Service Brakes problem #1

Collision warning randomly activates when driving while no vehicles or objects are around. This has been ongoing, but this last time emergency braking activated extremely hard and would had caused a collision if there was a vehicle following as vehicle almost came to a complete stop on a 75 mph highway.

Service Brakes problem #2

Car won't crank lights on dash on. Keep saying abs braking system.

Service Brakes problem #3

All vehicle assistance lights on such as e-break, vsa, mitigation system, and cruise control show up as faulty. Infotainment system goes off on its own as well. Very bad electrical parking break light always shows up when vehicle starts. Taking it to dealer multiple times they claimed it’s ok.

Service Brakes problem #4

Honda is using cheap brake pads/rotors on their cars. I was parked and went in reverse and the brake pads started squealing so loudly, something didn’t seem right. I’ve never heard this sound before and my family hasn’t either who’ve owned many cars before. I took it to the dealership and they were able to reproduce the sound. They said nothing could be done even though the brake pads are too thick. This seems to happen when it’s humid, raining or cold. The dealership didn’t really care but this seems like a hazard. I’ve read on forums and researched online that this is a very common issue and nothing is being done to fix it. A recall should be issue because this can be a road hazard.

Service Brakes problem #5

Honda Accord hybrid touring edition 2022 [xxx] [xxx] complete brake system failure while pulling in to a starbucks parking lot in wayzata, mn. Braking system did not react or stop the car. Automatic braking system did not function either. As a result the car collided into a my burger wall. No dashboard warning lights. After collision police and ambulance arrived on the scene. Driver was taken to urgent care after sustaining soft tissue injuries affecting clavicle, sternum, neck and back. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Service Brakes problem #6

My car won’t start it’s saying my brake system. It will turn on but won’t drive.

Service Brakes problem #7

Vehicle won't start due to a brake system problem. It's some type of electrical problem with the brake. This looks to be a problem with Honda.

Service Brakes problem #8

Explanation provided: According to the dealership, the following issues were identified: faulty electric brake booster incomplete steering angle neutral position learning lost communication with various control units, including the electric servo brake and electric brake booster control units, as well as multiple system failures (e. G. , can communication, vsa brake actuator, sensor calibration, and f-can). Lain keeping failure, cruise control failure. It made me in a dangerous situation. Suddenly, break didn’t work. This car is very defensive. It has to be a recall.

Service Brakes problem #9

On 9/20/2024, the dashboard on my 2022 Honda Accord flashed 11 information alerts, including brake hold system problem, emissions systems problem, electric power steering, vehicle stability assist, hill start assist problem, adaptive cruise control system problem, collision & road departure mitigation braking system problem, tpms, brake system problem. I purchased car with less than 50 miles on it in 2021 and had no major issues prior to this. Car has less than 50,000 miles.

Service Brakes problem #10

When I was driving on the highway about to make the exit my car randomly did the automatic braking and it almost caused me an accident. My car had shown the braking light.

Service Brakes problem #11

My car has been phantom braking very hard on its own many times this past week while I was driving on the freeway. There’s no car in front of me and luckily no car was in back of me. Also I noticed it happens a lot when I change lane. I noted these frequent frightful occurrences below. It just brakes when nothing is in front. 6/14/24 @11:30am on the freeway 6/19/24 @9:17am on the freeway 6/22 /24 @8:37am phantom brake very hard on the freeway.

Service Brakes problem #12

Car displayed emergency brake on dash and braked while car was traveling at freeway speeds. No obstructions or cars were near vehicle to cause auto braking.

Service Brakes problem #13

Automatic emergency braking system slammed on the brakes with no apparent obstruction in the way. I turned a corner, started to accelerate, brakes slammed on and light on dashboard came on. Only took a couple of seconds.

Service Brakes problem #14

Suddenly all errors are alerting on the car after multiple trips to the mechanic we are finding that there is electronic computer errors with the braking system. . This is causing everything to go alert in the entire car. It is believed that the problem will cause brake lock up and safety issues. I would like an investigation into this vehicle. I tried to take it to the dealer, who told me they were far too busy to look at it but if I leave it there I could rent a vehicle from them until they get around to it. I went to another mechanic and again this is what we discovered. The car has computer glitches.

