I started driving this vehicle and all of a sudden it started slowing down, and would not go up to speed. I had it fixed, the car started skipping, making a jerking movement while driving. I made an appointment with tameron Honda of birmingham on 3/26/26. As soon as I pulled up to Honda dealership the engine light was on. The company was trying to bill me 6100 dollars for fixing the car. I do not have that amount on hand and I need my car. I had to drive my car away from the dealership while it was in idle mode state into traffic the car moved so slowly that I could have wrecked. The dealership did not do their due diligence by going off of the VIN number and making sure that the customer is safe with their brand. I was told that they did a full inspection at the dealership. I have been scared to drive this vehicle since the issue keeps happening.
After recent service from local Honda dealership vehicle started to drive sluggish. Had all fluids changed and the coolant flushed when serviced at the dealership. The vehicle now displays several different alerts upon start up "emissions systems failure" brake system failure" hill assist failure" power steering failure". Vehicle was returned to dealership and it was determined the head gaskets need to be replaced due to coolant leaking. This vehicle has been maintained consistently with documentation and shouldn't have this type of failure with only 100k miles. Repairs are $4800 and this should definitely be investigated because this is common in Honda Accord model years 2018-2022.
Over the past several years, there have been multiple instances where I or my wife are driving on the highway and the engine light comes on or starts flashing, and I am unable to go faster than 50 miles an hour, and the engine itself feels to be underpowered. We have taken it to the dealership for repair at least five times over the past five years and in each case they have attempted to do a repair and said the issue has been resolved, but the issue continue. At at least one of those visits, they have diagnosed the issue as an engine misfire issue. The issue has intensified from the initial symptoms, (which were as I described, but resolved by turning the car off, waiting 30 seconds to a minute and then turning the car on again) to how it is now: in addition to the check engine light, every other light and warning system has gone off when driving on the highway and the engine was unable to go faster than 40 miles an hour, and it does not resolve by restarting the car. The dealership and Honda America’s main phone line have as of yet been unable to give me a clear answer as to why this is happening or whether it can be fixed. A sudden drop in speed and power on the highway as we have experienced many times over the last five years is inherently extremely dangerous.
There are many warming lamps on in the car. My car won't pick up speed it in limp mode once I crank up. I have to turn it off and restart any order for it to go and pick up speed. My number 3 plug keep showing something wrong it has been replaced multiple times but still having the same issue. I had it checked out it's saying the same problem fuel. I have had my fuel pump change and still having problems. 2018 are bad models for Honda and there should be multiple recalls because everyone having the same problems. Head gaskets, fuel injection, turbo problems as well as fuel pump.
Sacramento CA , car stopped in the middle of the highway couldn’t accelerate, won’t let me advance past 20 mph gas fuel was changed earlier in 2025 but I’m sure it’s the fuel injectors.
My fiance has a 2018 Honda Accord sport touring, this past Sunday he was giving me a ride and about 5 min of driving , after stopping for a red light , the light turned green he pushed the pedal and the car starting moving then all of a sudden warning lights were flashing , the engine light , remote not in car, oil light, air bag , low tire, etc. There was alot at the same time when the warning lights came on as he pushed the gas pedal the car stopped accelerating, and he said he had no power in the pedal ,there was heavy traffic, a car could of rear ended us but he was able to put his hazards on and coast around the corner before the car stopped. He shut the car off and back on and it drove like normal again. I was scared of course and just wanted to go home. When we got home he remembered he still had his fathers obd scanner tool so he plugged it in the car and it showed no error codes. So that was really strange. He went to the store down the street the next day, but other then that he drives his work van and I have my own car. I was reading newsbreak and seen that Honda recalled only hybrid and newer years and thought thats odd I should let someone know this happen to his 2018 Accord , because im sure it has to happen to others. We didnt take it in or call the police , but this clearly could of caused a crash had he not remained calm and put his flashers, everything happened so fast. Im sure he would let you inspect it, he works during the morning. I have no clue why it did that and neither does he. Thank you for your time.
On 11/3/25 Honda conducted the fuel injection recall fix. Prior to this, no warning lights were displayed on dash. 11/11/25 nine different warnings displayed on dashboard board. 11/13/25 at approximately 35mph the vehicle would not accelerate and the 9 warning notifications continued to flash. Cars had to go around me as I tried to find a safe place to pull to side of the road. I turned off the ignition. I took the vehivle back to the Honda dealership maintenance. My vehicle will be there till tomorrow. I was informed code p0304 was present. Prior to recall fix drivability was not a concern and and had no warning lights.
