car in drive, reverse, neutral, or park, sport I cannot see the light on the system. It constantly blinks like it's stuck. I have brought this up numerous times to different Honda dealers. I am in the military and active duty so I use my vehicle to drive for work. It also has connection issues with my bluetooth when I try to connect my phone or need to take a phone call. This has been happening for a few years and I still have my documentation and receipts for all the Hondas and service dealers that have preformed services on my car and it never gets fixed or resolved and dates back all the way from 2016-2020. There has been times when I turn my car on in the morning and the temperature and screens are all scrambled as well. I added all my receipts and I have spent over $6,007. 23 to be exact on my car repairs and still no resolution for the electrical errors that keep happening. I do hope someone can resolve this issue and my safety concerns on my vehicle. Thank you for your time and I can be contacted below. Christina segura cell: (973) 396-7097 emails: csegura@ mail. My transmission went out at 100k miles uncertain why but it's obviously a recall on a bad car I'm still making payments and the car doesn't work the car has engine issues and no cold a/c and many other issues I think this car needs to be overlooked at its only been since 2014 til 2018 and the car should have not had any issues I'm so sad that Honda let me down I owned several Honda's I'm the past and I trusted there vehicle but I'm not happy with this 2014 Honda Accord sport I hope this issues gets doubt with and Honda understands I owned Honda Accords before many of them and this one has been a lemon from what I see not a good year for Honda 2014 or my car was a lemon.
As I made a right turn to the parking spot with my right foot on the pedal I slowed down to 2-3 mph with foot still on the brake. At about 1-2 feet from the concrete retaining wall limiting the parking spot I pressed on the brake for the final stop. Car accelerated wildly and hit the concrete retaining wall ahead. My foot had never left the brake. Air bags did not inflate. The vehicle was in motion 2-3 mph, on a parking lot. Acceleration happened when I was breaking.
I was pulling in to a parking spot at 2 mph or less, and when I put my foot on the brake to stop, the engine surged and the car lurched forward out of my control, across the concrete barrier, over a walkway and into the wall of a restaurant, where it stalled. I had to restart the car to reverse it away from the crash. Fortunately no-one was hurt although there was considerable damage to the front of the car and the wall of the restaurant. This also happened in March 2014. I was pulling into a parking spot when the engine roared, the car lurched forward, and I crashed across a path and through a wooden fence. The damage then was $10k. The car was taken to the dealership's collision center, which reported only that "no defects in materials or factory workmanship were found. " there are at least 11 other reports of this problem from other people in this string, and it is clearly a very dangerous fault in the 2014 Honda Accord which needs to be investigated. There should be a recall before someone is seriously hurt or killed.
The contact owns a 2014 Honda Accord. While driving various speeds, the vehicle accelerated independently without warning. The contact mentioned that the vehicle was braking independently without warning. In addition, the steering wheel stiffened and turned right and left independently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the cause of the failure was undetermined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 18,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Honda Accord. While driving various speeds, the vehicle hesitated and then lunged forward when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The dealer could not determine the cause of the failure. The failure recurred intermittently. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 14,000. The VIN was not available.
My car surges while driving occasionally and surges while stopped. I was sitting at a stop sign waiting on traffic to pass by and my car surged so hard that it pushed it out a couple inches. I took it to the dealership but they can not find anything wrong. Read other complaints here and my car isn't the only one doing this. I have a 3 year old and no longer feel safe in my car.
Car accelerated while pressing the brake causing the vehicle to crash into the exterior wall of the store.
When a car has air bags you never know if they work unless you have a crash. With fcw, if you drive safely the alarm should never go off. With our car the fcw alarm rarely sounds but sometimes it will if you were going about 25 mph or less and a car close ahead would be stopping or turning right. Most times our fcw would not sound but sometimes you got false signals and you wondered why. After two dealer visits and one for 3 1/2 days there has been no change except now we do not get false signals. The Honda literature says of fcw ". . Can sense the presence of vehicles in front of you and issues alerts if it calculates you are at risk of a collision. . " that is why we bought the car and what we expect. After the second dealer visit and there was no change, the dealer service manager and I drove our vehicle and at times dangerously close to a vehicle ahead including large trucks and the fcw alarm did not sound. We tried a very similar new car off the lot like mine and drove it the same way. The fcw did not work as expected. Per a sheet the dealer gave me for fcw, it states that it uses radar with a range of up to 393 ft. If a car is going up to 75 mph with a car length (20') for every 10 mph fcw should sound the alarm up to 150' and going faster than the car ahead. Ours will not do that at any speed below 75 and getting too close going faster than the one ahead until going about 25 or under then not always. I say our fcw does not work. When discussing this with the dealer and a factory rep the service manager now says "it is your perception fcw does not work. " I say fcw does not work consistently and at higher speeds and buyers are being deceived. With self driving cars and acc is should be possible for Honda to fix or replace our fcw so that it does work and purported. There should be a recall to warn others and fix it. I welcome inspectors to test our fcw system.
I had just left the dealership after they cleared a "fcw system failed" message and I entered the interstate. While traveling in the lane adjacent to the far left at a speed of approximately 68 mph, the car violently jerked, the fcw system failed message returned, all emergency icons were illuminated on the dash, and my car lost acceleration in traffic. Despite repeated attempts to accelerate the vehicle, the engine had no response and was sitting at idle while I decelerated in the middle of traffic. The vehicle was returned to the dealership where it underwent 3 days of service for what was determined to be a failed accelerator position sensor. The day after picking the car up from the service department, the vehicle was being driven on the highway at approximately 65 mph. The car, without symptoms or warning, again violently jerked, lost acceleration, and displayed the same system failed message. The car has been at the dealership for 8 days and the ecu and main wiring harness are being replaced.
Tl-the contact owns a 2014 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, when the accelerator was depressed the vehicle would not respond and the rpm would rev up. The contact would have to press the accelerator to the floor to get the vehicle to respond. The dealer diagnosed that the mass airfold meter needed to be replaced. The vehicle had been repaired but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified. The approximately failure mileage was 1,000. Ne.
Cars forward collision warning system is not working consistantly, nor correctly. When it works it goes off at about half a car length only, no matter how you adjust the alarm to go off, one car length, two car length, or three car length. I have reported this to Honda, and I do have a case number, and Honda did send a area manager to check this out. I still feel that the system does not work, it is not a dealer problem, this is our fifth Honda. If more cars with this system are produced and let out on the highways there will be some massive accidents. Please help us corrct this problem.
