1 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 02/17/2026

City street driving speed < 35-40 mph, engine began rough idling at stop light after traveling just 1/8 mile. After driving less than 1 mile on level ground, engine slowed and would not accelerate above 20 mph. After another mile or so, increasing uphill grade caused speed to slow to 12-14 mph. Stepping on gas caused car to slow down even more, with shaking and jerky stop-start of vehicle. Maintaining 10-12 mph permitted vehicle to continue uphill climb for a few more miles so I could reach home. Downhill coasting was smooth with no gas pedal acceleration. Overnight parked in garage, and no problems driving vehicle to local independent auto mechanic. They were able to duplicate problem after 2 days and multiple test drives. Diagnosed permanent and temporary engine codes: misfires of cylinders 1 and 4 with ignition coil malfunction, misfires of cylinders 1, 2, 4, and random misfires. Also permanent codes: antilock brake ecm failure, electric power steering vehicle stability assist system malfunction, electric servo brake electric power train system malfunction. Mechanic removed coils and spark plugs, found cylinder 4 has moisture. Coils, plugs cleaned and re-installed. Honda dealer unable to duplicate problem after 3 days.

2 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/30/2025

This needs to be addressed. Everyone knows now that there is a high incidence of head gasket failure with Honda. The Honda head gasket class action lawsuit includes the following vehicles if equipped with 1. 5-liter or 2. 0-liter I-vtec turbocharged gasoline direct injection engines: 2018-2022 Honda Accord 2016-2022 Honda civic 2017-2022 Honda cr-v 2021-2022 Acura rdx 2019-2022 Acura tlx I got an "approximate cost" for a head gasket repair on a 2019 Honda Accord, of $3000 from the Honda dealer after previously getting a $3559 from an independent. The dealer just came back to me with an estimate of $5781. 32. I check reliability ratings before ever buying a car. It's a Honda! if they are not willing to do the right thing, maybe they should be made to? this needs to be a recall. Do you even know how many americans have been affected by this? including those that haven't complained or reported it?.

3 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 09/27/2025

I bought this car and after only owning it for eight months, as I was driving down the freeway, every light on my dashboard lit up, and my car slowed down. I was able to pull to the side of the road, but I could no longer drive my car home and I was commuting. Since the first incident, I have repaired my car having the coil repaired spark plugs, and regular maintenance in the last eight months that I have owned the car and now my turbo charger needs to be replaced. I took it into two different mechanic shops. My car is only at 130k miles this should not be causing an issue with a Honda now I cannot find anyone to repair it without costing me $2000 plus.

4 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 09/27/2025

After the vehicle misfiring , kept changing spark plugs and coil , as well the vehicle shutting over while driving on the highway , having to get it towed and then finally able to get to dealership , Honda said the head gasket failed , so after the head gasket replacement and getting it fixed for $5k, it started to make a noise rattling , took it back to dealership and they said it was the turbo when I took it back to dealership , they said it was failing , it was not making a noise until after head gasket replacement . The dealer said the turbo messing up wasnt from head gasket replacement , but I’m very aware it’s possible and there was absolutely no noise before replacement of head gasket !.

5 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 09/11/2025

My son was driving home from work when car suddenly went into limp mode with check engine light and all other safety light came on the dash. Driving around 50mph and my son nearly collided with multiple cars as the became hard to steer and brakes unreliable. Luckily no one was hurt this time. Car has 83k miles. Was taken to the dealer and diagnostics run and provided with a $5000. Repair to replace the head gasket due to coolant leaking into cylinder #3 causing misfires. I have reached out to Honda of America with the issue.

6 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 08/06/2025

While driving ~40 mph call all of a sudden lost power in middle of busy street, was not able to steer or drive (pedals weren't working to provide power). I pulled off to side and saw check engine light blinking and warning message pop up about brake system not working. I turned the car off then turned it back on and worked normally and was able to drive home.

7 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 05/09/2025

Emission system control error please see your dealer do not accelerate at high speeds, acc control, module error, brake system failure, error, lane control, assistance, failure, numerous lights illuminate on dashboard 7 to 10 error codes all at once. Vehicle was taken to diagnosed and found turbo charger for engine acceleration was faulty, spark plugs changed, 4 coils and cam shift sensors2 total. Over $3000 later, the vehicle is still doing the same mention above, including when stopped and acceleration at slow or high speeds vehicle jerks. Only 158,000 miles on a 2019 all fluids have been serviced and changed on time with no leaks.

