1 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 03/03/2026

I owned a 2018 Honda Accord,I got it new from the dealership so im the only owner of this vehicle. My headlights keep building condensations prematurely causing them to fail . I have already replaced multple headlights because of this . Also when the bulbs go out Honda made it where the bulbs can not be replaced at all. These headlights cost close to $1000 each plus 500 in labor to installed. Theres should be a recall for this as its costing me soo much money . I hoping we must hold accountability to its highest level so consumer dont have suffer like this. Thank you so much for reading!.

The sunroof spontaneously exploded while traveling at 50mph. Was not a rock. The sound was extremely distracting and could easily cause a wreck, especially if the sunroof visor was open. Could also cause bodily harm.

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 133,000.

4 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 06/15/2024

I was driving on [xxx] when my sunroof glass exploded. I was not around any other cars when this incident happened. Thankfully I had my sunroof visor closed. Had it not been for that; glass would have poured all over me and possibly caused me to have a bad wreck or worse; lose my life. I filed a claim that same day with my insurance company, only to get the run around and be told that they possibly won’t cover it due to they deeming it a mechanical failure. I was not operating the sunroof at all at the time of the incident so there was no mechanical failure. I had full insurance coverage at the time of the incident. I have sent in pictures and a full description to my insurance adjuster. The car itself has not been inspected by anyone other than myself. I would like this matter resolved immediately. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

5 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 05/29/2024

I contacted a Nissan dealer regarding a repair matter concerning a safety recall for the fuel pump module. It seems that the vehicle is encountering stalling issues, which could potentially increase the likelihood of accidents or injuries, potentially resulting in fatalities. I was informed that Honda does not currently have the necessary part and regrettably, they are unable to schedule the repair until August. There were no indications or alerts before the failure occurred. This is my primary mode of transportation.

6 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 05/25/2022

Window cracked on lower left side. Car parked in garage. Came back from work to find 12 inch crack in windshield that did not exist when I parked the car. No signs of impact. Appears to be stress crack without any cause other than a design flaw with the car. Lots of other reports of similar incidents with this model online.

7 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 02/14/2022

Approximately 4 days ago came out to my car (in the garage) to discover a large stress crack in my windshield starting at the very edge of the lower right portion into the drivers view. No rock damage was visible the windshield nor was there any kind of accident. Took it to my Honda dealership, and got a shrug in response. They wanted insurance to cover it. I was told that this problem is quite common with the 2018 2. 0 t models, but nothing has been done.

8 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 05/23/2021

Parts of windshield, rear window and side windows have distortion. I would describe it as though one hasn't turned on the windshield wipers during a pretty heavy mist (not a downpour).

9 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 04/23/2021

Windshield is incredibly fragile. Has cracked and gotten chipped under minimal driving. There is a prohibitively high cost to replace because of driver assistance camera attached directly to windshield.

10 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 08/27/2020

The cmbs, speed follow are not working when you drive 40miles in the freeway and it say always see your dealer and the seatbelt are very stiff.

11 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 02/18/2020

2018 Honda Accord. Sat in driveway overnight, normal weather, rear window fine at 7pm and at 7am it was shattered. No visible reason as to why it would have shattered. Window had tint on it so window stayed intact. Edges all around were breaking away.

12 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 01/22/2020

Tl-the contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. While entering vehicle the contact stated that the windshield cracked at the trim line into the window. Viewing area without warning or impact. 13 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 10/09/2019

While parked safely in my garage my windshield suffered a stress fracture. It starts at the passenger side frame and stretches 13 inches out across the windshield. I took it to the dealer who informed me that the car would be covered under warranty when I called. I later found out after waiting two hours there that it would not be covered. This is an on going issue with Accord windshields and should be recalled. There are numerous complaints here and on other sites of stress fractures without any kind of rock damage to the windshield. This needs to be reviewed and covered.

14 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 08/06/2019

Windshield chips started from almost day one of purchase. The smallest of road debris have caused multiples of glass chips to accumulate across the windshield over time. The first surface of the glass is very "brittle" and easy to chip with the lightest of contact. Chips form easily at low speeds. As compared to other vehicles I have driven, an unusually loud "snapping/cracking" sound occurs upon any windshield contact including bugs and rain. Chips occur in irregular "clusters" upon impact. I have never experienced this on other vehicles. I have tried to ignore the peripheral chips but now they are starting to form in my field of view. Very dissatisfying and disappointing.