The head gasket leaked and a piston warped. The symptom was feeling a piston misfire and then the car wouldn't go over 10 miles per hour. Our safety was compromised because we were on a busy (45mph) road and couldn't turn off quickly nor go fast to keep up with traffic. The problem has been reproduced at an independent service center. The vehicle has only been inspected by the mechanic. The previous week all the electrical systems reported a failure. That was repaired by replacing some hose that collapsed on itself. During the misfire, the check engine light flashed, but it didn't before or after (when we were driving very slowly).
My vehicle is losing power while traveling on the road. All of the system lights are flashing and the gas mileage is ridiculous. It sputters uncontrollably and just stalls out and drops speed really quick. I’m really concerned for my well being. I’ve spent so much money trying to fix these issues and I don’t think it’s fair to me or any other Honda owner to have to be held responsible for something that is clearly a manufacturing issue. Although there was not a crash during this incident, it’s very dangerous and I’m terrified to drive my car but I have no other transportation right now.
I was slowing down to pull into a parking spot at my office and suddenly the car accelerated, jumped the concrete barrier and crashed into the brick wall. The car continued to actively crash into the wall, so I put it in reverse and it accelerated backward with such force that it crashed into the rear of the car on the other side of the parking lot and then spun around 180 degrees and crashed into the side of that same car. My car was terrifyingly out of control. There was a woman in another car who had just parked and luckily she remained in her car because if she'd gotten out my car could have hit her. I don't know if this is related, but I regularly used the brake hold function and pressed the button to turn it off as I was parking. My perception is that the car suddenly accelerated when I depressed the brake hold button to turn it off. I have the parking lot security camera footage that clearly shows I was braking when the car suddenly accelerated and went out of control. I had 3 hard collisions and the airbag didn't deploy. Luckily I only had some neck and back pain and wasn't seriously injured. My car and the other car were totaled. I'm incredibly disappointed that Honda didn't call me back in time to be able to inspect the car. The insurance company pressured me to settle and turn over title. I'm very angry that the insurance company says I'm at fault because I need to stay in control of my vehicle at all times, but how could I have done that when the car suddenly went out of control? now I'm going to have to pay higher insurance rates for something that I couldn't control.
Upon commuting to work, the car failed to accelerate causing the car to almost suddenly stop while driving; at the same time of the failure warning lights and beeping occurred. No warnings prior to failure. By god’s grace, I was not yet on the expressway and avoided what would have been a horrible accident jeopardizing not only my life but the lives of anyone that would have been behind me. The gasket failed (cylinder #3) and is available for inspection upon request. It was a significant safety issue as the failure occurred without warning causing the car to stop no warning. Yes, the dealer has confirmed the failure and I was quoted a $5800 repair cost in spite of a owning a lifetime power train warranty. No, the vehicle or component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance. I did place a call to american Honda and we were given a case #15822812 (but this case has since been closed without action. ) no warnings occurred before the failure. (beeping and messages occurred at the time of failure. ) had the failure occurred at a high rate of speed, on an expressway, loss of life could have occurred and no one would know what caused the accident since cars are usually towed away and declared “totaled. ” fortunately, I was on a road of 35mph but in just a few more minutes would have been at a speed of 65mph. There is a further safety concern that the dealer admits that there is a known problem with the oem component but plans to continue to replace with the same product. Note: this car has a superior care record and only 110,000 miles which means the failure is likely to occur again with the same parts. Internet searches are confirming this is a known product failure with no recall.
This car came with problem and I want to this if Honda can fix it for free since its they mistake.
I never was informed about the fuel pump recall , all the lights on my car came on , acceleration was slower , car was jerking , and when taking it to Honda they stated 2 of my cylinders has a misfire and water or coolant leaked and blew my head gasket , the car never ran hot and the guy asked did any light come on and I told him for some old reason every light on the dash was on and the car is vibrating while even in park reverse and when it's moving . I've read up on this and there are numerous of people with this same issue and this should mean something , Honda stated it would cost 6000 to fix when they should have already been warning people of the matter ahead of time . For some odd reason the car would just drive 10mph when I am driving jumping out in traffic having to pull over and restart the car . Guy at Honda even stated fuel pump could have been the issue and they have witness this with other cars like mine.