8 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 04/25/2025

All the lights came on on the car, took it to get looked at they stated it was the turbocharger I spent $2500 to get it replaced and yet all the lights are still on-automatic headlights don’t work and the infotainment system keeps cutting out-like glitching. According to the Honda representative at the dealership, this year model has had alot of issues and several cars in the last month alone have replaced turbochargers and had to come back and get an entire motor! this is highway robbery if the cars themselves weren’t put together correctly from the manufacturer. This needs to be looked into as I’m having to shell out thousands of dollars for a defective car. My [xxx] drives this vehicle and I don’t know what to do as the dealership charges $190 for every diagnostic test and to not have an answer is frustrating. All I’m hearing is several cars this year are horribly made. This needs to be investigated and resolved. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6.

9 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 03/18/2025

I was driving on the freeway and my engine lost power and all the lights on my dashboard went haywire. I tried to get off the freeway but with the loss of power made it extremely difficult and dangerous. I thought I was going to get into an accident since my car slowed down so abruptly. I had to limp my way across traffic which was very scary. The car was jerking and shaking. I finally got to the side of the freeway and the car did not want to continue so I called for a tow truck and waited on the side of a busy highway. The tow truck brought my car to the Honda dealership which diagnosed the problem immediately as a blown head gasket. They said it was a known problem and the mechanic knew what to look for. They fixed the head gasket and I have my car back. My car only has 92k miles and I don’t think the head gasket should fail this early in the vehicles life. I properly maintain my engine with routine oil changes. There is no reason the engine should break down like this. I feel that there is a defect in Honda’s head gasket.

10 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 03/11/2025

While driving my 2019 Honda Accord at approximately 65 mph on the highway, the car suddenly lost power, went into limp mode, and the steering wheel locked up. I was unable to turn or control the vehicle, which resulted in another car crashing into me. I sustained injuries in the accident and required medical attention. The incident was extremely dangerous and could have been fatal. After being towed to russell & smith Honda, they confirmed a blown head gasket was the cause of the failure. This issue is already the subject of a class-action lawsuit due to known design flaws in the 1. 5t engine. Honda only offered partial assistance, leaving me responsible for thousands in repair costs. This vehicle is unsafe and needs to be investigated immediately.

11 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 03/03/2025

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended, and the vehicle lost automotive power. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact restarted the vehicle as a temporary repair however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer to be diagnosed and the contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was previously repaired for a head gasket failure; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 196,000.

12 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 02/11/2025

I’ve had 2 readings one from Honda and one from a different mechanic shop. One reads bad fuel injectors from the mechanic shop and the other from the Honda dealership reads bad turbo. All lights on my dash board. I didn’t have any lights on before my fuel pump was replaced due to that recall and now my dash board looks like christmas lights.

13 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 01/08/2025

I am reporting a failed recall remedy. Honda was unable to provide parts for recall 23v-858 for over a year. Operating the vehicle during this delay resulted in engine starvation, overheating, and a catastrophic cylinder head gasket failure. The dealer and manufacturer are now refusing to cover the consequential damage caused by their own delay.

14 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 11/29/2024

Mid October 2023, we driving on the freeway and the car started to slow down on its own. We could not accelerate to match the speed of cars around us or to get the speed limits in a 55 to 65 zone, making it dangerous for us and others to continue driving on the freeway at extremely slow/low speeds. We towed it the dealership, who said it was defective spark plugs. This car was only 4 years old with extremely low millage and the spark plugs should've last a lot longer. They changed the spark plugs under warranty. Late November 2024, we were getting off the freeway and the check engine light came on but there were no service codes. Everything was running normally except for the engine was making a loud noise. We parked at a shopping center and approximately 30 minutes later, restarted the car and all these messages and icons appeared for: vehicle stability assistant system problem, hill start assistant problem, acc, collision mitigation breaking system problem, road departure mitigation system problem, emissions system problem, tpms, brake system problem, electric power steering system problem. Towed it dealership and after an hour of diagnostics testing, they said it’s the spark plugs again! just a little over a year and 2 out of 4 spark plugs are bad again. This is not right. We hardly drive this car and it’s only a little over a year since the spark plugs were replaced and a little over 5 years since we got the car brand new. Spark plugs are supposed to last 10 years or 100,000 miles and we’re not close to either. This time they said it's not covered under warranty and is over $800.

