1 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 03/09/2026

Going home from work, at highway traffic light intersection and car began to shake, sputter. . Engine and oil light briefly came on before car stalled and shut off. In panic put gear into park, turned ignition button, car started and was able to put into drive and proceed. Not long after, on a main road, waiting for turn light, stalled, lost power again. Did not have any acceleration or power. Car was again shaking, luckily pulled into parking lot, put in park, shut off car and back on. When trying to accel, same thing happened as I was half way across 2 lanes, had zero accelerate power, car was shaking/sputtering, but luckily made it across. Car sat off for approximately 10 minutes. Was able to turn on and accelerate to get home without problem. This is a very scary situation to be in, especially in very heavy city traffic conditions. I have never been notified of any sort of recall. A case # has been made with Honda USA. They also let me know that although the year and model of my car was a part of a fuel pump recall, and even though I experienced the same issues that other owners were having in which their vehicles were recalled, that my VIN # was not part of that particular batch recall. Honda dealership shop has diagnosed as a fuel pump. (can provide shop estimate).

6 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 05/30/2025

I am reporting an ongoing issue with my 2016 Honda Accord touring v6 caused by a misdiagnosis at Honda of the avenues in jacksonville, FL. In December 2024, they diagnosed my oil leak as a valve cover gasket issue and charged me for the repair, but the leak never stopped. I returned multiple times and was told “everything is fine,” even though oil was clearly visible. Because the real issue was never fixed, oil eventually dripped onto my alternator and caused it to fail while I was driving on the highway. My car stalled in traffic, creating a dangerous situation. I had to replace the alternator at lucas Honda out of pocket. As of November 2025, the leak continues, and I discovered the true source is the top front solenoid, not the valve cover gasket they insisted on. This misdiagnosis, continued leak, I hear other people on facebook Honda Accord 9 generation that are having similar issues with oil leaks and Honda refuses to acknowledge theses issues.

7 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Knock sensor has been replaced twice in 4 years, the emissions engine states it needs to be changed again. This is causing reduced engine power and acceleration and other issues.

8 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 03/18/2025

Rattles during cold start.

9 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 02/04/2025

My 2016 Honda Accord has approximately 137,000 miles. I change the oil, filters, etc. At regular intervals. One night I noticed a ticking when going uphill. I thought it might be a belt. (no warning lights) the next day I had to go somewhere, and on my way back the ticking got noticeably worse and then the engine started screeching. Massive loss of power. Shortly after, a loud bang/thump noise and the car stopped running. I pulled into a school parking lot, got the car towed. Next day the mechanic where the car was towed said I threw a rod, and it went through the engine block and the oil pan; and my engine would have to be replaced. I have not (yet) replaced the engine (waiting for estimate). Spoke to Honda corporate (case #15343893) to see if they could help me out (financially) with the replacement, because everyone I talked to said it's highly unusual for a Honda to throw a rod with mileage this low (anecdotal I know, but still). I spoke to local Honda dealer (Honda corporate said it would have to be inspected by Honda) but have not had it towed there yet.

Honda knows about this issue and has has yet to recall the Accord sedans for repair. I would like Honda to reimburse me for the cost to replace all parts and labor. 19 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2022

The car had a problem where it will not start because the stater grinds. Honda knows about the problem and won’t do a recall instead they charged me to have the remove the engine. Install a new torque converter and starter. They said the factory had a bad batch of torque converters. And quite a few cars were affected by this problem. Seems ridicules that a problem they k ow about with a part quality is the problem of the consumer. It’s about $3400 for each person that has to deal with this. The way the starter stays engaged and just grinds it could easily cause a fire.

Failure Date: 09/21/2022

On Wednesday, September 21, 2022, my wife was parking her car in the parking lot of a tj maxx, 4220 summer Ave, memphis, TN 38122. As she turned right into the parking space, at a very low rate of speed, 1-2 mph, the engine revved and launched her into another parked vehicle. Once the engine revved and launched she had both feet on the brake pedal. It did light damage to the vehicle she hit and moderate damage to her 2016 Honda Accord coupe. The impact was hard enough to deploy the driver side airbag. No one was in the other vehicle and she did not sustain serious injury. The car was towed to a body shop. The other vehicle was drivable and insurances were exchanged.

My 2016 Honda Accord ex-l v6 is on it's 4th starter. A service bulletin has been issued 16-002 to fix the problem ,but it has not made a difference. I have contacted Honda corp(case 13172338) I August 2022 and they did not want to help even though they knew it was a on going problem with v6 owners. The internet has plenty of v6 owners that have the same problem and are left with cars that can't be fixed properly. I believe that since Honda does not have that engine since 2017 they are wishing the customers will just go away.

I have a 2016 Honda Accord ex -l. V6 . It has 100500 miles . In that time it has gone through 3 starters. Honda has issued a service bulletin( 16-002) but never a recall. Checking the internet there a lot of people having the same problem. I have filed a complaint with Honda motor and they want to split the cost of repair. I don’t think that’s fair because it is a known problem because of a design flaw.

33 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 06/08/2016

Honda quality problems. We bought a 2016 Honda Accord in January. After few months the car started to have problems. The car loses acceleration all of a sudden and comes to a low speed (0-5 mph) within seconds. Every time this happened I was driving on the freeway. I took to the dealer many times. First time - the dealer said that he couldn't find anything wrong with the car second time - as per Honda tech, they diagnosed that the chip in the computer is the problem. So they said that the software in the computer needed upgrade (strange. . It is a brand new car. And why is this happening to only one car. It should have been the case with other cars produced at the same time). Third time - as per Honda tech, they replaced the acceleration kit as they thought that is the problem. Fourth time - now they think the wiring is the problem and replaced that. Every time, I drove that car trusting them, I risked my life. I avoided accident 8 times on freeway from being rear ended. I drove into the central ditch on the freeway and injured my shoulder. I am on medication for the past 1+ month. I am worried that I drive this car and am going to die.

Volatile organic compounds ,including "methyl isobutyl ketone" are entering the vehicle cabin while the engine is on. This is causing serious eye irritation and breathing irritation. This despite the air conditioning being on, all vents closed, all windows up. I've attached the results of a "passive diffuse monitor" that was used in the cabin to monitor the air quality for approximately one week in December 2016.