Unknown.
All lights on head dash are on , all components are not working properly or effected because of this. (engine light brake light abs light tire light traction control light , sensors out all) while driving vechile reduces power does not operate randomly , have to pull over shut the car off and turn it back on. Has high vibrations lot of shaking, stauling. I have had it looked at with multiple shops and dealer . Everybody is playing a guessing game and can not pin point what exactly it is . Was told it was spark plugs and coils, alternator , fuel injectors. All have been repaired, and still have all lights on dash and still facing every problem listed after repairs. Been inspected by manufacturer. Say not been resolved was told if it wasn’t what was already fixed they don’t know and that this is very common right now . It first started about a month ago.
The 1000 miles or so, when trying to increase speed, would feel the gears slip between revolutions. I would let up on the gas pedal then slowly resume pressure, which sometimes worked or sometimes didnt. On April 19th while going up a hill on a side road, the car stalled and transmission warning light came on. I pulled over and shut the car off and restarted was able to slowly continue up hill at 15 miles per hour with the slipping becoming worse ( this is when I first called Honda to bring it in on Monday April 21. ) I was able to arrive to work. After leaving work I pulled out of the parking lot and the car just stalled with all lights and warnings going off from engine to airbag warnings to tire pressure lights going off and dinging. This is when I called a tow truck to tow to the curtiss ryan dealership. After talking to them at dealer they told me that other Accords have had this problem.
This vehicle was built terrible. It had a blown head gasket at 86,000 miles. The head was warped. My valve guides and seals were compromised and leaking into the combustion chamber. I need a full head resurfacing job with new gaskets all around. New injectors and new valve cover gasket and everything around. This car has a design flaw and needs to be recalled for mediocre heads life. It almost caused me to get crashed from the back from a semi truck because the car decided to lose complete power while on the road. The cars recalls have been addressed but this whole issue with the faulty heads needs to be addressed. My vehicle is in the shop now and I will have to pay a little over $4,000 now. It's a hazard on the road when you get near to 90,000 miles.
2/24/2025 safety recall work performed at Honda marin; change fuel pump per recall. 4/28/2025 I reported vehicle stalling/misfiring, decelerating on its own and all lights keep coming on as a result of fuel pump change. Marin Honda performed cleaning of battery cables; technician claims nothing is wrong with the car. 5/28/2025 car stalled at intersection, I went back to Honda marin and reported vehicle is still having the same previous issues and complained that this is dangerous to have the car automatically decelerated on its own. This time I requested only for a diagnostic from Honda marin. They spoke to my mom, who was not authorized to approve any work on my car, stated no blown head gaskets but mis-firing on cylinder 3, fixed the issue, passed pressure test(s), no leaks; and car was up to factory specks costs $2812. 77 charged to my mom. 6/03/2025 brought car back to Honda marin, same issues; service dept. Road tested for 4 miles and stated the car was working as normal. 6/11/2025 told Honda marin that the car is stalling and misfiring again; car shut down while on freeway; Honda marin claimed problem was a punctured hose, charged $10. 34 car up to factory specks. 6/12/2025 brought car back to Honda marin; still misfiring, stalling and dash lights coming on. Car will not accelerate past 3000rpm. ; car shut down while in far left land on the 580 richmond-san rafael going to marin county. Honda marin performed leaked down test failed cylinder #4; blown head gasket; verbal quote approximately $5500. 00 to fix. In addition to engine failures I had battery issues as well. Per reddit threads others too are having very similar issues, once the fuel pump is replaced, unexpected additional costs and safety failures often occur. This is a Honda manufacturing defect, the orginal fuel pumps are defective, causing a direct impact on the performance of the engine, unexpected damages which is leading to major finanical and safety costs to the consumer.
Randomly, my car will start throwing many warning signs when I crank my car. Then it magically disappears after 2 days. Also I drive my car past 40mph and the engine light came on and then I could no longer accelerate. My car was slowing down while I was on the freeway. I pulled over, turned my car off then back on. Everything is back to normal. Next day, I crank my car, warning signs again and then disappears. I took my car to the auto shop and they could not find any codes. I have videos and pictures. There’s also a Honda facebook group with my same model car reporting the same behavior.
