1 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 03/07/2026

This has been reported one time before but the situation has gotten worse when driving at approximately 60ish miles per hour but it starts doing it about between 50 and 70 mph when driving and the car is using the regular engine not the ev section. You will randomly lose the ability to accelerate and you have to remove your foot from the gas let the engine slow and then re-accelerate now for the second time as I'm driving I lose the ability to accelerate at all and no matter what I do the car will slow almost every warning light on the dash comes on and there are 11 different warnings I've uploaded photos of a few I have a video though also and you lose complete power and ability to drive warning lights such as power steering problem emissions problem powertrain problem all of those are part of what turns on if you try to move the vehicle it will not move unless it is an ev mode and even then it only works for several feet but you can't get over a few miles per hour if you are on the highway like I was going 65 mph and there's traffic is extremely dangerous the only reason I was not hit was because I turn my emergency lights on and was able to maneuver my vehicle to the shoulder safely had I been in a more busy section of the road or had I been in an area where I could not get off the road I would have been hit by another vehicle. Honda has stated they can't find anything wrong with the vehicle but a quick google search shows that this is a common issue and I have a video of the dash with all the warning lights should anyone need it as well as photos.

2 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 10/17/2025

I hereby state that my 2021 Honda Accord has experienced major mechanical failures involving the transmission and head gasket. The vehicle began exhibiting mechanical issues including rough shifting, loss of power, and engine overheating. Upon inspection by a qualified automotive technician, it was determined that both the transmission and head gasket have failed prematurely. These failures have rendered the vehicle unsafe and inoperable, resulting in significant repair costs, loss of use, and financial hardship. The nature and timing of these failures suggest a possible manufacturing or design defect. This statement is submitted in support of a formal claim and potential legal action against the responsible parties for the defective condition of the vehicle.

3 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 06/02/2024

Driving on highway at approximately 65 miles per hour using the adaptive cruise control. Car in front of us took a right hand exit. My 2021 Honda Accord activated the braking system and applied the brakes, so I stepped on the accelerator thinking it would override the braking system. It had no effect. There were cars behind me at the time and luckily nobody was injured. I looked this up on the internet and found that it is a reported issue. That is why I am contacting you. Very concerned about the safety of my family.

4 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 04/15/2023

We were traveling on California interstate 5 north. About 5 miles south of junction 152 the car started malfunctioning. Suddenly there was acceleration beyond my control. I pushed the brake as hard as I could. It felt like the car was going to explode. Somehow miraculously the car landed on the shoulder of the freeway. It missed hitting any other cars or trucks. This was a rental car from avis. I, my wife and another passenger came very close to death. For several minutes we were just shivering. We decided to slowly get back on the freeway with the hazard lights on. We didn’t was to be stranded in the middle of nowhere. At speeds of under 50 mph we eventually reached our destination. The next morning we again put the hazard lights on and took the car to avis where we explained what happened. The agent gave us a replacement vehicle and said that they would put the malfunctioning vehicle out of circulation. Speaking to others we found out that Honda vehicles have had runaway acceleration.

5 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 01/20/2023

On 4 separate occasions, the first on December 22, 2022, my Accord began losing power and acceleration while driving on the highway. The engine light began flashing but never came on steadily, and no message displayed. On a couple of occasions it was raining a bit, and at other times the weather was dry. Each time, I pulled the car over to the side of the road; before turning off the engine, I noticed the engine was loud and the car was shaking a bit. After a minute, I turned the car on and it operated normally, with no flashing engine light. I brought the car to a local Honda dealership after the first incident, but they were unable to locate any codes to make a repair. I am reluctant to use the car in any congested highway area such as new york or boston (both I visit regularly to see family) because of losing power on a busy highway, so it is a safety issue that affects the use of my car, which is less than two years old with approximately 33,000 miles of use. After 3 more incidents, I brought the car back to the dealership today (and it happened on the way to the dealership, as well). I told the dealer that I found a reference on the internet to a Honda repair bulletin, a21-o52, that described the exact problem my car is experiencing. The dealership just told me that the repair bulletin does not apply to my car as my car is a hybrid. They want to keep the car to keep driving it and replicate the problem.

6 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 08/30/2022

I saw the investigation of hat the ntsb is opening into problems with the crv and a handful of other vehicles. I think you should add the Honda Accord hybrid (touring) to this investigation. I was driving on a road with speed limit of 55 mph. In full evening traffic. My check engine light flashed on, and I immediately called the dealership to set an appointment. Within one minute of that light coming on, I lost all acceleration power, it just dropped off in the middle of the high flow of fast traffic with no shoulder. I had to find a way to force people to let me over going less than 5 mph to get to a safe shoulder. Then my car just stopped. I was on the phone with the service department at Honda when this happened and they were like, yeah sometimes that just happens. You get to the side of the road within a minute or it will shut off while driving. They made it seem like it was a super common and well known problem. That is ridiculously dangerous. I mean, ridiculously dangerous. I was absolutely terrified I would be slammed by a car on the highway. I got my car to the dealership for a full diagnostic, that they tried to charge me for, but they didn’t find anything. And they said it was probably nothing because they had no proof it happened. That is about it, nothing too terrible, but that has way more potential problems than my scary incident alone. Thank you.

7 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 06/28/2022

Car moving slowly and suddenly races and speeds up. Hard to stop it. Has happened twice, 8 to 10 months apart. . First time was on a small driveway. Was able to stop car , with no damages. 2nd occurrence I was pulling into a parking space. Foot not on gas or brake and again the car accelerated. This time the car hit a handicapped parking sign and pushed it over. The sign stopped the car with assistance from me. There was a small drop in front of the car and a tree 10-15 feet in front of the hill. The passenger in my car would have been in severe trouble had I not gotten the car stopped. My husband thought I may have somehow activated the cruise control. But I was going less than 20 miles per hour each time. This could be a deadly problem if a child or someone crossed in front of me.
