I have a 2017 Honda Accord that the back up camera is not working. I sent an incident report previously. I see the 2017 back up camera has a recall. How can I get my camera repaired? the broken camera did cause an accident.
The paint on the hood of the car contains several chips and the paint on the entire hood has faded and has lost its color which was black, the appearance now appears to be faulted.
The contact owns a 2017 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the vehicle delayed starting. Additionally, the contact stated while driving 15-20 mph, several unknown warning lights illuminated, and the vehicle started stalling while parking in the driveway. The contact was able to park the vehicle. The contact stated while driving 25 mph with the hazard lights, the vehicle was stalling. The contact pulled to the side of the road. The contact then drove to an independent mechanic at slow speeds. The independent mechanic diagnosed that the fuel rail pressure was significantly low. The mechanic determined that the high-pressure fuel pump (hpfp) had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired at the contact's expense. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 19v060000 (fuel system, other). The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist because the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 49,631.
Carplay freezes or disconnects randomly when in use. Will be driving with navigation is frozen so would be driving past destination and cause a distraction trying to fix it. Or it will randomly disconnect when in use and will keep my eyes of road trying to connect it again or hold my phone while navigating. Honda states there is no update to the system to resolve it or anything they can do, directs people to phone company regarding their system. Phone company states they cant do anything about it. Have read multiple forums with others complaining and no solution.
While driving on September 6, 2023 I sunroof exploded and had glass everywhere. I almost killed myself. Very very dangerous and Honda should be held accountable (sunroof glass exploded).
The audio entertainment system malfunctions and randomly makes extremely loud static noises, squealing, beeping, thumping and bass sounds, from all speakers. These noises can't be controlled or stopped, as they happen even when the audio is turned off. The noises are extremely unpleasant, uncomfortable, and loud enough to cause hearing loss. The noises happen randomly and startle the driver which can lead to accidents. The only way to stop the noises is to turn off the car, requiring the driver to pull over suddenly when the noise becomes unbearable, and often must turn off the car when stopped at red lights which is very dangerous. The dealer confirmed that Honda is aware of this problem, that the only remedy is to completely replace the audio entertainment system, and that the units are on back order and unavailable. There are no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem, it just suddenly occurs. The noise began suddenly about two months ago, and has become increasingly louder and more frequent, to the point of happening every time the vehicle is operated and almost constantly while being operated.
The contact owns a 2017 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 40 mph, the vehicle started to stall with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact was able to pull over on the side of the road and turned off the vehicle. The contact was able to restart the vehicle, but the vehicle was not operating normally. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and the mechanic stated that the vehicle was experiencing similar failure to NHTSA campaign number: 19v060000 (fuel system, other) and referred the contact to the dealer. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and the dealer stated that no failure was found. The manufacturer was contacted, and the manufacture stated that the vehicle was already repaired under NHTSA campaign number: 19v060000 (fuel system, other) and provided no additionally assistance. The failure mileage was 45,000.
Infotainment system crashes/reboots while operating apple carplay. Causing maps, music, and other functionality to be unresponsive. Some think it’s because of the cpu overheating inside the unit. It is available for inspection. This causes the driver to take their eyes off the road due to an unusual occurrence in the vehicle. Problem is hard to replicate. Happens randomly. Problem has not been inspected. Problem happens without warning and occurs in all conditions of driving/infotainment use. Problem first appeared after 3 months of ownership (January 2021).
My vehicle continuously loses battery charge, even when it’s being driven weekly.
No incidents.
My issues started when I was driving right heahlight went out, after replacing the headlight bulb my car strated to have issues starting. One time you could turn it on and next time it will try to turn but light started to blick on the dash board. I tested battery twice with o'riley and Honda and had 100%. Battery pc was replace and car was working fine for a few days. When I was going to work I notice ride side led light was off half way and when I turn the car did notice right bulb was out and I had replace one side already. When I try to fix the bulb is did turn onas it seem that is was loose but then car turn off. After this incident battery was drain. This is just starting and might get to a stalling vehilce in the middle of the highway since it does seem it has electrical problems.
Apple car play freezes up on the 2017 Honda Accord while the navigation is in play, distracting the driver while on the freeway. The driver does not know when this freeze happens until they miss their exit, causing a big distraction. These cars are being sold as compatible with the apple phones, but this is not true. American Honda is aware of the problem. Nothing is being done.
The rear backup camera quit working making it more dangerous to back up without it. The dealer was too busy to examine it for awhile. I believe it may be a cable problem like was identified on other Honda models recently because my camera screen is also blank.
The car will suddenly have a high-pitched screaming coming from the speakers for no apparent reason with no way to stop the noise. Turning the sound system to zero volume or even turning the power to the radio off does not stop the noise. I have measured the decibel level between 80 -128 decibels with no way to make it stop. I have had to stop the vehicle on the freeway multiple times and turn off the car engine for 15-20 minutes to make it stop. I have recorded the sounds if anyone is interested in hearing them I tried to upload a file but it wouldn't let me an mp4 file. Honda swears they have never received this complaint before but my google search shows this is a known problem that costs between 2k - 4k to fix. This is a hazard and needs to be recalled. Please help. I paid 35k for this vehicle. I've been dealing with this issue for over 4 years. And I believe my hearing is becoming impaired because of this issue.
The car is stalling on the highway out of nowhere. Car won’t start back up for about 20 minutes. Car completely shuts off during traffic. Almost caused a big wreck with an 18 wheeler because I was unable to move the car out the middle lane because it shut off. Causing false codes to pop up. Very dangerous situation with my three small children in the car.