I took my Accord into snellville GA Honda dealer for fuel pump recall and the day I received it from the service department, it started to sputtter and engine shutdown. I took back 3 times and got a different answer each time. I believe the turbo charger may have been affected from the fuel pump being bad. The latest diagnostic says it has turbo under boost issue.
Everyday the vehicles struggles to pick up on speed and stalls out. I am often holding up traffic because I’m driving to slow. I have to very very very slowly accelerate so that the car doesn’t stall. When the trying to accelerate it often skips and jerks while driving. I often wonder if this will affect me while driving on the interstate. I fear that a bad accident is on the horizon with these issues. Could you please help. I’ve tried multiple times since last December to get the car fixed and Honda refuses to fix my vehicle even though I received a letter in the mail saying more repair parts are available.
I’ve been trying to get my part replaced since August and I’ve been hundreds of dollars in between that time till now wasting money! and I’ve been told by 3 different dealerships that because I wasn’t experiencing what they considered major issues that they decided to not see me for the recall based off the information provided. I spoke with someone yesterday that I spoke to weeks ago about the same thing, and was told they didn’t have the part then when I asked to speak to a manager, he put me on hold and told me the part was in. I haven’t been able to drive my car since last Friday. It’s a huge inconvenience, as getting this part replaced would eliminate that issue I had to beg and threaten ppl jobs to get it replaced! but the amount of money I’ve wasted and fallen behind on my bills is crazy!!!!!! Honda should be cutting me check for the money loss as result so I can pay on things I had to wait on. . Or create arrangements for along with having to ask my family for help because of the money I’ve been wasting the last two months.
The problem first started on 8-8-24 when I cranked up my car & the dashboard lit up with all of these different sensors. I called leith Honda dealership in aberdeen, due to that is where I take my car to be serviced at, my customer service rep (brian) stated to wait to see if they would stay on, because of that type of car will reset itself. So later on, that day they did, go away after driving it a while. Then a sensor popped up on 8-10-24 & stayed on for just a day, then came back off again. I called again & he stated to wait again so that the car can be diagnosed, but it had cut off again. So, a few days had gone by & in the middle of driving on the highway while going 60 mph, all of the same sensors came back on & the car would not go over 40 mph due to one of the main sensors stating "emission system problem. Avoid heavy acceleration & high speed. See your dealer. " along with my 21month old baby in the car! dangerous! my job (travel cna) requires me to travel from facility to facility & I need my car to be reliable. The rep said it really sounds like the recall part that is going bad in my car needs to be replaced & until it stays on sticks; there is nothing that can be done. I beg to defer! is it going to take for me to get into a car accident & jeopardize my daughter & I safety in order for the part to be replaced, after what the recall notification states that can be done while operating the vehicle. Along with the recall stating that they are only willing to replace the part for free if the car is potentially life threating or inoperable. The fact that they are taking their time replacing these parts is dangerous or mindful at all. I love my car, but I am not willing to put my daughter's life, or mine nor anyone else's life in danger by continuing driving this car and still having to pay for it. I deserve for this part & anything else that is affected, due to the part needing to be replaced. Thank you for resolving the issue.
Engine stalled out in the middle of the road immediately after acceleration following a sudden braking event. A car had pulled out in front of my vehicle at an intersection requiring a sudden brake. After the car had passed, a quick acceleration was needed as a car was quickly approaching from behind. It was at this point the engine stalled and the vehicle would not move forward. Pushing the gas pedal would not move the vehicle forward, and the engine was making a noise as the pedal was pushed. The vehicle had to be placed into park, turned off and back on, to get the engine to function and the vehicle to drive again. During this time (at least 1-2 minutes) the vehicle was stalled in the middle of an active highway, representing a significant safety risk. The vehicle was then sent to Honda for a diagnostic and there were no diagnostic codes given and the service center could not replicate the event. Was told this was not related to the active fuel pump recall on this vehicle so "there was nothing they could do" had to pay out of pocket for the diagnostic. No resolution on this safety issue. More investigation is needed into these vehicles!!.
I was driving in the rain like I have done before with no issues but on 7/7/2024 I was driving home in the rain and my car just started steering on its own and I wasn’t able to control my car and it started turning my car to the point it hit a guard rail on the highway and turn my car near the other side of the highway in the grass. My airbags d.
