Warnings problems of the 2019 Honda Accord

There is loss of power when accelerating and all the warning lights are staying on when the car starts which is disengaging all of the advanced driver assistant systems.

During highway driving the collision system starts to brake without any risk or objects in view. Happen twice within 10 minutes.

While traveling at approximately 55 mph yesterday, in daylight, with no other cars in front, back, or to the side of our car, it radically braked on its own. The collision mitigation system warning light has frequently flashed on the dashboard since we bought the car new in 2019 but never did it apply the brakes on its own. Dealerships over the years have told us "this just happens", and offered no fix for the false positive alerts. This is a dangerous situation which could result in an accident or even death of occupants if not resolved by Honda. I spoke with several dealerships since the phantom braking event and they tell me they hear this complaint often. Being an intermittent situation, it is extremely difficult to diagnose and resolve. Something needs to be done.

Forward collision warning stopped working after a system upgrade on my 2019 Honda Accord hybrid. I activate the forward support and immediately it turns off. This is a safety issue. The system assist in breaking in time to maintain car distance and avoid a collision. Contacted Honda. I was told to take it to service at my cost.

Hi. All the warning lights came on one morning. Looking online many people are have the same issue.

Suddenly I get warnings of failure of adaptive cruise control, failure of braking, stearing and forward collision warning failure. It goes away if I drive my vehicle for few miles but then suddenly appears again. No one seems to know what is the issue. I tried to reset setting multiple times, checked system updates and checked battery etc, asked to check if there are any faulty codes but no one seem to know what is going on. It keeps happening every day.

I was driving about 35 mph with nothing in front of me and suddenly, the “brake” warning came on and the automatic brake engaged. There was a car behind me, but thankfully far enough behind that a rear end collision did not occur. I’m very concerned. I think the system is called cmbs (collision mitigation braking system). I would just as soon not have to have it!.

This car brakes on its own . I reported it to Honda since I have had it have been dealing with the issue it brakes on its own I filled out a form with you guys after reading about “ghost braking” so I am not alone this car is dangerous it has been serviced multiple times Honda corp is aware requested a buy back. Wondering where you guys are in your investigation I have pictures the sensors are all out of whack mitigation control warnings etc but the car literally brakes on its own highway and street Honda states they cannot disable the features. I need help. Please update me occurred again today.

On multiple occasion my vehicle will brake unexpectedly with no object in the road or surrounding my car. It has done it at freeway speeds as well as driving through parking lots. It often will sense construction repairs on the road and think I am departing the lane again slamming on the brakes (on the freeway) I have luckily avoided accidents but have had numerous close calls.

Car will randomly fully brake and stop while driving and collision system warning will show up on dash even when there is nothing in front or near car. As well as all the warning lights randomly going off when there is no issue with the car.

The car braked on its own without any obstruction or person in front of car, which almost caused me to get rear ended.

We own a Honda Accord with approximately 39,405 miles on it when we took it to the bob howard Honda dealership located at 13201 north kelley oklahoma city, ok 73131 for repair/diagnosis on August 25, 2022. The failure of the Honda included every sensor displaying in the vehicle from emission to lane change, etc. The dealership stated that the only code they noticed was a low fuel pressure but there was no issue other than that and these new cars are sensitive to low gas in vehicles which they felt contributed to every emergency sensor warning displayed with safety issues. We picked vehicle back up and on August 27, 2022, my wife was stranded cause the vehicle just stopped and would not start again with the same codes as before. Just quit running while driving which was very unsafe for my wife. It took well over 3 hours waiting for vehicle to be towed cause Honda doesn't have a shift release easily accessible on their Accord models when vehicle is unable to start and to be put in neutral cause it won't start. We had vehicle towed back to bob howard Honda and on Monday, August 29, 2022 they stated it needed a fuel pump which would cost around $1007. 00. However, the fuel pumps are on back order with no timeframe for delivery and the warranty for this vehicle expired apparently at 36,000 miles. First off fuel pump should not have failed this soon for a brand new Honda Accord or any vehicle for that matter. This is a failure in manufacturing.

While driving with girlfriend. On a 30 mph street,in avon,mass. Suddenly my car brakes in gaged, with bright “brakes” on dashboard. Pulsed brakes,slowing me down to right side. Pulled right over, scared obviously!! my car was bought oct-2019. Only 14,000 miles on it. Mint condition,so when this happened. Was very shocked, not as others before me. This, really has me driving defensive. Waiting, for another episode. Not enjoying,the driving experience!!????.

Concern was reported to dealership 2x. Sudden breaking on freeway at 55+ mph. Since June 2019, this has happened approx. 5 times. Most recently, Feb 2022, night driving approx. 55 mph on freeway suddenly rectangle breaking alert & sound on dash with car self breaking. There was a car 3 lengths behind and luckily didn't cause an accident. Each time, grateful there was no accident. 3 of the 5 times it was at night and 2 times during the day. 4 of 5 was 55mph and 1 time <45 (non-freeway) I believe the camera is getting confused with the lines/grooves on the pavement. This is dangerous.

Multiple times while driving my car the automatic braking system activated with no reason, brakes were momentarily engaged. It has happened at speeds of 10-75 mph. I and any drivers near me were absolutely put in danger. I took it to the dealer when I first experienced it in 2020 and 2021 they were not able to reproduce it and told me there was nothing I could do. Every time this happens especially when I am on the freeway it is very disturbing and causes me a great deal of anxiety. There is no way to get this to stop. I have attempted to deactivate anything related to the automatic braking feature and it still engages. The orange flashing brake messages come up randomly. Im very afraid I am going to get into an accident. My family has seen enough tragedy and I don't want to add to that.

I was at a red stop light on a local street. It was a clear, sunny day. The light turned green and I started to proceed. I was in the left hand traffic lane (there are two lanes for a left hand turn at this spot). As I proceeded to make the turn, the brake mitigation system activated the brake. There was nothing in front of me. There was a car behind me and to my right. I drive a manual transmission so this action caused my car to stall. Luckily the car behind me did not hit me. I tried to restart my car quickly. I had a hard time restarting the car as the parking brake must be on to start the car as well as the clutch depressed and foot brake pressed. As this all happened so quickly and I did not expect the car to stall for no apparent reason. I do not like the mitigation system as you have to turn it off each time you start your car. For a conscientious driver you do not need this system. It is only a burden and a hazard. I called a local dealer to ask about shutting this system off permanently and the advisor told me she had a Honda that does the same thing at a certain road she drives where there is a dip in the road. Please check to see if Honda is having a problem with the mitigation system.
