1 Body problem

Failure Date: 02/02/2026

Everytime I try to turn my wheel it’ll get stiff and the notification will pop up saying “electric power steering system” but then it’ll go back to normal and when I start the car it sounds like it doesn’t want to start at all and like the cords are trying to connect because they start making a ticking sound. I’ve had issues with electrical before to where the airbags and lane assist had to be fixed but the issues seems to keep circling back around. Something going on with the electrical in the car and I have only had it for about a year and a half.

2 Body problem

Failure Date: 03/10/2025

Paint on the center roof of my car has been progressively getting white spots and paint defects. Paint has not been having these issues anywhere else on the cars body, but only has been an issue on the roof. I went to my local Honda dealer to see if there was a recall on my cars specific paint, but no recall was shown. There has been recalls for the same make and model of my car for this issue, but not for my paint code.

3 Body problem

Failure Date: 02/20/2025

The actuator on the drivers door would not allow the door to open. In the case of an accident the inability to exit the vehicle in case the passenger door was damaged or the damage was to the passenger side this would be a safety issue. The dealer repaired the issue by removing the drivers seat thru the passenger door then removing the door panel and replacing the actuator at the cost of $700 and 16 days. The manufacturer has not inspected the vehicle or the actuator. There was no warning before the problem occurred. I have checked the Honda Accord forums and found this problem has been happening since the 1990’s so obviously the manufacturer should be aware.

4 Body problem

Failure Date: 06/17/2024

2018 Honda Accord in still night pearl experiencing paint peeling and rust forming. Similar issue covered under service bulletin 21-087, but my VIN is not covered According to dealership. Vibration in car took it to dealership but still can't figure out what's causing to vibrate so much when driving and idling.

6 Body problem

Failure Date: 11/17/2023

2018 Honda Accord has a poor fitting hood. The issue is not unique to Accords. On Honda pilots around the same year, supposedly a "fix" was issued where some sort of a tape was used to stabilize the hood. At highway speeds, the hood experiences visible deflection/vibration-like movement. Yes, the stop towers and the latch have been checked and adjusted by a qualified body shop, who, essentially, indicated that there is nothing else that can be done.

10 Body problem

Failure Date: 07/15/2022

Paint chipping on both sides of roof edges.

11 Body problem

Failure Date: 03/21/2022

Report is for a potential incident. Should the hood not be fully closed and only be held by the hood release lever at the front of the hood, the vehicle will not notify the driver of the potential danger even though the vehicle utilizes a sensor for the hood. Driving around with the hood not fully closed could result in an accident should the hood lever fail. This is on at least two different Honda models both the Accord and the crv.

12 Body problem

Failure Date: 10/14/2021

Purchased a brand new 2018 Honda Accord I’ve only had it for 3 years and the paint is chipping. I’ve contacted the dealer where purchased and they stated it’s out of the 3 year 36,000 mile warranty and won’t do anything about it. Opened a case with american Honda motor corp and still haven’t heard anything back from the regarding my vehicle paint issue.

13 Body problem

Failure Date: 08/23/2021

Paint peeling. Large half dollar coin sized peeling paint on the hood. Paint is peeling off and the paint is very thin. Normal highway driving will cause paint to chip off to the primer and metal level.

My 2018 Honda Accord the paint is pealing and rusting on the roof on both sides of the roof. I took the car to a body shop recommended by the dealer ship. After car was inspected Honda America told the dealership that they would split the cost of the repair with me. Honda America provided me with a case number I find this unacceptable.

19 Body problem

Failure Date: 11/20/2020

The hood on the 2018 Honda Accord vibrates at highway speeds (not a little, but significantly). Two separate body specialists tried to make adjustment which resulted in slightly better fit, but still, the hood vibrates (again, not a little, but an unsettling amount) at highway speeds. Honda already has a known issue with the pilot model's hood: https://Honda. Oemdtc. Com /711/hood-flutter-or-vibration-at-highway-speeds-2016-2019-Honda-pilot-2017-2019-ridgeline and now, 2018+ owners are starting to complain about the hood stability at higher speeds as well. When I had initially raised the issue with american Honda, they ignored it (and, as they always do, told me to go to the dealer). Since then, Honda has done nothing to truly address the problem. An investigation (and a possible recall) should be initiated.

20 Body problem

Failure Date: 11/11/2020

2018 Honda Accord hybrid touring - loud humming noise while cruising at 52mph. Read google and you'll find many others have similar issues but no known resolve. Have been repeatedly able to reproduce and it can be obnoxious at times but of course Honda denies any knowledge of the issue and claims they are unable to reproduce.

