Takata recall. The contact owns a 2015 Honda Accord. While driving 50 mph, the front passenger side of the contact's vehicle crashed into a fire truck. All of the air bags deployed with force except the front passenger side air bag. The driver sustained seven fractures in the wrists, and also a neck injury. Medical treatment was required. The vehicle was towed and the insurance company and a legal source were investigating the cause of the crash and the air bags. A police report was filed. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign numbers: (kg0) 17v418000 (air bags) and (kh0) 17v418000 (air bags), but the contact was not notified until months after the crash. The manufacturer was notified. The vehicle was extensively damaged on the front passenger side. The contact also experienced more than two crashes before the most recent crash. None of the air bags deployed in the previous crashes. The failure mileage was unknown. Parts distribution disconnect. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Tl- the contact owns a 2015 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the side airbag and wires was able to be accessed by a child from the rear seat. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician stated that there was no failure and was unable to alter the design of the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 45. Pam.