15 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 08/05/2019

Tl the contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. While driving 70 mph with the windshield wipers activated, the wiper speed was very low at all settings. As a result, the contact could not see the road when driving in the rain. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 7,000.

16 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 04/30/2019

On entering a touchless carwash, windshield loudly cracked. There was a minor stone chip near the start of the two cracks that appeared, but it did not penetrate the first panel of glass. Two cracks were approximately 18 inches long.

17 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 04/02/2019

Had the car about 6 months, and have half a dozen small rock chips in the glass. Had safelite come out to repair and they said they are getting a ton of these new Accords in for repair and replacement but my chips were too small to repair. Guess I have to wait for them to crack and spread and get a whole new $1,000 windshield. This glass seems way too prone to chips and cracking. Other owners are complaining about their windshield cracking with no signs of visible damage.

18 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 03/03/2019

I got my first crack on my windshield 2 weeks after buying it. Never heard the rock hit it . It was a very teeny tiny nick and turned into a long crack across my windshield. The second crack was today. A rock came from a semi truck traveling in the lane next to me as I was passing on the left side lane. Immediately after the rock hit. The windshield cracked. I have a line splitting across my passenger side and now another along the driver side. It seems the glass is made very poorly. The windshield cracks easily. I have owned a ton of vehicles. Rocks hit the windshield from time to time and never caused a crack across my windshield. A nick maybe yes, but not an instant crack that will not stop.

19 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 12/20/2018

My car has cracks in the windshield located outside of the vehicle from both sides on the wiper blades trails. It has not been hit by a rock. I noticed it on two different occasions when I was using the wipers on rainy days. I was told by the glass repair shops that it was caused due to the heated wipers while it was cold outside. The vehicle was in motion and while driving in the rain to work the cracks appeared to travel longer on the windshield.

20 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 12/13/2018

My windshield developed a stress crack on the lower mid driver side that started at the pillar and spread to the center. Took to three different shops and all stated it was a stress crack. Other Accords of the same year are having the exact same issue.

21 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 11/05/2018

Tl the contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the backup and brake sensor alerts failed to function and the headlights failed to illuminate brightly while driving at night. The vehicle was taken to moss bros Honda (located at 27990 eucalyptus Ave, moreno valley, CA 92555, (951) 486-9366) where it was diagnosed that the rearview mirror and bumper sensors failed and needed sensors. The dealer did not diagnose the headlight failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact received a notice for NHTSA campaign number: 18v629000 (back over prevention, visibility). The manufacturer was notified of the failures and did not assist. The approximate failure mileage was 3,488.

22 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 11/03/2018

I got the recall letter regarding safety recall for reprogramming of rearview image for free. I went to tenafly Honda dealer in NJ with a scheduled appointment. They told me that I had to see the manager before recall check up. For 20 minutes later, he said my car is not for the recall. There as re several customers are the same situations like me. He printed out that there is no recall. I highly suspicious that. I have a recall letter but they are saying that my car is not recall. When I come to see NHTSA website to check my vinyl number, it shows 0 but shows 11. 3. 2018 updated information. Please investigate this if they just updated the system without really checking the car at all. What did they update the system while refusing my recall service? I saw others had the same situation. They turned the people away from recall service while they are saying there is no recall. I am not sure about this. I hope they don't fraud on people' recalls on cars. This is related to the person's life and safely. My car is fine but I want to make sure on my recall status. Dealer never checked my car at all regarding recall.

23 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 10/09/2018

Heavy rain started to fall while traveling 70 mph on a highway. Windshield wipers not moving fast enough causing me to become blinded and no ability to see while huge trucks soon pass straight me causing more water to land on the windshield.

24 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 09/09/2018

Faulty backup camera. While backing up hit a car and Honda is not taking any responsability.

25 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 08/19/2018

Windshield wipers wouldn't work while driving in rain on highway. Pulled over, went to service station, they had me turn car off and checked some fuses. Then warning lights came on about the vehicle stability control, braking and various safety features. This morning when I started car and backed out of driveway the wipers started working but the warning lights are still on. Took it to dealer this morning.

26 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 05/24/2018

I don't know if my previous report went through, so this is a second attempt! within a week of getting the brand new vehicle we noticed a severe windshield problem! when we turned into the setting sun, the passengers side of the windshield looked like shattered glass! it severely hampered vision to that side. When we turned the other direction, it looked normal! it happened again, under the same conditions. We brought it to the dealership today. The head of the service department said he had never seen anything like it in 30 + years! he could see the problem with a flashlight! he said we need a new windshield, that the original one is defective . I will enclose photos.
