Gasoline Fuel System problem #1

The contact owns a 2015 Honda Accord. The contact’s son stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled and failed to exceed 50 mph. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that there was a misfire in cylinder #2, causing engine failure, and the contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 164,040.

Gasoline Fuel System problem #2

The contact owns a 2015 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving at 70 mph, the vehicle loss automotive power. The vehicle intermittently stalled and the contact stated that after waiting several minutes for the vehicle temperature to cool down, the vehicle returned to normal operation; the vehicle shuddered. No warning light was illuminated however, the "vsc system failed" message was displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the throttle control system needed to be replaced; the independent mechanic made the contact aware of NHTSA campaign numbers:23v858000 (fuel system, gasoline), 20v769000 (power train) however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Gasoline Fuel System problem #3

The contact owns a 2015 Honda Accord. The contact stated when the vehicle started, the mil warning light illuminated. In addition, the contact stated that previously, while the vehicle was parked, the contact noticed a strong fuel odor coming from the vehicle. The contact stated that the odor had gotten lighter over the passing days. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with fuel line failure. The contact was informed that the fuel line needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed that the parts were ordered. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000.
