1 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/08/2025

Lost power without any warning while taking an exit on the highway. Fortunately, I was able to pull over without an incident. Mechanic scanned : p0087. Replaced high pressure fuel pump assembly and associated parts. Honda had a recall on 2013-2014 models. Extremely likely this problem persisted in the 2015 model but Honda did not include this model year in the recall. Very expensive repair.

2 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/17/2024

When the car is started up cold, it will sometimes start to stall on the road. Turning on and off the car usually gets it working correctly again. Usually will only happen if the temp is at or near freezing. 2015 Honda Accord ex. This has been. Happening for years, but Honda says that there’s no open recalls even though this seems to be similar to the recall (23v858000) from 12/17/2023.

3 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/21/2024

In the last several years my daughter’s Honda Accord has stalled multiple times leaving her stranded and us having to have the vehicle towed. This last time was this evening in the middle of a busy intersection to get on a ramp to a highway. She was unable to get out of the car due to traffic and barely avoided getting rear ended. The time before was in the middle of the interstate. The car just died. We have had it towed multiple times to auto shops and have been told it is a fuel pump issue and the recall on the car needs fixed. I have tried repeatedly to get this fixed and I’ve been told that none of the dealers have the parts from Honda that once a dealership gets a part and they will let us know. I asked what are we supposed to do till then as this is an extreme safety hazard for my daughter to drive this car, and have gotten no answers to when this part will even be in.

4 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/28/2024

I am reporting a critical safety issue with my 2015 Honda Accord that poses a significant risk to my safety and that of others on the road. Although my VIN is not currently included in the active recall for the fuel pump affecting 2013-2017 Honda Accords, my vehicle is experiencing symptoms consistent with the issues described in the recall. Incident details: on 9/28/2024, while driving, my vehicle suddenly lost power. It was limited to approximately 2,500 rpm and a speed of 40-45 mph. This unexpected loss of power could have resulted in a severe accident, especially if I had been on a freeway or in heavy traffic where other drivers would not have anticipated my sudden deceleration. Diagnostic findings: I took the vehicle to a mechanic, who scanned the fault code as dtc p0087 (fuel rail pressure too low), confirming that the fuel pump is malfunctioning. The car can be made available for inspection upon request. Previous condition: prior to this incident, there were no warning lights or indications of a fuel system issue or any other issue. The sudden failure of the fuel pump has rendered my vehicle undriveable for over a week. Service challenges: I reached out to the dealership for inspection and potential repairs; however, they quoted me $250 for the inspection and indicated there is a shortage of necessary parts, with a potential wait time of several months. This delay is unacceptable, given the safety risks involved. Conclusion: given the correlation between my vehicle’s symptoms and the ongoing recall for fuel pump failures, I urge NHTSA to investigate this issue further. I believe my vehicle should be included in the recall, as it shares the same safety risks outlined in the active recall. This situation poses a significant risk not only to myself but also to other drivers on the road. Thank you for addressing this serious safety concern. I look forward to your prompt action.

5 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/23/2023

There was a recall on some of the 2015 for engine cutting out at times when you turn and try to accelerate and nothing happens. Well its been doing it with my car but they say not part of recalls. But at times I take a turn, can't go anywhere cause gas pedal don't go till I wait a few seconds and than it goes. Dangerous driving at times.

6 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/05/2023

Battery has been replaced 3 times. Starter is failing. It sometimes takes up to 15 minutes or more to crank my car making me late for work. Running errands/getting in & out of the car & having to turn the key 50 times in the heat of summer with a baby in the car is a safety hazard. Fuel pump issue when I put my car in reverse & start to back up, my car will die. Another safety hazard because I don’t have control of my car, it just keeps rolling backwards after it dies & doesn’t allow me to get out of the way if another vehicle is coming. Information center on the dashboard often tells me to check fuel cap. Anything happening in the fuel area is certainly hazardous. I’ve called the Honda dealership & they tell me my car is no longer under warranty. Yes, everything is available for inspection. The starter problem has been confirmed by an independent service center. The fuel cap notification appeared 2 weeks ago but the car has been dying in reverse for 2 years. The starter began failing 4 months ago with no help from the Honda dealership due to my warranty being expired.