My back-up camera stopped working at around 40,000 miles of driving. When I put my car in reverse, I only get a black screen. There was a similar recall done for back up cameras for Honda Accords in 2018, my car is a 2017. According to other owners online, many are having a similar issue. Thank you.
There is a recall for 2018 model Honda Accords. Nhtsa recall 18v-629 this specific complaint is for 2013-2017 models as well. Federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 111 - rear visibility. Due to a software error, the center display assembly that normally displays the rearview image may not provide the rearview image when the vehicle is reversing. Failure to display the rearview image may reduce visibility and increase the risk of a crash. . Read more...
Rear back up camera stopped working @ around 40k miles. It is now always black when the car is in reverse.
Unknown my brother had a car accident and was deceased in it. Very disappointed in Honda's safety/crash ratings.
Backup camera only shows a blank/black screen.
Hello, I have been having issue since I bought my car new it has about 48,000 miles on the on. And to call north America Honda they will help you. Please you can contact me at 916-678-1894 thank you rich.
I have continue to have issues with my navigation freezing. Then the whole navigation system will shut off and will eventually do a reboot in the middle of driving. It is definitely a safety hazard as you are trying to drive, navigate and try to figure out why your navigation system is breaking and not working working while driving. Especially if you are driving in an unfamiliar area using your navigation because you actually need it, then it becomes very frustrating and very dangerous and hazardous.
Safety concern--backup camera failed.
My backup camera at first was blurry and now all I can see is black with either orange or yellow lines. I depend on this camera.
Back up camera stops working. 4 years of owner ship, 55,000 miles.
Backup camera is not working properly. Camera is foggy and not producing a clear picture. Yes this problem has been confirmed by a Honda dealer. The rear camera had to be replaced and was replaced by the dealer. The cost to repair was 580. 000 and not covered under any warranty's.
My 2017 Accord infotainment system's apple carplay constantly freezes whenever I use it. This is posing as a safety risk because the infotainment unit would randomly freeze up and require shutting off the car and turning it back on in order for it to work again. There are multiple people experiencing this. Https://forums. Macrumors. Com/threads/2016-2017-Honda-accord-carplay-issues. . Read more...
The backup camera on this vehicle stopped working during the summer of 2021 with fewer than 15,000 miles on the vehicle. The failure of the camera was noted on an invoice for an oil change dated July 1, 2021, which I have retained should you want it. At the time, I learned that about 600,000 Hondas from the next two model years had been recalled because of a defect with the backup camera. Attempts to obtain informal accommodation from Honda proved useless, and I ultimately decided to have the camera replaced at a cost of over $550. The service tech verified that the original camera was not working before having it replaced. The invoice is attached and I have retained the original camera should you wish to inspect it.
When driving the car it will occasionally brake when another car is passing in the opposite direction my local Honda service technician can find no problems. When we deactivate t he cmbs(collision mitigation braking system) the problem goes away.
Rear-backup camera went black after I drove car to pick up son at friends house at night camera worked, parked car overnight, went to use car next morning rear camera inop, I thought it was fuse so I checked fuse, not blown. Took car in to Honda dealership 2 days later stated it was p&a due to failure, est. At over $700 to replace. Very unhappy since car is only 4yrs old and only 40k miles. How do Honda owners know that this year camera was not affected like the recall on the 2018's. What if some 2017's had the defective cameras installed, so I called Honda was told no recall on camera, brought up the 2018/ recall to the rep and she stated this did not affect my VIN#. I was not satisfied and wanted this issue to be reviewed since there was no damage to the camera. I feel this is an issue Honda should rectify due to it being a safety issue and the recalls on over thousand of other cameras in their other vehicles. Honda should stand by the oem parts that came with the vehicle and correct the safety issue regarding rear cameras that stop working. This is a multi-dollar industry because of the everyday people like myself that purchase these vehicles and that is why I feel Honda should be more concerned with the safety of they drivers and others around them and add 2017 models to their recall list instead of making the consumer pay to an absurd amount of money to fix an issue with Honda parts. Honda needs to stand by the craftsmanship of their parts and vehicles just like any other business and make it right to the consumer. I also had issues where car would feel like it was going to die while turning and accelerating, took it in and dealership to find out it was the fuel pump, made it seem like they were doing me a favor to replace it since it was out of warranty by only a few hundred miles when in fact it was a recall on my VIN#. It has been fixed, did I get a lemon?.
Backup camera quit working. Black screen when using reverse. Exceedingly common issue with these cars. Dangerous to pedestrians, especially children. Fuse is intact. Wiring is intact. No damage to camera.
The back up camera just quit working it's a black screen when you put to reverse.
The rear camera has stops and starts without warning when I put vehicle in reverse. This happens when sitting still.
Rear back-up camera failed on car with less than 28,000 miles. The vehicle is designed with a high rear, so unless the back-up camera is working, there's blind spots when reversing the car. Failure occurred after rare deep freeze/ice/moisture event in late Feb 2021. Wondering if moisture got into camera somehow.
Back up camera stopped working. It only displays orange lines. When trying to adjust the image the screen displays static like lines and also the lights on display screen goes dim. Unable to get camera to work. Own car one year with a little over 17,000 miles at time I purchased. It only has 29,000 miles on it now. Not having back up camera working can cause dangerous situations.
