I was driving in the city at a speed of thirty mph when my wife, a passenger in the car, and myself, heard a loud pop. Suddenly I was unable to see the traffic which was following me because my rear window was completely shattered. Since I had traffic behind me and it was raining hard, I decided to drive a few more blocks to seek refuge and help at a nearby car dealership, which specializes in glass repair. There they taped and covered the rear window opening in plastic after removing the shattered windshield and vacuuming up the many glass pieces which fell into the car. I have had to contact my insurance company, as both Honda corporation and the warranty I have remaining on the vehicle will not cover the repair. This I was told by by the Honda dealer where I purchased the vehicle.
While driving the moonroof "exploded". . . Basically it shattered and the pieces of glass flew off across the rod and the trunk (left scratches all over. Weather was partly cloudy but dry. Dash cam doesn't show any rocks or debris thrown up.
Backup camera located in rear trunk lid failed. Mileage under 10,000 mi. Dealer has no recall for 2016 Accord sedan model. This item. Automatic high beam dim system failed within first three months of vehicle ownership.
My backup camera stopped working when I took my car to the dealership to get an exterior replacement part. It worked fine when I dropped it off. Now the screen is completely black when you are in reverse but you can still see the backup camera lines. The dealership is trying to charge me $140 to even look at it. Somebody posted this exact complaint in July 2020. They stated that the camera housing might be letting condensation and water inside, causing it to short out. There are two additional complaints with the same issue from March 2020, one in February 2020, and one in January 2020. This is clearly a manufacturer issue that needs to be investigated.
The backup camera has stopped working. For a few weeks it would intermittently turn work, and now it has stopped working completely. When I put the car in reverse, the screen dash is black with the overlay image of lines showing distances still appearing but no camera image. It is being reported on the internet that it is believed this is due to the camera housing allowing condensation and moisture getting in causing a short. The system appears like it is trying to show the camera image, but it is not getting a signal like it has shorted out.
My car is 4. 5 years old with 44,000 miles and the back up camera has started acting strange . The lighting is very dim with lines through the picture appearing like the circuitry is dialing. This is very soon for such a new car and Honda should be responsible.
Daytime running light is out.
On 10/10/2019 (Thursday) approximately 4:45 pm there was construction going on between exit 312 and exit 319 (clayton /fuquay) area hwy 40. Construction dropped a large load which sounded really loud and debris was blown in the air and covered my car with cement like stuff on my car. Its all over my windshield and body of my car. Second time at 5:45 am in the morning on 10/15/2019 (Tuesday) they are working again in the area, and their are large clouds of smoke coming up again and then I see later on in the day when I get into my car that I have this stuff on my car somemore. I was driving both times on the highway 40.
Driver side door has rattling noise when driving over 70 mph and passenger side door has rattling noise when going over small bumps and dips in road going at least 25. It may be the windows while driving at higher speeds.
Front windshield has what look like hard water spots and in the sunlight you cannot hardly see out. The dealer has said they acid cleaned this and some of it was removed. Now it has returned making driving into the sun impossible. Car is always in garage and it does not rain in albuquerque so it is some kind of defect in the windshield glass. I will ask the it be replaced this trip to dealer as only 9500 miles.
The rear window glass has wave in it that makes visibility poor and the view is distorted.
Transmission( cvt) vibrates around 20 to 45 mph. Rear window is distorted. (wavy vision through window).
Driver-side side-view mirror is split into a flat and convex parts. This is eye-stress inducing and is not natural to look at. Please replace with proper blind spot system.
Rear view camera is totally useless in situations where there is a mix of bright sunlight and shade conditions. The dynamic range of the camera isn't large enough to provide a clear picture of what is behind you. You get a blown out picture with no detail in the sunlit areas and blacks in the shade areas. I've had other cars with backup camera systems and this is the worst excuse for one I've ever seen.
The rear window is distorted which prevents a clear and accurate view of all objects behind the vehicle. This distortion affects the entire back window and it causes the objects viewed through the window to be wavy and distorted. Its effects are magnified in wet weather and at night. The distortion prevents the operator from accurately judging the size, speed and distance of the vehicles traveling behind the vehicle. The distortion occurs when the vehicle is moving and stationary.
When you put the gear on r. Revier camera is not functional in sunny day when the shade is on the bumper. You cannot tell where is the bamper and where is the shade. You can hit the aobject or person behind the car using this camera. See pictures.
There appears to be a problem with distorted glass being used in the rear windows of 2016 Honda Accords. Looking through the rear window of my Accord sport, vehicles and especially lane markings appear out of focus and wavy. The problem is even worse in rainy conditions. This makes it difficult to determine the proximity of vehicles behind me, especially in heavy traffic conditions. Honda's district service manager acknowledged the problem without even asking to see my car. He called it "characteristic" of the Accords and claimed they all have varying levels of distortion. However, Honda refused to offer a replacement window.
The Accord 2016 model has a very bad distortion in the back windshield - where one headlight/light will be reflected/shown as multiple. It is worse at night, and is very unsafe to drive with. The pictures reflect (to a minimum) how it appears. It is a huge distraction because there are lights everywhere when you look at your rearview mirror, and also is unsafe because it is not accurate as to where the exact light is coming from. It seems to be from the defroster lines, but I have not had this problem with any other cars I have owned before.
The driver's side mirror is the worst idea in the world how is it that no one is not able to see just how bad/dangerous that mirror is I have had three close calls count them three in one day of driving in hi traffic I need this replaced.
2016 Honda Accord ex - 100 miles driven. The partition/split in the driver side rear view mirror distorts the view which makes it very hard to see approaching vehicles. The mirror is not safe and should be replaced ASAP with a regular mirror. Not sure how Honda's engineers could develop such a dangerous mirror.
The split in the driverside rear view mirrior is deceiving u cannot see traffic on coming very well on driver side I want to rip it out and replace the mirror glass very unsafe.
I inspected several similar Accords at the dealer and they had the same distorted rear window. The service manager at the dealer acknolwedged the distortion, but claimed it couldn't be fixed.
Partitioned side view mirrors on my sport model makes me more confused than ever. It defeats the purpose of these mirrors. Honda you make things better, how in the world you thought it makes side viewing easier/clearer. This is classic example of "improvement for the worse". Also, Honda used a cheap rearview mirror. Really did not expect this from Honda.
Steering wheel occludes the speedometer. Analog speedometer is in the middle of the dashboard and very large. Depending on the position of the steering wheel you loose at least 25 mph range (either on the low or high end of the spectrum). There is no digital readout which would be a simple fix to this issue as the low center part of the speedometer "ring" is always visible. Also, the driver's seat has a built in arch that does not fit ever body. It is not adjustable and (depending on height) pokes you in the mid-low back and doesn't let the upper back get support or relax into the seat. Result is very tight and spasmed back muscles. This gets worse over time.
The ¿driver¿s side expanded view¿ mirror is confusing to look at and not safe. A solution would be to replace this mirror with a regular mirror the driver can adjust. The camera view for the passenger mirror should have an option to turn it off. Night driving is difficult because of the vehicle lights. Otherwise this is a great car!.