7 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/10/2022

Hello, I turned my car on and saw the engine emissions system warning, which I’ve never seen before. I thought the cold front or sudden temperature change in my city had something to do with it & it would go away because my car is well maintained(all services done at Honda dealership). I was driving on the freeway about 75 mph and all of a sudden my car stops accelerating. I floored the gas pedal but it was only going about 30 mph(felt weak or like it was operating on battery only) this is when the “engine cooling system problem” and “engine temperature too hot” warnings started flashing. The car behind me almost hit me, other cars were passing & honking at me, I was holding up traffic so I got in the emergency lane. While in the emergency lane I had to turn my car on an off about 6 times for it to work normally for about 5/10 minutes before it would start stalling or the acceleration would stop working(this would happen when the coolant warning started flashing) until I got home. I was confused on why the car wasn’t accelerating like normal because I had more than half a gas tank left & my coolant has been replaced. The next day I turn on my car and it’s perfectly normal-no warnings. I took it to the Honda services and showed them the video I took of the warnings because I was scared and felt unsafe driving it, but they told me to bring it back when the warning lights turn back on the dashboard. It was normal for about a week, then the warning lights popped back up and it would start stalling/not accelerate again. I constantly had to turn my car off and on driving to Honda services. They told me nothing is wrong with the coolant, they did a diagnostic test on it and said it’s the computer module/electrical interference causing the warning lights/pumps not to not work. I believe it’s the hybrid propulsion system recall 15v602000, I have a 2015 Honda Accord hybrid but my VIN is not recalled? is there anyway to add my VIN to the recall? please and thank you.

8 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/14/2022

I had a high pressure fuel pump failure on August 14 2022. I was driving on the highway in stop and go traffic when suddenly my car could not accelerate over 30mph. This was dangerous not only for me but for others around me. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they diagnosed it was a high pressure fuel pump failure. I was then told that this is a very rare part to have failed and there was no cause to the failure. There were no warning lamps, symptoms, or other messages prior to the failure.

9 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/25/2022

I was coming out of a turn on a local street, going very slow. My vehicle ended up crossing the two lane road and hit a telephone pole. The pole did not fall down. Thankfully, neither myself nor my front passenger were seriously injured. We had on seat belts and the air bags did not deploy. There was no warning of a crash in terms of instruments or trouble with handling. The vehicle motor was shut off because I tried to cut the motor after impact and it was already stalled. The vehicle was declared a total loss. No one to my knowledge did any safety inspections. I have since learned that the crash may be a result of some known defects in the model. I have never received any recall notices in the years of owning the car. I purchased as certified pre-owned in 2018. This is a courtesy notice to help others.

10 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/08/2021

When accelerating it does like it’s running out of gas and doesn’t want to go… I can feel the car sputting! I was going through a light that had turned green and an 18wheeler was coming up behind me thought the car wasn’t going to accelerate.

11 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/10/2021

My car does have a problem when starting. I have seen online that those models had a recall in 2019 for the same issue. Recal no. N3x. Car is taking longer to start sometimes. I have checked the battery, starter and related items. I came to know when I was watching it in youtube. It is having for so many people on this model. Please help me fix my car.

12 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/06/2021

Vehicle caught on fire while parked at the airport. No prior mechanical issues or problems with the vehicle.

13 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/21/2020

Car stalls/dies intermittently while in reverse and in motion. Happens when going slowly to back out of parking spaces or driveway.

14 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/05/2020

I've recently noticed small oil spots on my garage floor. My car does not accelerate smoothly and has also started to stall when I'm initially starting it. The stalling seems to be worse when the car has cooled off but once it finally starts, it is running rough until I hit a stable speed. It also seems to run rougher when making turns (which is typically when I'm attempting to accelerate). It has been happening for the past 3-6 months, although inconsistent. I've also had a new battery every year since I've owned this vehicle despite recalls on battery parts/sensors.

15 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/20/2020

My car won't start on the first time I turn the key. I have to turn the key maybe 3-4 times to get the car started. I'm not sure what it could be. I've done research and I'm not the only one that has the problem. It may be a manufacturer problem.

16 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/08/2019

The contact owns a 2015 Honda Accord. The contact stated that on several occasions while the key was in the ignition, the vehicle failed to start. The contact was able to start the vehicle after several attempts. The vehicle was taken to spring branch Honda (10250 katy freeway, houston, TX 77043, (713) 464-7482) to be diagnosed. The mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The battery was replaced 3 times however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure a second time. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 19v060000 (fuel system, other) as possible solution for the failures. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 78,324.

17 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/09/2019

Recall vehicle was stationary at a gas pump.

18 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/15/2018

Tl-the contact owns a 2015 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the vehicle was making a grinding and whining noise when he would push button start his vehicle. He thinks some of the gears were not matching up. The dealer hennessy Honda of woodstock 8931 GA-92, woodstock, GA 30189 (770) 924-9000 stated that since the warrenty was expired they would not cover the expenses and there were also no recalls. They also descussed that a TSB that had also come out on the issue. The manufacturer was called and they mentioned there was again no coverage. The failure mileage was 82,000. Tf.

19 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/13/2018

Several times a day, when starting off from a standing still, it appears to be fuel starved. Many times this lasts from 1-2 seconds to about 5 seconds! I returned this vehicle to Honda dealer in panama city, FL who drove the vehicle for about 15-20 minutes then informed me, this is normal!.