22 Body problem

Failure Date: 11/05/2020

I was slowly pulling into my garage to park. When I pressed on the parking break, the car revved to full speed, slammed into garage and would not respond to the brakes, or any attempt to turn off the ignition or to control the car, including failure of the automatic emergency braking, forward collision or parking collision to function, even though they were all turned on. When "park" was depressed, with the engine still revving at a high speed, the car flew full speed into reverse into the driveway, spun in a circle then flew through the driveway elevated concrete divider, through the neighbors fence and was stopped by a large boulder under the driver's side of the vehicle. The engine was smoking and revving and did not immediately stop. The driver's side air bag had deployed and the door was jammed. I crawled out of the passenger side. The neighbor into whose yard the vehicle went, witnessed the incident. Another neighbor rushed to the car with a fire extinguisher, disconnected electrical wiring and sprayed the engine. The car had gone totally out of control. It took the towing service 2 hours to get the car out of the yard. My insurance company determined the car to be a total loss. Recently, the collision center where the car was eventually taken, completed an analysis of the car's computer and determined there had been multiple computer system failures leading to the car becoming uncontrollable. Fortunately, I was not seriously injured. Had this happened in a busy area, there could have been a much more disastrous result with deaths. The police arrived but did not file a police report as the incident was on private property and there was no one seriously injured.

23 Body problem

Failure Date: 10/29/2020

Early on, after buying the 2018 Honda Accord it became obvious that the hood on the vehicle vibrates at highway speeds. Then unfortunately, the car had been hit by hail storm. The hood had to be replaced (at least, According to the shop that did the work). The replacement was purchased from a Honda dealer and pertained to be oem part. Right away it was obvious that the hood does not fit correctly (without any obvious way to adjust the fit). A second oem hood was ordered with the same lack of tolerances. Following the installation and re-painting of the hood, two separate body specialists tried to make adjustment which resulted in slightly better fit, but still, the hood (just as the original) vibrates (not a little, but an unsettling amount) at highway speeds. Honda already a has a known issue with the pilot model's hood: https://Honda. Oemdtc. Com/711/hood-flutter-or-vibration-at-highway-speeds-2016-2019-Honda-pilot-2017-2019-ridgeline and now, 2018+ owners are starting to complain about the hood stability at higher speeds as well. 24 Body problem

Failure Date: 07/27/2020

I've filed the specific issues in other complaints, but also wanted to input this for a record. After taking the card to the dealer, the dealer did not address any of the following: right door speaker rattle engine squeak (when shutting off) hood vibration did not troubleshoot the smell coming from the ventilation system. Did not apply the fix (if there was one) for the infotainment unit restarting abruptly. Did not look at as to why the display shows 100mph speed limit when there is no such thing in the the state of colorado (that I know of and certainly not where I was driving when this happened). Did not look at why the aux display has issues did not look at bluetooth connectivity issues. Did not look at problems with radar and the cmbs system. Of course, the usual response is "we drove it for an hour (if that) and did not see anything. ".

25 Body problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2020

The seals around the doors, weather stripping is coming lose, seats are falling apart, the radio and navigation screen will go black and reboot itself. The collision control system will get you killed if you're not careful. I was getting onto the highway from a traffic light, had my turn signal on. As I'm merging onto the highway going about 50 mph, the car thinks I've fallen asleep or something. The car forcibly takes me back into the right lane and downshifts the car while braking? scared me to death. I was told it was because I didn't have a turn signal on. Luckily it was 3am or I could've been smashed. Also, the brake light will flash at times, no one is in front of you. Or it flashes like you're about to hit someone but doesn't do anything but flash. Also, if you drive any length, it system will state that the driver has low attention span. Not sure why, it's not like I'm weaving. I think the car needs to feel some movement of the steering or it thinks you're nodding off. The car salesman warned me that the new bells and whistles, technology, could have issues because the tech is new but nothing specific. Try to sell me 3800 in warranty to cover tech. Thought it was strange at the time. Now, I'm thinking that he knew specifics and didn't share.

1. The component/system that failed, malfunctioned, or is defective is unknown. The clinking/rattling noise appears to be coming from the cabin and the right side of the vehicle. Yes, the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. 2. My safety is put at risk each time I drive the vehicle. The noise sounds like a loose component or system; consumer does not feel comfortable driving the vehicle on the highway. 3. Yes, the problem has been reproduced and confirmed by a dealer; a Honda service manager test-drove the vehicle on 8/9/2021 and compared the noise to same/like model; both showed the same noises. 4. No, the vehicle or component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, even though the consumer made a request for the manufacturer (american Honda) to do so. 5. On August the 7 I washed my Honda Accord. I noticed that the clear coat is coming off. I made an appointment with the Honda dealership that I bought the car from. I took it on August the 8. They took pics of the car and told me they would contact there sales rep about this. I contacted them om Monday August the 12 about the matter. They contacted me back that evening and told me it was an environmental issue. Like rain stuff from the roads and tree sap that I need to contact my insurance company about this. 33 Body problem

Failure Date: 05/15/2019

The external paint of our vehicle is thin and fragile, it chips and scratches quite easily even if contacted by plastic such as a child seat or camera lense cover, never mind what an inconsiderate parking neighbor, shopping cart or road debris do to it. I have contacted the owner of the dealership; who offered to fix the paint, then revoked his offer. And american Honda motor CO. , inc. Who opened a case and then closed it, ignoring my responses to their communications. Attached are copies of my communications.