15 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 11/20/2024

The contact's nephew owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 23v858000 (fuel system, gasoline); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that while her nephew was driving and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle remained stuck in second gear. The local dealer was contacted, and an appointment was scheduled for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 69,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

16 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 09/20/2024

I had the recall fixed on the vehicle and the emissions light still comes on and throw all the other lights on. It also jerks I had the engine light check and it still saying power loss.

My transmission is going out and it’s slipping my car have 108,000 miles and I take care of my car.

18 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2024

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord sedan. The contact stated while driving at approximately 70 mph, the vehicle had a loss in motor power. The contact stated he had managed to pull over to the shoulder of the road. The vehicle was towed by a family member to the contact's residence. The vehicle was scanned by an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the pump kit needed to be replaced. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact received a notification of NHTSA campaign number: 24v214000 (power train) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated the pump kit was replaced but the failure reoccured. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 66,000.

19 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 04/07/2024

My 2019 Honda Accord showed 10 warning lights. I took it to the dealer and they advised my fuel injectors were running hot and misfiring. Requiring the replacement of one injector totaling almost $2000the vehicle only has 65,000 miles. Though the vehicle seemed drivable, I had no idea if it would just stop running, and it required immediate intervention.

20 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 03/02/2024

I was driving on the interstate on adaptive cruise control when suddenly my cruise control turned off, and then various sensor lights all started popping up on my dash notifying my that various safety systems were not on/working, including all Honda sensing features, I also lost my power steering. I managed to pull off onto an exit ramp, kept the car running, and was able to get it to town to have battery tested. Battery was fine. Turned the car off and turned it back on and there were 0 issues and everything worked just fine. Took car to Honda dealership, it was diagnosed that the eps unit malfunctioned. I was terrified when this happened as I was traveling 70 miles per hour on the interstate and didn't know what was happening, I was unsure what was happening and if I was going to be able to control the vehicle at all even through the gas pedal, or brakes. I was terrified I wouldn't be able to steer or brake or if the car was going to accelerate without my control. I was able to brake slowly and pull over to an exit ramp. Driving it into town with no power steering was extremely difficult and scary. I had never experienced any issued with any electrical, steering, or any other systems in my car prior to this. Honda of altoona in iowa is where the car was diagnosed the eps malfunction, I was told by the dealership it was a manufacturer error and there wasn't anything I did to trigger it. I had the eps unit replaced based off the dealership recommendation as there was no promising it wouldn't happen again if I didn't replace the unit and it was a safety concern.

21 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 11/28/2023

I drove my 2019 Honda Accord ex-l from my house, about ¼ mile, to a stop light. I noticed that the outside temperature readout on the dash, which started out at 28 degrees, was rapidly rising. By the time the light turned green, the outside temp read 42. After driving several hundred feet the readout dropped back to 28 degrees. After traveling about 1 mile more, at either the next or 2nd red light I came to, while idling, I noticed the car was vibrating. I put the car in neutral, raised the engine speed slightly, and the vibrations went away. I placed the transmission back into drive, and when I went to accelerate, the car would not go faster than about 10 mph, and the “malfunction indicator light” came on. I was able to make a u turn and head back towards home. Even at 3000 rpm the car was going about 10 mph, but I noticed if I took my foot off the accelerator, as the rpm’s were winding down, it was like the transmission engaged just a little, enough to speed up an mph or two. If I gave it gas again, I was back to about 10 mph max. I limped back to my home, and had to leave with my other car for an appointment. While I was away, my wife heard the Honda’s horn in our driveway continuously honking. She went to the Honda and when she grabbed the driver side handle, the honking stopped. That afternoon I had the car towed to troy Honda. When they drove it, it worked fine, and they got no hits when they scanned the computer. I picked up the car without the problem found or solved. The service manager said without it acting up on their test drive and nothing showing up on the computer, there was nothing they could do. How can the malfunction indicator light come on, and then leave no code to be read? this is definitely a safety issue. This problem could be deadly if it happens, for example, when I am in the middle lane on an interstate. At the least this problem could leave me stranded who knows where. This is serious. This is dangerous. In my opinion.