20 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2018

The engine makes a very loud rattle at cold startup for about 1 to 3 seconds. It only makes this noise when starting the car for the first time that day, unless it has been sitting for 5+ hours, then will rattle again at cold startup. Also, the engine burns 1 quart of oil approximately every 2500-3000 miles requiring additional oil to be added.

21 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/26/2017

When starting car initially in the mornings and driving car in reverse with only braking and not applying any gas, after the first 10 feet in reverse the engine will rev up by itself and then stabilize, or engine will gulp air with engine jerking, or engine will rev up very high with the final last sound of clashing metal between the engine/transmission and the engine dying on the spot. These problems only occur with the initial starting of the car and only in reverse. The car functions normally after the events described above. The car is always garaged. The engine behavior described is intermittent and unpredicatable. Clashing metal and stopping of engine last occurred July 26, 2017.

22 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/18/2016

Took vehicle to dealer on October 18, 2016 per letter from Honda to have product update dtc p1890 performed. This was an update to the pcm software for cvt transmission. Ever since this time the mileage has dropped significantly. I was getting 33mpg around the city. It has dropped to 27mpg. Highway mileage has also dropped from 37mpg to 34mpg. Car feels as thought it is in too low of a gear when accelerating - a change from before the software update. Took car back to two different Honda dealers. They could find nothing wrong nor have they heard about similar problems.

23 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/12/2016

Engine misfires at highway speeds with the tachometer surging 1,000 rpm's with each misfire. You cannot maintain your speed and therefore are not able to safely drive on the highway. Took it to a dealer who stated someone else had recently been in with the same problem, but could not recreate the probelm on a test drive. They reset the computer to factory settings, but didn't hear back yet from the owner if it resolved the issue. They didn't reset my car's computer, however. My problem appears to match that of NHTSA id number 10838521.

24 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/08/2015

While driving in stop and go traffic, either on the highway or on residential streets, occasionally, the vehicle will hesitate. This hesitation will last 1-3 seconds and then the vehicle will accelerate as expected. This hesitation can cause a dangerous situation since the vehicle will not move as expected. The vehicle was purchased new, and this has occurred since its purchase. I've taken it to the Honda dealer, but they can not duplicate it since it is an intermittent issue. Their response was to stop using the econ button. I have stopped using this feature, but the issue has persisted, (although it has lessened in occurrences). The issue can occur 1-2 times per week, with the last occurrence on 12/8/15. There is a technical service bulletin on the vehicle 15-036, which may or may not be related, but last time at the dealer, they couldn't find the TSB, so the software update likely has not been made to the vehicle.

25 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/06/2015

Intermittently, but always upon acceleration (could be pulling onto the highway from a stopped position, merging/speeding up to get on the highway or pass another vehicle, or starting to move when the light turns green) the car will fall flat with no power. It doesn't stall, just doesn't respond to the gas pedal. Most times, happens in second gear. Releasing the gas pedal and then pressing it again most times resolves the problem. Sometimes, it takes a few tries. This is a very dangerous problem, and I have had many motorists swerve around me or blow the horn at me because I can't get the car moving fast enough. I just spent $30,000 on this new car, and the dealership cannot duplicate the problem so they're sending me on my way with a vehicle that's a potential death trap.

26 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/09/2015

While idling down the street , I noticed that the tachometer indicated an rpm of less than 500. I depressed the accelerator to move forward and had no response . The accelerator was then depressed all the way to the floor with still no response. The accelerator was the letup all of the way and depressed again and the engine speeded up as normal. This same problem was experienced in a 2013 Honda that we just traded in for the same problem that existed for the two years that we owned it. This could be a dangerous situation if it occurred in heavy traffic or on a freeway. Honda says that these are the only two vehicles that have ever been reported with this kind of problem. Please enter this as a potentially serious traffic problem .

27 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/15/2015

When you pressure on the accelerator pedal to power the vehicle (like pulling out into traffic or changing lanes in traffic, the car stalls and put you at risk of getting into an accident. It happens sitting at a traffic light or driving 55 mph and trying to change lanes. Does not matter if the car is warm or cold, but occurs less when cold.

28 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/04/2015

The 2015 Honda vehicles have a "green" product that consist of fuel lines and various wiring that has a soy based composition. Rodents are eating the fuel lines and wiring because of the soy based ingredient. I know of numerous vehicles that have leaked gasoline due to the damage caused by rodents. I believe the problem includes numerous vehicle makes. I feel that our new Honda is a time bomb in terms of potential fires. Where can we park our vehicle and know that it is safe from rodents. Please take my comments serious! it appears that Honda America has developed tape to wrap the soy based products in. . . . . They know that they have a problem. My car was repaired this week and the dealership did not wrap the soy based products in the tape?????? will it take someone dying to get this problem corrected?.