Service Brakes problem #15

The whole switch for the e brake and park hold fell into the console. I was driving normally one day and heard a noise, when I looked down I noticed it had fallen. I have only used this switch about 2 times since purchasing this car brand new in 2022.

Service Brakes problem #16

Brake start by itself and cause despeed.

Service Brakes problem #17

2022 Honda Accord is experiencing a “traction control” light turning on randomly. Following that, multiple indicators turn on which disable the functions of economy, cruise control, and other features. When the traction warning is flashing, the vehicle makes an electrical sound.

Service Brakes problem #18

There have been multiple instances of the car slowing or braking while passing other vehicles on the highway. In some cases the emergency brake alert shows on the dashboard and the vehicle brakes on its own. In all cases there was no hazard or reason to slow or brake. This occurs often but intermittently. It has occurred in rain, night, day, sun, or other various atmospheric conditions and there seems to be no correlation other than the acc is engaged at the time and we're passing other vehicles that are on the right side of the car. In several cases, there are other vehicles behind us while passing and the "brake check" occurrences have caused those behind us to have to brake hard or swerve to avoid us. It also creates a terrible habit for the driver of my car of using the accelerator when the brake light illuminates in order to not get hit from behind. The dealer was notified and checked the car and claims there are no issues with acc or the sensors. This indicates that the system gain tuning my be faulty or too sensitive and that the dealers are not able to make any changes to fix the issue.

Service Brakes problem #19

There have been multiple times where the automatic emergency braking just slams on the brakes for no reason almost causing a rear-end accident.

Service Brakes problem #20

I had just merged onto a road and suddenly without warning the automatic emergency brakes applied. There were no vehicles in front of me or other objects. My safety and others were at risk because the vehicle suddenly braked and my control of the vehicle was considerably diminished. The road conditions were icy and it was snowing.

Service Brakes problem #21

Purchased vehicle on 11/22/23the next day the car slammed on the brakes to an almost complete stop while merging right onto a freeway onramp. It was a clear early morning with no cars in front or near. Had there been someone close behind me they would have rear ended me. Now since then today 12/3/23 back to back the same day within an hour the car slammed on the brakes when a vehicle turned right, without being close. I feel the vehicle is unsafe.

Service Brakes problem #22

I was getting on a freeway, via an on ramp, I was the first vehicle from the light, so there were no vehicles ahead of me. As I was about to merge onto the right lane of the freeway, my vehicle slams to a stop. The brake icon appeared on the control panel, and worried about the vehicle behind me maybe hitting me, I attempt to pull to the right to get off the road. Luckily there were no vehicles on the freeway at the time close to me, and the vehicle that was behind me when I got onto the freeway on ramp, was far enough back. My vehicle only braked for a moment, but it was a hard jerk. It all lasted seconds and I managed to merge onto the freeway and continue on my way. I have not told the dealership yet, where I purchased the vehicle from, but I'm going in for regular service in a week and will address it then. There have been other times the brake icon shows up, but the vehicle had never stopped on it's own before. That was a first. I have, however, noticed numerous electrical related problems with this vehicle. Well, I'm assuming it's all electrical (braking, speed, ac/heating, backup camera not working due to outside temp). I purchased it new, I'm the sole owner, it has just over 8k miles on it. I didn't bring it up with the dealer because I just chalked it up to numerous other problems I have with this vehicle, and figured I had a lemon, so it's too late to do anything about it. And most of the time if the dealer can't replicate the problem, they feel like it doesn't exist, they won't do anything anyway. I have since disabled any driver assist abilities in the vehicle. I have no issues with anyone inspecting my vehicle.