22 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 11/09/2022

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 73 mph, the vehicle ceased to accelerate with the check engine, brakes, and tire pressure warning lights illuminated. Additionally, the message indicating an engine failure and to contact the local dealer was displayed. The contact was able to pull over safely, turned off and restarted the vehicle however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as designed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and the contact was informed that the head gasket had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the VIN was not under recall. The failure mileage was 110,000.

23 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/16/2022

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 30 mph, the vehicle started to stall. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to park the vehicle at a nearby parking lot. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the transmission to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 158,000.

24 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2022

No warning lamps were on. Took the car to Honda of murfreesboro TN I was told I had a blown head gasket fluid around cylinder 2 but my car has never ran out never had a issue I started to hear liquid bubble in dashboard turbo had to be replaced didn't fix the issue spark plugs are being replaced often to keep lamps off and car functions working properly antifreeze is being monitored because it's burning rapidly car goes into limp mode when you get up to certain speed on highway or when you go to pull out into traffic.

25 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 07/24/2022

1hgcv2f92ka008907 vehicle has stalled in the middle of the highway 2 times, and would shut off mid drive. Both times the car would shut off, start loosing speed and go into limp mode, and then stop. When trying to turn the car on, the whole dash board would light up with different errors, rdm problem, tpms, cmbs, engine system error, electric power steering, adaptive cruise etc. I have taken the vehicle 3 weeks prior to the latest incident to a local dealer, dean Honda (911 clairton blvd, pittsburgh, PA 15236), and they said they couldnt find the issue or cause. I have video and picture evidence of problem. Looking at the vehicle model, 2019 Honda Accord, there are 3 recalls which describe my issue, but when entering the VIN number says that my specific vehicle does not have any recalls. This is very dangerous, not only for the occupants of the vehicle, but also other vehicles driving on the road, as I was in a close call 2 times already while driving the vehicle, and the dealer, and Honda are not doing anything to prevent the issue from reoccuring. Thank you email address for contact is arminikonic00@gmail. Com 4125303337 sincerely, armin ikonic files included, also a quick link for the files, with larger video quality https://photos. App. Goo. 26 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 02/22/2022

Driving on the highway at speed. Started to accelerate to pass. After a very brief moment of acceleration, it stopped accelerating. Engine light started flashing on the dashboard. Due to loss of propulsion, myself and one passenger were almost rear ended. I then engaged emergency flashers. Had to navigate multiple semi trucks on my right to coast to the shoulder. Once stopped on the shoulder of the highway, I turned off power to the vehicle, waited a couple minutes and re-started the vehicle. Vehicle started, engine light was no longer on. Drove away. Took vehicle to a Honda dealership the next morning. They kept the vehicle for a week and could not replicate the issue or find anything wrong upon inspection.

27 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2022

At approximately 16:08 est on Jan 1, 2022 I was traveling westbound on I-76 at mile marker 146. 9 wb (40°02'03. 0"n 78°29'50. 0"w) in the center lane on a straight section of road at approximately 70mph. Car mileage was 21264 at the time of the crash. The weather at the time of the crash was light rain and with temperature approximately 50f. The car suddenly and for no apparent reason began skidding / fishtailing. I tried steering to regain control of the vehicle and applying the brakes to slow down, but the car continued fishtailing. I did not feel the anti lock brakes engage at any point during the skid. I went into the left lane, and struck the center concrete barrier, causing the airbags to deploy and the car to come to rest in the left lane. 3 symptoms appeared the day of the crash which had never happened before: 1) several hours before the crash, the vehicle began handling strangely. It felt like there was either steering or brake input from the land keeping assist / adaptive cruise control / traction control systems which was "fighting" me and causing the vehicle to swerve slightly. These handling anomalies occurred randomly about 10 times immediately before the crash. 2) about 2 hours before the crash, the check engine light began flashing and there was a loss of engine power. I pulled over and restarted the car, which seemed to resolve the check engine light / power loss. 3) at one point the adaptive cruise control turned itself off and gave a message about traction conditions. To my knowledge the problem has not been confirmed or reproduced, and the vehicle has not yet been inspected by Honda, my insurer, or anyone else. As of Jan 6, the vehicle is currently in a yard near altoona PA awaiting assessment, and is available for inspection upon request. I informed Honda about the crash on Jan 6, 2022. They gave me a case number and said to work through my insurer on next steps. Honda service bulletin 21-052 may be relevant to this incident.