Every light on my dashboard is on I done took it to Honda an had the lights turned off server times still on.
When the vehicle in front of me slows down significantly, my Accord will flash the automatic brake warning and come to a complete stop. Once stopped the vehicle does not accelerate for a few moments. Several times I’ve pressed the acceleration pedal to the floor with no acceleration, the vehicle in front of me long all while watching cars swerve behind me to not rear end me. The several times this has happened the vehicle has left me completely stopped in heavy traffic, the middle of an intersection, or lastly an empty road as the vehicle stopped for a median….
My car is always hesitating to go , sometimes it will slow considerably down and won’t go , and my engine lights pops on and starts flashing. I have to turn my car off and turn it back on. That’s very dangerous ive almost been hit like that and I have two kids!!!!!.
When driving at highway speeds the auto has started to brake and the warning brake alert flashes on the dashboard when there are no obstructions. On some occasions the brake warning light comes on even when there are no cars or traffic in front of the auto. Recently the cruise control turned off for no apparent reason.
The vehicle is stalling while driving to a point where on the freeway it slows down to 10 miles per hour to all of the sudden have all the emergency lights on that come to a sudden stop. I have called 3 different Honda dealers, they said that they need to check what is wrong with the car first making it clear that there is a fee of $220. My daughter has been driving the vehicle in very unsafe conditions. On Friday may 24th we were on our way to oakland from the ventura county (I was the passenger) and in less than an hour driving the car started stalling to come to a sudden stop on the freeway. I took the vehicle to the ocean Honda dealership the following week driving forcefully the car at 20-30 miles because we could not afford another trip on the towing truck. The service person drove the car from the parking lot to the front of the service office (less than 50 ft) and the lady said the car was in perfect condition and not one emergency light was on! I shared with them images of all the emergency lights were on in the vehicle and as well as at least 4 codes. We left the car and then they called me to notify that there was an issue with the injectors and that the vehicle was still under warranty for those parts because it is under 70,000 miles. The next day the vehicle was given back to me. I asked about the replacement of the gas pump, and they said because the vehicle is not having any issues it cannot be replaced. That night the car stopped on the freeway, I took it back and now they said it was the spark plugs. I decided to take the vehicle to a different dealership. Now at dch Honda today the injectors were replaced and the car still stalling and stopping. They recommend replacing the spark plugs ($350 they will charge) and I told them I will take it to my mechanic. They said, "but you know the car is not fixed even if they replace them". I said you are telling me this safety issue is that so what is it? nobody willing to change the gas pump!.

I purchased my vehicle from lithia, inc. D/b/a wilde Honda in waukesha, wisconsin new. Wilde Honda serviced the vehicle on September 8, 2023, after I reported that all lights in the vehicle were coming on. In addition, I experienced an incident on the highway where my car failed to accelerate, putting me in extreme danger. On September 26, 2023, after my vehicle was returned to me, I experienced substantially similar issues immediately, with the same problems accelerating, all of the dash lights coming on, and a rumbling and jittering sound when the vehicle was first started. Wild Honda charged me $4,956. 36 for repairs, which did not resolve any issues. I wrote to alex reed of wilde Honda regarding these issues. Mr. Reed assured me that the underlying problem was resolved by replacing a fuel injector, and I was charged and additional $350. 00. On October 25, 2023, I again experienced the same dangerous issue where all the lights came on. Once again, I found myself on the highway, unable to accelerate and faced with a dangerous situation. I have made repeated demands to lithia to reimburse me for the repairs charged to me, as well as for the fair market value of my vehicle as it can no longer be operated safely. Lithia d/b/a wilde Honda has made no efforts to resolve this situation and disclaims all responsibility. After researching this issue, I discovered that in October 2018, american Honda notified dealerships that vehicles equipped with a 1 1. 5l turbo direct-injection engine “may experience engine oil dilution” and that this “may result in increased oil level and can cause a [cylinder] misfire” and cause a variety of symptoms including a check light indicator due to an engine misfire, a low oil pressure light, and abnormal engine noises. In fact, american Honda reached out and requested that dealerships contact them if the dealerships came across similar issues that plagued my vehicle as american Honda was trying to determine the underlying issue.