Service Brakes problem #23

The rear brakes on my 2023 Accord started making squealing/grinding noise in reverse each morning. The noise was not the normal noise heard when the brakes are moist in the mornings. I went to the dealer with this complaint 3 times and was told a different story each time. Yesterday they informed me that the pads and rotors are in need of replacement. The vehicle has 16,500 miles on it. I believe after talking to the service manager that Honda is aware of this issue and should issue a recall before there is a brake failure and people get hurt.

Service Brakes problem #24

I was driving approximately 30 miles an hour with my foot on the accelerator when the automatic braking stoped the car dead. The automatic brake message flashed on the dashboard at that time. There were no cars or anything in front of me on the road. I was then rear ended by the car behind me. The car was taken to a collision shop, and there was a scan done on the car. There have been no other inspections of the cars braking system as far as I know. The problem was reported to my insurance company, geico. The problem was reported to the police officer responding to the scene of the accident and the collision/towing company.

Service Brakes problem #25

On multiple occasions, my 2022 Honda Accord has used the automatic braking system against my better judgement and almost caused traffic collisions. - it has braked when I was simply turning around in a parking lot, nearly causing a vehicle to hit me. - it brakes when I'm trying to park my vehicle in a narrow garage space, despite not being in danger of hitting anything. - it has braked at traffic intersections when it sees cars turning in front of me, almost causing vehicles behind to collide with the back of my car. I filed a complaint with Honda, but they were unhelpful. Since it's impossible to permamently disable this safety feature, their only resolution was for me to remember to temporarily disable it every time I use the vehicle. It appears that this technology is flawed and prone to malfunctioning and Honda implemented it in their vehicles to track the data by using involuntary test subjects. In my view, this warrants a federal investigation and lawsuit. Thank you.

Service Brakes problem #26

The contact owns a 2022 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving at various speeds on several occasions, the vehicle experienced phantom braking. Additionally, the contact observed a warning chime, and the word “brake” was displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Service Brakes problem #27

My daughter and I just bought this 2022 Honda Accord on 04/29/2023. On 6/28/2023, she was headed home, driving north, and was coming to the busy intersection of a county road and highway. She went to brake, but the brakes did not respond. In order to avoid hitting another vehicle, she swerved and blew through the intersection. Thank goodness she did not hit anyone in the intersection and no one hit her. It could have been so bad. She did come to rest in a farmer's field on the northeast corner of the intersection. According to the shop that is currently processing the claim with state farm and investigating the repairs and damage, many error lights are lit up on the dash as relates to the brakes, forward collision warning, and emergency braking. They indicated that they need to work with Honda to clear, verify, and repair everything related to those codes. The vehicle is scheduled to be towed to Honda of greeley on Wednesday, 7/19/2023. In my research, I did see the NHTSA acknowledgment of recall letter just signed on 06/22/2023 by alex ansley for the 2022 Honda Accord, indicating that a recall would be issued in regards to an issue with the brakes, that may be related to my daughter's accident. I also read further that the actual recall letters would be mailed out 07/24/2023. I am just not sure if this would also cover the 2022 Honda Accord hybrid.

Service Brakes problem #28

My daughter just bought this 2022 Honda Accord on 04/29/2023 (in her name and my name). According to the shop that is currently processing the claim with state farm and investigating the repairs and damage, many error lights (about 10) are lit up on the dash as relates to the brakes, forward collision warning, and emergency braking. They indicated that they need to work with Honda to clear, verify, and repair everything related to those codes. I still need to call the police dept for a copy of their report, but they did issue her a citation for running the stop sign. In my research, I did see the NHTSA acknowledgment of recall letter just signed on 06/22/2023 by alex ansley, indicating that a recall would be issued in regards to an issue with the brakes, that may be related to my daughter's accident. I also read further that the actual recall letters would be mailed out 07/24/2023. Sincerely, cameron gomez (very concerned dad) for kaitlyn gomez (very lucky daughter).

Service Brakes problem #29

I was using cruise control on high speed road. I depressed brake and turned onto a slower road. I continued for about a hundred yards and when I tried to come to a full stop by depressing the brake the car seemed to be trying to accelerate and I was barely able to bring the car to a stop. As I stopped the engine cut off. A similar incident occurred the day before. I took car to dealer and after checking for two days they were unable to reproduce the problem.