28 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 12/19/2021

Upon accelerating on a highway, the malfunction indicator light came on and the car lost power. Without drive power it was very dangerous to maneuver to exit the freeway. The dealership recognized that this was due to issues with the intercooler and pgm-fi software for this vehicle and is spelled out in a technical service bulletin (Honda 21-052). However, even though the car is under the original warranty, they want to charge over $250 for the repair.

29 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/15/2021

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated when attempting to park, the vehicle accelerate on it's own and hit the vehicle in front of them causing damage their front driver side headlight and grill was caved in. The contact had to depressed on the brake pedal and hit the ignition switch for the vehicle to stop accelerating. No warning light's illuminated on the vehicle. The air bags did not deployed. No one was injured. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an auto body shop who repaired the physical damage to the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer to who inspected the vehicle but could not diagnosed the caused of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired, however the contact concern is that failure could reoccurred again. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 16,504.

30 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 08/08/2021

Vibration noise / shuddering – experienced a pronounced low-frequency vibration noise / shuddering while coasting down in speed with foot off gas pedal. Felt like the cvt didn’t want to down-shift as speed decreased. Problem first occurred several times on August 12-13, 2021 when odometer was ~ 15,250, and has happened a few times since.

31 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 05/05/2021

Car fired code p2119f while driving on the highway. When it was diagnosed it needs fuel injectors and fuel rail replaced and warned not to drive it as it will go into "limp mode," at shut the care down immediately to 10 mph without warning. Cost to replace ~$1325.

32 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 04/06/2021

I was driving on the highway doing a normal lane change then all of a sudden lost all control of the vehicle. Loss of power and maneuverability. I went into the side ditch where my vehicle completely flipped over. I had just got the bcm recall on my vehicle 5 days prior. I cannot explain how, only that my vehicle lost complete control for no reason, it was as if I had turned my engine off while changing lanes.

33 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 11/25/2020

Shifts from drive to neutral when shifter is slightly contacted, such as removing a water bottle from cupholder near shifter console. This has happened at least 3 times including while driving and when idling. If this happens at 60mph you will slow down to a stop without brake lights lit, possibly in the middle of a highway, may result in rear end accident. I was lucky to have noticed and was able to shift back to drive without accident occurring. I am emailing service department at burns Honda regarding this problem today, as they are currently closed for thanksgiving.

34 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 12/12/2019

Purchased new 2019 Honda Accord sedan on 07/17/2019. While driving on vacation in September 2019 on interstate going around 75 mph reached over to put cup in holder and lightly bumped gear shift. This moved gear shift back from drive to neutral. Did not touch button on front of stick to change gears! pushed back on stick to put back into drive and it moved back into drive without braking or using button on stick to change from neutral to drive. This happened again later in September on interstate while going 60 mph by hitting gear stick with my knee while repositioning legs in seat driving. Also once again in December on interstate while driving around 60 mph also bumping back of gear stick. I have had no repairs. Did ask service department at patty peck Honda why this was occuring and they denied that it was even possible.

35 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 12/09/2019

Honda 6 speed manual transmission reverse gear lock out safety mechanism failed to work until now. The problem is still existed on my vehicle. After my car was serviced at Honda dealer for engine block replacement (failed at 3400 miles), reverse gear lock out do not work. Having the reverse gear gate located at far right, there must be electronic lock out mechanism not allowing the shift selector pass the 5th and 6th gear column when car is moving forward at certain speed. Since such function has failed on my car, I can easily move the shifter to the column where reverse gear is at any speed. Problem is if I shift from 5th to 6th, shifter slide into reverse gear gate and grinds at high speed. It caused another shifting problem and it maybe potentially safety issue at highway speed. When I shift from 4th to 5th, again shifter slides pass the 5th gear gate, and ends up miss shift since there is no forward gear on top of reverse gear selecting column. I fear the grinds shifting to 6th. I have been driving without overdrive for more than 1 month. . It could cause potentially dangerous situation accelerating at ramp to motorway. There are significant time delay accelerating with higher gears on freeway. Have been to Honda dealers 3 times. Unfortunately all of service advisors and techs were aware of the gear shifting safety feature which is clearly published in owners manual page 490.