Service Brakes problem #30

Hello, I bought a new Honda Accord hybrid from schaumburg Honda, illinois on 11/23/2022. Within one week of buying the car, the following error messages appeared on the dashboard with the brake system light on 1. Adaptive cruise control systems problem see dealer 2. Collision mitigation braking system problem see dealer 3. Road departure mitigation system problem see dealer I took my car to the dealer at schaumburg Honda on 12/13/2022 and they inspected the car and said they did not find anything defective and reset the error codes. After one week, adding about 30 miles, I had the same error message displayed. I contacted Honda and raised a complaint – 13553020 reading this issue and on their advice, I had my car checked by a different dealer valley Honda at naperville on 12/27/2022. They did the same and drove the car for another 30 miles and the code was gone. Again after two weeks, the same error messages are on the dashboard. I stopped using the car as it was a safety hazard to dive with the brake system malfunctioning and updated Honda the same. The car has been used for daily commutes for work and driving within 40 miles per hour depending on the allowed speed limits. Even though this qualifies as a lemon car but Honda is declining and asking me to take it to the dealer again (3rd time). The defects of the car substantially impacted my ability to use the vehicle. The defects also rendered the vehicle unsafe for use. Regards jeyanth.

Service Brakes problem #31

Rear brakes make squealing noise when vehicle is placed in reverse while in motion. This issue has been happening within the first year I had the vehicle from new. Took the vehicle in for inspection with no reported issues. Noise still persists. Other Honda Accord owners have reported similar issues.

Service Brakes problem #32

The contact owns a 2022 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while attempting to move the vehicle from the parking space the vehicle failed to move. The contact made several attempts to start the vehicle and then waited for approximately an hour before the vehicle finally started as intended. The contact stated that while driving, the vehicle failed to accelerate above 17 mph. The contact stated the vehicle was decelerating while attempting to accelerate above 17 mph. The braking system, adaptive cruise control, collision system braking, road departure mitigation system, low speed braking control, and electric power steering warning lights were illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who was unable to identify the cause of the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure persisted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 5,800.

Service Brakes problem #33

Experienced very hard and rapid braking from the collision mitigation braking system when no obstruction or collision was imminent. The dashboard indicated "braking" at the time of the event, but there was otherwise no other warning or indication before the event happened. Issue has happened several times. Sometimes when drifting over a dashed line when merging onto a highway, but also happened this week when driving in a straight line while it was raining. All hard braking was when vehicle was over 50 mph and on a highway.

Service Brakes problem #34

When I set my cruise control and drive in the middle lane, the car brakes automatically even though there is no car or any object in front of me. This can endanger traffic.

Service Brakes problem #35

Car is only 5 months old and 1500 miles. All lights on dashboard are on. Check engine, check brake, check emissions, check collision mitigation, check abs - literally all lights are on.

Service Brakes problem #36

The contact owns a 2022 Honda Accord. The contact stated that an abnormal, rattling noise was coming from the rear end of the vehicle while depressing the brake pedal. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. Over time, the failure worsened with an abnormal, screeching sound coming from the brake pedal. Additionally, there were several brake related messages on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer on multiple occasions and the contact was given the same information each time. The contact attempted to reach out to the manufacturer but was placed on an indefinite hold. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.

Service Brakes problem #37

Purchased car on 11-30-21. Three (3) times, most recently 3-5-22, while making a lane change from a single lane to multiple lanes on a right curve, the vehicle has suddenly decelerated and the braking system came on. Fortunately, no one was behind me on any of the three (3) occurrences. The vehicle did not come to a complete stop. Speed at time of each incident was around 45 mph and the vehicle slowed to under 30 mph abruptly.

Service Brakes problem #38

I have a 2022 Honda Accord sport. The automatic braking system activates at random times, even when nothing is around the car. I have almost been rear ended several times because of this issue.
